(CNN) - Mitt Romney's son on Saturday e-mailed supporters promoting a line of merchandise which hits continues to hit President Barack Obama over his comment to business owners that "you didn't build that."
Tagg Romney pitched the "Built By Us Collection," which includes posters, buttons, and T-shirts highlighting the remark, which Romney and other Republicans have criticized.

"Built By Us is a rallying cry, and also a celebration of the people who truly make America work," Tagg Romney said in the e-mail.
At a campaign event in Roanoke, Virginia, on July 13, Obama said: "If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges.
"If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet," he continued.
Republicans seized on the comment, and the Obama campaign responded on Tuesday with an ad which said Republicans are taking his comment out of context.
"Of course Americans build their own business. Every day hardworking people sacrifice to meet a payroll, create jobs, and make our economy run. And what I said was that we need to stand behind them as America always has. By investing in education, training, roads and bridges, research and technology," Obama said in the ad.
One of the Romney campaign T-shirts reads, "Government didn't build my business, I did."
Posters, buttons, and t-shirts also read, "We Built America."
Tagg Romney said in the e-mail that "Dad understands success is not the result of government, it's the result of hardworking people who take risks, create dreams, and build lives for themselves and their families."
"I think we can all agree we need a President who embraces success, instead of demonizing it," he continued. "Dad's the man for the job."
While Romney is overseas - holding meetings with officials in London, Israel, and Poland, among other events - his campaign has continued stateside.
A series of surrogates, including several rumored possible vice presidential candidates, held events for the Romney campaign on Saturday, and several also continued to pressure Obama over his handling of the economy.

If the only way Mitt can win an election is by taking the POTUS words out of context, then that shows whats in store for the American people if by chance, he wins.
So let me get this straight. Mitt Romney wants to be the head of something which he and his party say has never done anything worthwhile. These shirts, are they going to be delivered on dirt roads? Will they be delivered by planes which fly without regulation and arrive at the airport in whatever order they feel is the most profitable? Will the shirts contain toxins because, like Chinese merchants they use the cheapest, most toxic materials?
What of value in this country was created out of nothing? And where are all these jobs that the Republicans have been creating with their tax breaks? More than would have been lost with the utter collapse of the auto industry?
Why can't we all get together! Why can't the republicans and the democrats get together and think about us miiddle class people, why is there so much hate between the two parties
Romneys are such class acts. I wish the election was today. Who wouldn't vote someone in based on them deliberately taking the president's words out of context? Very presidential indeed.
NOT!
What does Tagg Romney know about "American made"? His daddy made alot of his money by sending our American jobs overseas. This is typical, using "American made" and "Made by us" when it suits their purpose, trying to get elected, however, when they want to make their money, they much prefer "Made in China" or anywhere else but America!
... probably have a t-shirt line, too. i guess t-shirts are all the creativity and originality the rich and spoiled can muster.
So young Romney is promising us that his merchandise was made in USA without using any government subsidized resources like roads or the power grid or water and sewer lines, etc.? More likely it was made in some overseas sweatshop, given the Romney penchant for outsourcing.
The Romney family hasn't built a single thing in their lives here in the US. They built that in China and India and many other places overseas but to say "Built by Us" not Built by us in the US says it all.
Let them play- when people look at the comppanies like Staples that Romney claims to have built they will see our President is right- "you didn't build that" Two guys started a small stationary store- turned it into Stpales and went to Bain Capital for a loan. there are several other companies in the portfolio like this. so Mitt- you didn't build that!
Romney is building a campaign around an out-of-context comment – reflecting the basic dishonesty of his family and his campaign. It's a particularly ironnic approach from a man who made his money the old-fashioned way... his Daddy gave it to him. It looks like his son has the same plan.
Hey tagg – your daddy is a liar. He took the first part and the last part of an entire paragraph. Or maybe your dad is just too stupid to read the whole thing.
I don't trust any of those mormons. THEY LIE. (Wonder if Tagg was the one that had to pay a surrograte to make his kids for him – ha ha ha ha ha ha ha).
He is right “China Built By Us”
Looks like Willard raised his kids up to be liars too.
Guess when you have nothing to run on you have to make stuff up.
No they didn't build America. Slaves, immigrants and low wage laborers built America. Romney is nothing like his father that's for sure. By putiing his family on display he is throwing them under the bus for all sort of vetting by the public and the media.
yet again, the President's word taken out of context for a moment of fundraising for the fledgling romney campaign.
What an obnoxious family! Here's a T-shirt for you, Tagg: THE ROMNEYS DON'T GO TO FIGHT IN WARS-THEY SEND OTHER FAMILIES TO FIGHT IN THEM.
The hardworking people of the US built our government. That is a success we can all be proud of. Maybe Mitt and the repugs who hate the federal government so much should stop demonizing it. Our government should be there to protect us from the financial wizardy of the 1%ers and should not be led by one of them. I do not want my government to be run like a vulture capitalist business with Mitt as Head Vulture. The very thought of sneaky, pompous Mitt in the White House gives me the Vulture Capitalist Blues for this country's future. I am VOTING OBAMA/ Biden and straight Democratic ticket come November. Shoooo away Vultures, shoooo.
Whenever the Repubs take a slap at our president,... they just happen to miss speak when reporting what he says..They know it, we know, the news media knows it and it continues on and on!!!!. Obama was right when he said whatever we claim to do...we have had help somewhere along the line. Mostly these complaints are because they take what is said out of context, or leave part of it out.You know, I know and they know it....This is getting rediculous!!!! Give it up Romney...It does not compute!!!!!!!I've heard him make miss statements that were a lot more aggravating and nobody said a word. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!
All these Republicans are like real kids. They always make the rest embarrassed wherever they go or whatever they do.
We built it on taxpayers money!!! Tag Romney comment :Yep my dad did it by firing people. THen to0k the money and ran.I wonder if Mitt and his family really think the people at Bain capital forgot what he did to them, Even the man on mitt's ad admitted he had to get a loan for his small business. Does Mitt believe we are ALL Fools?
It just proves that some people don't get it
It's either they are just stupid or dumb or both rational normal people know that you can't take credit for something you didn't build maybe they created money and everything in the world
ah the hypocrisy of it all considering romney himself has said almost exactly the same thing. Then again, could we expect anything less?
Maybe Mr Romney believe that the schools
The roads and everything in society apparently
Materialized out of thin air
I guess the whole family are liars as the President's comment was taken out of context. Why can't Romney run an honest campaign? He lies all the time. Thank God he won't be president. He's disgraceful.
Tagg and the rest of his brothers have no right to attack anyone in America, what they should do is join the military and help our military men and women who are being attacked and dying every day. Sorry bunch of Romneys.
