Romney trip begins in shambles

LONDON (CNN) - If only Mitt Romney could turn the Olympic torch on the newspaper headlines in London.

He's the "Party Pooper" in the Daily Mail, "Nowhere Man" in the Times of London and "Mitt the Twit" in The Sun.

"He's the "Party Pooper" in the Daily Mail"

Indeed. He has been sniffed and found wanting.

Gov. Romney is NOT presidential material. He is not competent to be the leader of the free world. There is probably a move under way in the Republican party to unseat him at their convention.

Here we again, Romney was asked about the Olympics and he answered based on his knowledge, experience of how things should be done and now everyone is flipping it around to say the man is not ready, oh but Obama is ready. Please, this just one more gimmick and of course those in foreign countries like Obama to stay, they keep hoping for him to open doors for them. Nothing more than just a gimmick, meanwhile we have a terrible economy, unemployment is super high and people in the U.S. are worried. What matters to me is our economy and when we will see a better economy.

His first trip abroad as statesman starts of with disaster after disaster.
Now imagine what his first day in office as statesman would be like.

Needless to say, Romney is being widely mocked over the remark, which even has conservatives doing a massive facepalm

The Brits are more astute than the GOP, they figured out Mittens in less than 2 days.

  8. Joe from CT, not Lieberman

So let's see. He has insulted our biggest international creditor (China) calling them "currency manipulators". He has insulted our third-oldest ally (England), claiming they are not ready to actually run the Olympics. He has insulted the entire Arab World hinting that if HE were President we would already have boots on the ground in Syria and Iran.
Yep. This guy is ready for prime time...NOT!

@Myviewis – What matters to me is our economy and when we will see a better economy.
The economy will improve after Nov when the US and the world accepts that we will have another four years for Obama to fix the mess that the Republikrats left on the brink of. Business will start spending the HUGE amounts of cash they have been sitting on.. waiting for the GOP to do something in Congress that will benefit the country and not just the Party. Willard is well on the way to handing Obama to a 2nd term – all on his ownsome. Hahaha..

Mitten's Blind Ambition Tour now makes him an international laughing stock!

Remember, he only represents .0006% of the American "colonists"!

How wonderful that Mitt Romney now gives his approval to the preparedness for the Olpics. Sounds as if all of Britain was waiting for his okay. On the diplomatic forefront, nicely played Mr. Romney. You continue your delusional idea that you only have to criticize others to prove your superiority.

This is going to get even better. I can’t wait to hear what comes out of Romney’s mouth when he sets foot in Poland and then Israel. Heeheehee.

Romney should change the name of this ‘Listen and Learn’ vacation to the “I put a shoe in my mouth before someone throws one at me” vacation.

Maybe Romney will walk into a prop door like that Dubya-Dummy.

    Fair is Fair

"I trust that the president has a plan to put more Americans back to work "
Well, BY ALL MEANS, put it forth. The FACT is that all Obama has is more spending. bigger government, and more spending. He and his economic policies are a complete, utter, and TOTAL failure. He's a one-trick pony and he couldn't even get that right. Time for a change.

Yelling "bigger government" and everyone run is not working anymore. In fact, if those republican cowards in Congress would get over their fear, we would see REAL growth but since they KNOW the only way back in the front door is through your suffering and pain, they will continue to keep their chains TIGHT on you. As for change well, we all saw what change would look like yesterday (in the UK) and most of us don't want it. Ever.

British PM David Cameron (conservative) send the message to Mitt Romney “ we didn’t organize our Olympic in the middle of nowhere."

If England was a hostile country people would have come on the street and asked Mitt to leave their country. It is obvious that Mitt stepped on their national pride on the most important day of London history. Thank God Great Britain’s are one of our most enduring allies.

Nobody is flipping it around. Mittens ame out with a very calculated statement that was fairly obvious he had planned as an attempt to evoke his alleged expertise and acumen in terms of organizing the Olympic games. It came across TO THE BRITISH PEOPLE as arrogant and intrusive because it was none of his business to comment on the security efforts and it played right into the stereotype fo Americans as brash, arrogant, meddlesome turds who think they own the planet. That's a fact. That was their impression and hey've stated it. They get to determine what their perceptions and feelings of the situation were. The rest of us are simply acknowledging that they felt that way about what he said. It pretty much ruins his ability to run around yammering that Obama gives the world a bad impression.

I saw Willard and Ann this a.m., trying to tell a joke about a gift from their son's. As usual, they were awkward and out of place and the joke was anything BUT funny. They have got to be the weirdest family to ever run for a political office. Can you imagine these freaks in the White House?

Given how well he's done diplomatically with one of our closest allies, I can only imagine what it would be like with a country with whom we have actual disagreements. How you choose to speak to people matters. You can't speak to everyone as if they're your employee.

Mittens pretty much ruined his ability to continue running around yammering his substanceless talking points about how Obama somehow gives the rest fo the world the wrong impression/perception of Amurika. What it reveals, when yuo think a little deeper on it and considering that the rest of the world has been very receptive to Obama and that polls show our image and standing have increased under Obama compared to what it was as a result of Dubya, is that with respect to those talking points from Mittens and the GOP/Teatrolls, what they're really saying is that THEY are somehow uncomfortable with the image Obama is projecting, not the rest of the world...and I think the underlying reason is pretty freekin obvious.

Thats the problem with this world, we are not honest with each other. I would rather be honest than be a total hyprcrite We say things behind each others back rather than face the person and tell them the truth. Maybe Romney has to learn to be like Obama and say what he feels that you people would rather hear other than the truth.. It seems we would rather hear lies than the truth. That is why our country and the world are in such a mess.

Liberals/democrars are getting desperate and they are using any little thing to try and hit Romney with it. It is not going to work. Romney in November/12.
