Romney on to Israel

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has boarded his charter flight from England to Israel for the next leg of his overseas trip.

Joining him on the flight are his wife Ann Romney, son Josh and a slew of policy advisers.

After a bruising trip to England, the GOP contender did not make any comments to his traveling press corps in the rear of the plane.

The aircraft is adorned with photographs of Romney on the campaign trail.

Aides on the plane briefly held up then lowered an Israeli flag a few rows ahead of journalists seated on the plane. It was a brief reminder of the high stakes that lie ahead for a visit to a region that poses a more challenging diplomatic test than the nation Romney is leaving behind.

Prior to their departure from England, Romney and his wife watched an Olympic swimming event.

Romney commented to several staffers about the swimming event aboard the plane. "It was good, it was good, yeah," he said.

Ann Romney added, apparently referring to his finish in the 400 meter individual medley, "Michael Phelps barely made it. Barely. .07 seconds."

In an interview on Friday, Romney weighed in on the rivalry between US Olympic swimmers Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, saying he thought it "more likely" Phelps would come out ahead.

Aren't you Tea-a-tard rednecks embarassed by this putz? No? Just wait 'til he gets to Israel and spreads that GOP / Re-dumblican vomit around in that country. You brainless people have been calling Pres. Obama for being on an "apology tour". Well, that may be true because everything the GOP/Re-dumblican/Tea-a-tards do just makes us look like a country full of redneck, low intelligence vermin. So President Obama has no other choice because this country still has to lead the world, even with all the idiocy luggage we have in the tin foil hat crew

It is interesting that Romney would arrive in Israel on the sabbath, not much happening in Israel on a Saturday. As an American Jew I do not think the majority of Jews will vote for him, he just too robotic.

I don't care about these foriegn trips by presidential nominees. What does that tell us? Surely, these are just opportunities for them to boast to the voters in USA that they have foriegn policy credentials when actually they do not. The statements Romney made in UK are totally off the mark. His stand on Isreal is also off the mark. Just because Isreal is our ally does not mean that we can accept all the bad things it does. And, Isreal in its aggresive ways has done so many inappropriate things to stall the peace process in the middle east. Therefore, I do think we should give this foriegn trip by Romney any weightage in deciding how to vote in November. To me the only choice is to vote for democracts all the way and make sure that the republicans who have wasted our time and money in the US Congress do not get elected to the Congress or the White House.

    Wiredweird,
Obama was apologizing for Bush, not for America. The way Romney is acting on this trip, Obama may have to apologize to the world for Romney too.

    We're so sorry, Uncle Willard
We're so sorry if we caused you any pain
    We're so sorry, Uncle Willard
But there's no one left at home
    And I believe you've been a pain

Photos of HIMSELF adorne the plane!? Is this North Korea! If he wins, he'll make us all have pics of mitt in our homes and have to bow to him each day! Oh, maybe we won't have homes. Will be living in compounds as serfs for the 1%. Bring back child brides like grandpa had. Wake up people of America. DON'T DRINK THE KOOL AID!

I think Mitt should just fain illness and stay in his hotel room. Maybe he can claim "Montezuma's Revenge" from the "bangers" he ate in Britain. Yeah...it will T-off the British, even more. But I think the damage is already done. At least it will keep him from making the same mistakes in Israel and Poland. The LAST thing we need is for him doing or saying something stupid there, as well. Who KNOWS what "Romneyisms" await the Israelis? Maybe Mitt will wanna host a dinner party, featuring a good, old-fashioned, American staple like "Baby Back Ribs"! OMG..let's bring Mitt HOME...ASAP! Before he "kills" AGAIN!

He's going to tell them "he likes cheesy-bagels"... Romney will expect them to believe his moronic lies like the NASCAR hicks from the red states. I'd like to see somebody ask him a direct question about the Mormon's beliefs regarding the Jewish Faith... no wiggle room.

Note to the GOP: "Are you SURE there's no one ELSE in the "clown car"? You're SURE? Have you checked? Have you DOUBLE checked?"

Heard on Mark Thompson's Make It Plain yesterday: The predicted Romney gaffe in Israel is when he tells Israelis that he loves to eat his pita bread with HAMAS. That will go over so well.

(For those unfamiliar with ME food items, the correct term is hummus.)

Well after the first leg of his "Shoot Myself in the Foot" tour, lets go meddle in Middle East affairs and see what kind of hijinks he can get into there. Airline mileage does not equate to foreign policy credentials Mitt. But opening Mitts mouth is priceless. I never would have imagined thinking this, but Romney makes G.W. look like a foreign policy expert.

Let's see how many times he can insult people and embarrass himself today! This would be better comedy than late night television – except it has great consequences!

I guess Romoney had so many jobs sent out of the USA and so much money invested outside of the USA that he feels he must run for USA president outside of the USA too!

This is what I call "the USA presidency is up for sale to the highest 1% bidders of foreign lobbies and foreign governments special interests; just like the USA Supreme Court and USA politicians in general; $$$$. Nobody cares about the USA people just money and more tax benefits and give away programs for the rich people and their foreign nation picks of the week.

Well, Romney needs to save this country from ruin just like he saved the American led Olympics in 2002. Obama has failed on every front, letting us move "forward" will just be another pathetic, inept Obama attempt at something he has clearly failed at once, and will a second time. We need a competent president, NOW.

Don't elect a two-term senator to try and be president. He had no idea and still doesn't. Elect a governor. It's much similar to the responsibilities of the president.

Obama has failed us. The current administration will go down as the most incapable presidential administration in history. Don't let him continue to let us down. Elect a true American. Elect Romney. Believe in this country.

Don't forget Michele Obama in 2008, "This is the first time I've been proud to be an American." really?

And there goes Willard...off to another country to make more offensive, bumbling comments. Seriously, this is the best the GOP has to offer? No wonder this country is going down the toilet.

What a parade of fools !

I think David Brooks is wrong. It's to late for Romney to change his style , his brand has already been set in stone. He has business sense , yet no sense of vision.

And if he was so smart , why didn't challenge McCain in the last election on the economy . Romney was all about national security back in 2007 , he never mentioned the economy. He's not the caption I want on the bridge !

    No Taxes Returns. No president.

Romney can't let his tax returns out. His wife admitted as much since "It would cause more trouble that it's worth." That's what both of them said so this is just a joke to see what the GOP can do in four years, It's a dry run with Willard just making more cash.

Regardless of the political goofy nature of the trip, he is the last hope for decent relations with Israel. Look at what our choices are: Romney or Obama. Think about the way Obama has treated Israel and Bibi. As an American Jew, we can't vote for Obama again. Romney is our only choice.

As a child of the 60s, I remember the political conventions dragging on in the summer when vote after vote was cast, deals were made in back rooms, pompous windbags went on endlessly about their choice and things got hammered out until a nominee was chosen to a flurry of cheers and a massive balloon drop. Do the Republicans even need a convention this year?
Now we have the self-anointed, GOP multimillionaire automaton traveling the globe as not only the presumptive nominee, but the presumptive head of State.
Mitt is not only disconnected from mainstream America, he has a narcissistic personality disorder and the money to support it. Not a good combination.

I had to do it.I had to look.. I went to FauxNews to see how the "fair and balanced" was reporting Romney in London.

Guess what? They don't even mention. Not an article on Romney to be found.

That says it all: even FixedNews is dumping Romney.
