Romney shrugs off magazine's ‘wimp’ cover

(CNN) – Romney defended himself Sunday from an upcoming Newsweek cover that suggests he's a "wimp."

“If I worried about what the media said I wouldn’t get much sleep,” said Romney in an interview in with CBS’ “Face the Nation” in Jerusalem on Sunday. “And I’m able to sleep pretty well.”

Hitting the stands Monday, Newsweek's cover blares: “Romney: The Wimp Factor.” In smaller text, it asks: "Is he just too insecure to be president?"

The presumptive GOP nominee reiterated that he’s not worried about the "wimp" narrative in his interview, recalling similar criticism made of former President George H. W. Bush. Romney said Bush “was a great president.”

In 1987 Newsweek ran a cover of Bush, then-vice president, titled “Fighting the ‘Wimp Factor’.”

Bush went on to win the 1988 election Michael Dukakis.

Romney is currently in Israel on the second leg of a three country foreign tour.

  1. Hey, Mittens, got any more of those 100K Bain jobs for doing nothing? 'Call Me, Maybe'?

Too late Newsweek, the Brits were first to call Mittens out with "Mitt the Twit"!

It is that shared "Anglo-Saxon" heritage that provides such keen insight.

He doesn't care what the media thinks–that's why he's expending an enormous amount of energy banning them from political events and withholding tax information.

Hmmmmmm. Let me see Romney looked Iran in the figurative eye yesterday, and said [1] Israel has a right to defend itself [which Obama also said] and [2] He told Iran DON'T mess with us or WE will deal with you, Big Time! Now Iran KNOWS Romney means exactly what he says. And THAT my friends is the way to keep the peace!

Clinton did it; Reagan did it; Bush Snr did it; GW Bush did it and Romney's doing it. THAT'S what made Americ a a Leader of Nations.
This month Putin treated Obama like mud , in public, on TV. China have "rebuked Obama publicly several times; Iran poke fun at him; the Israelis don't trust him [Pre-1967 borders fiasco]. WHY? Because he is spineless, weak and an apologist for his country!

Romney is Distinguished; Articulate; Able AND he has CLASS – and you can't buy that. He was superb in his interview with Piers Morgan. And all the stupidity about him being concerned with the security at the Olympic Games showed that he CARED about the safety of all the athletes – specially American. I, and my family and friends thought he was honest and genuinely concerned – WE'RE ENGLISH. Pity YOU people can't even be loyal to each other!

And why the hell all the fuss about Romney? CNN and BBC were showing the same "CONCERN" for 2 weeks before the Games started! Pffft! What a hypocritical bunch of hypocrites you are.

Not a very nice thing of Newsweek to print and also inaccurate. I don't think he's a wimp, he's just very odd.

Here' a song for Mitt and Ann's newest horse WARMONGER to dance to: America sees your true colors shining thru / You show your true colors of believing there is no one above you. / So just be afraid, don't let your tax returns show / Hide your true colors behind the GOP anti-gay rainbow. // We wanna see your true colors shining thru/ Please show your true colors so that few will be for you./ So don't be afraid to lead the clown car show./ Show us your true colors as the Adelson & Koch brothers main ho. // The world sees your true colors shining thru. / Showed your true colors so the Brits could deride you./ We are very afraid you'll start yet another war show./ 'Cause your true colors could bring the world down in woe.

    Willard's not a wimp, he's a flaming coward.

He's also likely a cold-blooded sociopath who destroyed the lives of thousands of families so that he could make money. He also may have flirted with becoming a psychopath when he dressed up as a police officer and pulled people over on darkened highways – serial killers start out doing that kind of stuff.

He is a wimp. And I won't give him much credit for common sense, either. What would be sad is if he actually becomes President. Sometimes I really do feel sorry for Americans.

Daddy Bush had a core, always did. He was just soft spoken. Mitt Romney has NO CORE. ZERO. He stands for nothing.

You see early psychological indications of Mitt`s insecurity. The bullying [forced haircut of a classmate] incident speaks VOLUMES – – as do the flip / flop / flips.

For example, he let Netanyahu sway him to abandon a pre-arranged meeting with the "opposition" party in Israel. Not a big thing but very telling. With Romney in the Oval office, so many others would be calling the shots. At least No 41. was his own man. Mitt is not.

He is worse than a wimp. He is dishonest. He changes like the wind. He won't release his taxes and flat out lies in the face of honest questions about his past. I don't get why he is doing so well. He is a used car salesman. There's no there there.

Romney is a "wimp". He always has been. With his father's power and money, Mitt knew he could get away with anything – bullying a gay boy at boarding school, dressing up like a MI state trooper, in a uniform his Daddy got for him, and pulling people over, hiding in France for 3 years to make sure he did not have to fight in Vietnam (but is openly rooting for war with Iran now with other people's children lives), and has yet to stand up and tell the American People what he is FOR. All he does is tell lies about President Obama and make fluff speeches about freedom. Romney is no leader. He hides his past and says "you people" have no right to know about me. He destroyed the hard drives from his computers as Governor, shredded the financial documents from the Salt Lake Olympics which have always had talk of corruption around them, hides his money in 5 foreign countries we know of to pay no taxes, and has lied about his time at Bain and the jobs he did not create as he says. Who is Romney? What does he stand FOR? Does he plan to tell the People what his principles, platform, plans and solutions for OUR issues are or is he so arrogant he just thinks people will vote for someone who has shown no character, integrity, honor, or answers to any valid questions on job creation or the economy? The British people figured out Romney has no substance or character in less than 24 hours – so how much longer will it take Americans to wake up and figure out the same thing? Mitt is a wimp who will not take a position on anything. I will stand firm with President Obama who has shown us what a real leader, solution deliverer, People's President and brilliant foreign policy strong man he is. Real values. Real character. Real decision-maker. Great communicator. Real concern and action for the People. A REAL President.

On the cover of Newsweek...that means about 30 people will see the article. No problem. Talk about insecurity...Obama bows to anyone with a foreign accent.

Romney's for President of Lies, Distortion and Hate. The President of no details, just hate Obama...No spine, just hate Obama. This man is a worthless robot of the Tea Party...When is he ever going to tell the truth about anything, His taxes, His business, when was governor , his faith and his detailed vision for America. Instead he lies and distort others, like he did in the primary. I deal with many republicans who say he has no spine and that he is worse than John Kerry (And they cannot stand or trust him) . MITT STOP LYING TO AMERICA. GIVE AMERICA YOU DETAILED PLAN IF YOU HAVE ONE TO STICK TO.

But that is what has qualified Republican candidates for decades – the willingness to do whatever he's told by the one's who are really in control. For some it was craven, empty sycophancy (Bush, Bush, Romney), for others it was simple dementia (Reagan, McCain). For all, it's about carrying water for the money boys. Democrats choose their candidates; Republicans have their candidates chosen for them.

The main stream media's biased, partisan smear campaigns against Mitt Romney, while they protect and promote Barack Obama, are why their ratings are falling, and why they are loosing their credibility.
