Romney on to Israel

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has boarded his charter flight from England to Israel for the next leg of his overseas trip.

Joining him on the flight are his wife Ann Romney, son Josh and a slew of policy advisers.

After a bruising trip to England, the GOP contender did not make any comments to his traveling press corps in the rear of the plane.

The aircraft is adorned with photographs of Romney on the campaign trail.

Aides on the plane briefly held up then lowered an Israeli flag a few rows ahead of journalists seated on the plane. It was a brief reminder of the high stakes that lie ahead for a visit to a region that poses a more challenging diplomatic test than the nation Romney is leaving behind.

Prior to their departure from England, Romney and his wife watched an Olympic swimming event.

Romney commented to several staffers about the swimming event aboard the plane. "It was good, it was good, yeah," he said.

Ann Romney added, apparently referring to his finish in the 400 meter individual medley, "Michael Phelps barely made it. Barely. .07 seconds."

In an interview on Friday, Romney weighed in on the rivalry between US Olympic swimmers Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, saying he thought it "more likely" Phelps would come out ahead.

Is there a Yiddish translation to the British phrase,
"Romney goes down like a cup of warm sick?"

    guess we'll find out.

After Romney's spectacular spectacular CHARM tour of London, I have just one question.
Haven't Poland and Israel suffered enough...already?

Mitt keeps talkin about letting Israel bomb Iran. Both Thatcher and Reagan condemned Israel striking Iraq in 1981.
Thatcher condemned Israel’s bombing of Osirak, Saddam Hussein’s nuclear reactor, in 1981. “[The Osirak attack] represents a grave breach of international law,” she said in an interview with London’s Jewish Chronicle in 1981. Israel’s bombing of another country could lead to “international anarchy.”
I think Reagan said something about,
"....the inalienable sovereign right of Iraq, and all other States, especially the developing countries, to establish a program of technological and nuclear development."
    Iran is no different.
In his STAR WARS Speech didn't Reagan say, 'We will never be the aggressor."?
I'm looking for the first few Reagan Republicans to condemn the said planned attack against Iran. Betcha not one has the guts to make a stand for fear of being called an
anti-something. I have no idea what Mitt is doing.
And then Mitt knocks Socialism? But now he's gunna go visit 3 socialist countries?
Bolton, Edelman...all these anti-Arabists Mitt has surrounded himself with, makes no sense when Arab revolution is widespread. The Arabs aren't going to get the shaft again as they did post-WWI where even Lawrence of Arabia was ashamed of Britain's destruction of promised Arab self-determination.

Mr. Romney better make sure Adelson doesn't talk negative on his behalf about President Obama on foreign soil, that sure won't make him look presidential. Adelson may not like President Obama but he's bought and paid for Mitt Romney which puts Romney in a very tough position, everything has a trade-off.

One can only imagine what embarrassing thing he'll say or do while in Israel. His short time in London was absolute fiasco! Now, we can only pray that he'll be less oral and more thoughtful while in Israel. Willard doesn't understand that he seems much more intelligent if he doesn't open his mouth. That seems to be his major problem. Why do politicians always feel that they have something to say and that there are people who wish to listen to them. Show us the taxes!

So, what new form of nitwittery awaits us in Israel? Granted, warmonger Netenyahu is salivating at the thought of having warmonger Romney in the White House, so it'll be a political circle jerk, but the sane American-Jewish population is bound to be just as disgusted by his behavior as the Brits were.

So, I'm confused. After railing against Mr. Obama's foreign policies/diplomacy, Mr. Romney goes to the UK and does three gaffs in the space of a long lunch. Is he saying that American diplomacy SHOULD BE the "ugly American" abroad? Mr. Obama looks like Henry Kissinger by comparison.

Bush fumbled abroad, but at least he was sort of funny at it. Mr. Romney just seems obtuse and clueless. At least the British don't throw shoes!

Why does he need a gaggle of policy advisors on a trip to see friendly faces? What happened to the Poland stop on his itinerary? Did they say thanks but we're going to be out of town then? I bet that he wishes that he had skipped England too, and just gone straight to Netanyehu to get his marching orders.
