(CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton is experiencing a wave of favorability with two-thirds of Americans approving of him, a poll released Monday shows.
Clinton’s popularity comes as the politician prepares to officially enter President Barack Obama into nomination at the Democratic National Convention in September. A symbol of the Democratic Party, Clinton's favorability could help the president at the polls come Election Day.

Sixty-six percent of Americans now have a favorable view of Clinton, tying his approval rating at the time of his inauguration in January 1993, according to the Gallup poll.
Clinton almost reached this level of favorability twice during his second term as president. Since taking office, however, he has averaged around 56% favorability.
Obama’s current approval rating is 54%, according to the poll.
Polling data shows Clinton is broadly liked among the electorate and is even supported by Republicans by a slim margin of 50% to 44%.
The number of people viewing the former president as unfavorable is at a record low at 28%.
The Gallup poll was conducted from July 9-12 surveying a random sample of 1,014 adults. The sampling error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Congratulations to you President Clinton. Much health and happiness for you!
Time for Obama to give Hillary a call for veep. Biden great, but will be too old to run in 2016.
And...I think Biden is a team player and will step aside gracefully.
No matter how u slice it, OBAMA IS NO BILL CLINTON. I guess the Dems really think people are stupid. Bush may have put us in the red (& let's not forget with a Democrat controlled Congress too), but what did Obama come along and do?????? cue the crickets pls....
Obama came along and put the nail in the coffin on this economy!!!!
Of course he's popular. He's not making any decisions that directly affect anyone. It's easy to stand on the sidelines and "Ra Ra Ra" when you're not the one doing the work.
Poor George W. Bush. He has to be really depressed. He really left our country a mess. I really feel bad for Bush #41. He was actually a pretty good president.
Best and smartest president ever!! He understood the global world, he was intelligent with the economy, he connected to everyone, he was down to earth, he was a real leader and he was human. He and HIlary even worked through their issues and stuck together as a couple, overall, just a truly great president!
I find it interesting that during the last election Obama appeared to want nothing to do with Bill Clinton. This election, when he's forced to run on a less than steller record after shoving ObamaCare down our throats, the new African-American ONLY college money Executive Order and countless other disasters of his presidency now he wants to embrace Bill Clinton. Clinton definitely doesn't need Obama or the Democratic Party anymore so I don't know why he would lower himself to be used in this manner. I guess it really is true "Birds of a Feather Flock Together!"
I believe that if Bill Clinton ran forthe presidency again he would win again. he knw how to work the system.
"In other news, research shows Bill Clinton's family tree ties him to Colonel Sanders"
Grow up, all ye whiny Teatrolls. The epic good that man has done through his foundation easily trumps your petty, self-serving blather. How's it feel to be overshadowed by both his organ AND his organization?
Obama is the "president" and Clinton has absolutely NOTHING with the crap the Obama is doing to the U.S>
People better not vote Democratic just because Clinton gave a nice speech...
If people do vote for Obama just because Clinton gave a great speech, just proves how ignorant democrats can be.
Democrats are distancing themselves from Obama for Pete's sake...
No surprise. He was one of the best Presidents this country has ever had.
Just another lib who will be telling more lies to the American people, and Clinton is the best of the best in lying, with Obama on the top. Look at O's record, and that says it all. Those that spin his administration's good deeds have their head buried in something.
dems we have to get out the vote this year. we are being decimated with mone from other side... what is going on?
Whats good for bill is good for me
Mr. Romney's comments were not fumbles. The handling of the American economy was and is a fumble. The health care law was a fumble.
