(CNN) – Romney defended himself Sunday from an upcoming Newsweek cover that suggests he's a "wimp."
“If I worried about what the media said I wouldn’t get much sleep,” said Romney in an interview in with CBS’ “Face the Nation” in Jerusalem on Sunday. “And I’m able to sleep pretty well.”

Hitting the stands Monday, Newsweek's cover blares: “Romney: The Wimp Factor.” In smaller text, it asks: "Is he just too insecure to be president?"
The presumptive GOP nominee reiterated that he’s not worried about the "wimp" narrative in his interview, recalling similar criticism made of former President George H. W. Bush. Romney said Bush “was a great president.”
In 1987 Newsweek ran a cover of Bush, then-vice president, titled “Fighting the ‘Wimp Factor’.”
Bush went on to win the 1988 election Michael Dukakis.
Romney is currently in Israel on the second leg of a three country foreign tour.

Yeah, he has shrugged off the poor, the black, the hispanic, the asian, women, and the Middle Class while running for the Presidency!
If you have to tell everybody how tough you are it's a sign you are a wimp....or a bully ..Wimps with power are usually bullies...
It's ironic that Mit is sleeping at night but I haven't had a good night's sleep since he became the presumtive nominee. His rigid response to tax questions as well as his evasiveness of certain foreign matters may cause us to lose to the Dems.
All hail the Mormon messiah. His magic diaper will lead us into the promised land.
He's a pants on fire, first class wimp
Cheney said choosing Sarah Palin as vice president in 2008 was a mistake. Have Romney as the party nomminee that's another mistake. Because both dummbs. By the way cheney is one of them too
I do think that Romney, like George W. Bush, has some inadequacy and competition issues with his father. Sad truth is, neither Romney nor George W. measure up well next to their Dads. Long story short, we do not need another insecure George W. Bush as president.
I think 'wimp' is an injustice. I would suggest that a better description would be : "draft doging, lying, flip-flopping, cowardly cult member. But that's just me. Call me prejudiced.
Romney is not a wimp
Funny, he has always seemed like a wimp to me ... why is that?
Newsweek is so unoriginal. The cover is almost exactly the same as it was for George Bush.
No hes not a winp, a lier, a heartless soul seller, a cheat and a coward yes, a winp? No.
Is he a bully or a wimp? Liberal media, you need to get it straight.
And that's why I cancelled my Newsweek subscription years ago - it's a worn-our liberal rag!
Do we really care if Mitt is a wimp, I mean we know he is a greta guy and strong American so who cares if he is some sissy wimpy wimpet. He can marry all the wives he wants can you do that, he can baptize Jewish people after they are dead can you do that, he can buy up a company using a unions pension fund chop up the company sell it of in bits causing union members to lose their jobs and he makes a couple of million out of the deal can you do that, heck he can even make a dog ride on the roof of a car doing 70 on I95 can you do that? well can you punk?
Mitt if president can even take us to war with Iran even if he has to have 3-5000 American mend and women killed. Mitt can stand up against the lobbyists because he is a stand up guy can you?
Mitt talks tough, but when it was time for him to go into the service for our country MITT RAN OFF TO FRANCE. THE RAN AWAY FROM HIS COUNTRY AND KNOW HE WANTS TO GO ARROUNG THE WORLD TALKING TOUGH AND INSITING WARS.
It's easy to overcome the 'wimp factor' – just start a war – that's how George did it.
What?
What is there to doubt? There is absolutely nothing in Mittens' personal history that demonstrates anything other than the fact that he is a wimp as described.
Note that with six male members of the Romney family neither Mittens or any of his five sons have served in the military. In fact, to avoid service in the Vietnam War, Mittens high tailed it to Le Havre, France, where he was attempting to convert street walkers to Mormonism.
Maybe that took intestinal fortitude, but I think not.
Difference between Willard and HWBush is that HW was already vice President.
Willard(and his sons) on the other hand knows how to dodge military service like he dodges paying taxes.
It doesn't help that Willard just got punked by Netenyahooo regarding who to meet or not meet with while in Israel.
He also buckled to the Tea Party... the NRA... and Norquist.
He's all tough talk when he's giving a speech in front of the Right Wing Jews about Iran and Nuke control.
But he won't stand up to the NRA about gun control. Instead, says 'an evil person just needs a change of heart'.
Why doesn't this same principle apply on Iran?
VERDICT:WIMP
Obama on the other hand, doesn't need to rattle his sword. I think the world is highly aware that if he's laughing and being all cool in a crowded room, theres probably a seal team, or a drone on its way to send someone to their maker.
VERDICT: NOT-WIMP
Romney – "I am not a wimp"
Nixon – "I am not a crook"
Reagan – "I don't remember that"
He is a wimp,he has dancing horses for crying out loud.
When I was at the West Wall, as Romney was today, I asked for one thing, World Peace.
Did Romney ask for that? Probably not.
Hes a wimp at least to the point where he has to criticize a major ally in the world militarily. Then he runs and hides. Similar to his refusal to show his taxes or answer for the bain discrepancy. Hell, the british hardly no anything about the guy and they hate him overnight! The british are reasonble people and they dont like to be insulted. I heard a pollster say that the fact that nothing is happening in the campaign is a good thing for romney. Is that how he would address real problems? Because his floundering around in the public eye over a simple trip only portends what would happen in a bad situation.
Not a huge Romney fan, BUT what a hypocritical complaint!!! Where is the "wimp" cover with Obamas mug? His only bold moves have been to stop enforcing laws put in place by congress, appointing devient tax cheating czars all over the place, and cramming the largest tax increase and guaranteed failure of a policy ( ie Obamacare) down our throats! Was he manly bowing to a Saudi king? Or wearing a helmet and mOm jeans on his bike? Or setting his feet countless times on the historic desk in the oval office? His only bold move was tricking the goofball zombies into electing him. An Obama 2012 bumper sticker is a mark of shame, ignorance, and/or panhandling for handouts. Put him on the cover with the headline "D-bag Factor!"
