Romney on to Israel

(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has boarded his charter flight from England to Israel for the next leg of his overseas trip.

Joining him on the flight are his wife Ann Romney, son Josh and a slew of policy advisers.

After a bruising trip to England, the GOP contender did not make any comments to his traveling press corps in the rear of the plane.

The aircraft is adorned with photographs of Romney on the campaign trail.

Aides on the plane briefly held up then lowered an Israeli flag a few rows ahead of journalists seated on the plane. It was a brief reminder of the high stakes that lie ahead for a visit to a region that poses a more challenging diplomatic test than the nation Romney is leaving behind.

Prior to their departure from England, Romney and his wife watched an Olympic swimming event.

Romney commented to several staffers about the swimming event aboard the plane. "It was good, it was good, yeah," he said.

Ann Romney added, apparently referring to his finish in the 400 meter individual medley, "Michael Phelps barely made it. Barely. .07 seconds."

In an interview on Friday, Romney weighed in on the rivalry between US Olympic swimmers Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, saying he thought it "more likely" Phelps would come out ahead.

Jews will not support romney...we might not like the president but he will serve this country and Israel much better than romney will ever do. Romney cannot even inspire his own party to support him, let alone the swing voters and moderates he will need to attract in the general. Jews are a people and a ...people.

What a joke. Doesn't anyone remember what Israel did to the USS Liberty? Romney should be ashamed for his willingness to pander to a country of terrorists.

Say what you want about Mitt Romney but this guy is the first politicain I've ever seen who can lie, flip-flop and be non-transparent with the American people and still be neck to neck with his opponent. I wonder why he isn't yet in the lead by 10 points. Perhaps when he finally tells the American people that he vows continue all the Bush foreign and domestic policies, then maybehe will finally open up a double digit lead against the President. As they say, only in America.

    ROMNEY 2012
In his entire 4 years in office, the miserable person we have in the White House never found the time to visit Israel...he went to egypt, and other terrorist laden countrie...but not Israel...That will be remembered by every single Jew voting in November....obama will lose and it'll be a devastating loss across the board for the democrats

The venom on the above posts reminds me that these people must be in the same "majority" that crucified Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Unfortunately there will always be that kind of people around. Mitt is no where near perfect but he is far from the idiotic representations of the above posts. He's a good man but evil people will always hate him.

I can bet Willard was very relieved to leave Merry Olde England. We can see already what a disaster Mittens would be as an ambassador to our friends. Mitt definitely does not play well with others. Could it be his background of wealth and privilege and his business career being surrounded by "yes men." He's totally unfit for high office.

Boy, they're going to miss him in the UK. A little bit different from then candidate Obama's reception in '08 by 200,000 Germans waving American flags, none of which were on fire! Mittens is now working on his repertoire of Polish jokes for his Polish visit following his visit to where the "other", non-Mormon Jesus used to hang out.

We would be lucky to have Mitt Romney as our President. He is in politics to serve his country, not to make it his career. Too many of our politicans are in politics as their career and make decisions to prolong that career instead of what is right for America. Romney is not in politics to make it a career like so many others, he as already had a very successful career in business and can use that experience to help this great country. Romney is all about serving his fellow Americans. He served as head of the SLC Winter Olympics for no salary. He served as governer of Mass. for no salary. He has served for over a decade in his church for no salary. He serves not for salary but to help others and his has proven over and over he has the skills to turn around this economy and help this country. Again, we would be lucky to have him as our President.

To US presidential candidates a trip to Israel is now an equivalent to the travels of German kings to Rome in the Middle Ages, seeking to be crowned as Holy Roman emperors by the pope.

The prime minister of Israel is now as important a figure to US presidential candidates, and there is no hope of Israeli "anti-popes", as the Israeli prime ministers have achieved what the medieval popes dreamed of but never achieved: Themselves not as just religious leaders, but overall unquestioned leaders of Occident and the US presidents as their loyal martial enforcers.

    From Bloomberg:

The presumed Republican presidential nominee’s brief stay in London came off more like a blooper reel than a statesman’s first audition on the international stage.

And to think that at one time the U.S. was concerned that a President would be reporting to the Pope!

I hoipe he and his family stay out of the country. I don't like how people like Mitt Romney is allowing his wealthy friends to buy the country with their money. I hope the middleclass gets out and vote.

I shudder to think what unknown problems this man can open up outside of the United States.....He has absolutely no subtlety in his conversation and darn little solid knowledge to go with it!...He has proven time and again as he did in Britain that he can't speak without putting his foot on his mouth. WE put up with it but other countries don't have to and won't! In some areas this could prove to be dangerous

    What a buffoon.
But, if those who realize this but don't come out to vote for his opponent, Mitt will become the President of the United States!!

Notice the wife, going on all the trips. And, it's all paid for through the (more then generous hearts), of the tax payers. Gee! I wonder who will get cut from a needed service, to provide funding for these expenditures. You know they are needed, if nothing else gets paid for.

Go Mitt! I just love the idea that things will and can change in this country SOON. We are be sufficated by this current administration. Our freedoms are being taken away every time Obama picks up a pen. Truth will prevail. There is so much good left in this country and we are not going to wait for Obama to do jack didley because it's not happening. Time for an economic revival! Go Mitt.
