Romney announces Polish American group

(CNN) - In the wake of his visit to Poland, Mitt Romney on Tuesday announced he was forming Polish Americans for Romney.

"Polish Americans share the love of individual liberty that makes our country exceptional, prosperous, and free," Romney said in a statement announcing the group shortly after he departed Poland following a two-day trip. "This community has made tremendous contributions to America spanning business, science, and more."

The statement said former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty - who is of Polish and German ancestry - is among the group's co-chairs. Pawlenty was a former candidate for the Republican presidential nomination and has been suggested as a possible vice presidential pick for Romney - although Pawlenty has refused to discuss the process.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Rep. Dan Benishek of Michigan, both of Polish descent, will also co-chair the group.

Romney visited Poland as part of a foreign trip which also took him to London and Israel over the last week.

In Warsaw on Tuesday, he said the U.S. draws inspiration from the people of Poland.

"Our nations belong to the great fellowship of democracies," Romney said. "We speak the same language of freedom and justice. We uphold the right of every person to live in peace. I believe it is critical to stand by those who have stood by America. Solidarity was a great movement that freed a nation. And it is with solidarity that America and Poland face the future."

Romney also landed well-wishes from Polish Solidarity movement leader Lech Walesa, who met with the candidate on Monday and was a founder of the first noncommunist government in the former Soviet bloc.

Pandering – plain and simple! This is what Mitt does best. I just wonder with what authority he can make an alliance like this. Oh, I get it, he is just trying to get Polish-Americans to donate and back him . . . Like I said, Pandering – plain and simple. If you think Mitt the Twitt cares one iota about Polish-Americans, I have a colony on the Moon you might be interested in. The only thing Mitt the Twitt cares about is getting the job of his dreams and appeasing his ubber-rich buddies. He doesn't even care about the base of his own Party. The right-winged extremist don't have enough cash to be in Mitt's inner-circle. . .
Thank God there is another choice – Obama 2012!!

OK conservatives, this is your time to shine. Let the talk of Romney splitting America into groups begin. I mean, clearly, this is pandering to the polish population. And why do we have hyphenated people anyway? They are not polish-americans. They are Americans. This stinks of racism. Romney is putting polish folks against non-polish folks. What would he say if someone created the Omani's for Obama?

Clever. This is an attempt to erode the Obama support in and around Chicago. In fact, erode the entire upper midwest. The highest concentrations of Americans of Polish descent live around the Great Lakes, with the highest concentrations in and around Chicago.

And all these people are saying the president is not an American let alone born there. John Sununu even
did not born in America, nor has any root from America, he is a Cuban, naturalized American. Is he American than
the president whose mother is an American.
Let Mitt Romney show his tax returns- A tax cheat.

Boring. What's amazing here is the stark contrast this draws between his "success" in Poland and the disasters he left in his wake in England and Israel. What, no English Amurikans for Romney or...*gasp*...what about Palestinian Amurikans for Romney? I think it's sortof a mark of how sort of tone-deaf and oblivious his campaign is that it would draw this distinction for us in its hurry to pander effectively and leverage what it thinks was done right during its trip in EU.

Wait, African-American, Polish-American,Puerto Rican-American, Cuban-American, Mexican-American, Canadian-American, etc.... wow, a lot of hyphenated people. I think America has already been splitting with Obama for awhile, anti-gay, pro-gay, anti-abortion, pro-abortion, anti-rich, etc..... Seems to me Obama has done a good job getting us split.

He doesn't have to form this group. Amercians of Polish descent already support him. They weren't stupid enough to fall for Obama's socialist BS in 2008 and certainly haven't seen anything from the empty suited failure to change their minds over the last 4 long years of disaster.

Produce the tax returns and long form birth certificate and then, run on YOUR record at Bain and YOUR overstay as governor in Massachusetts? Then, we'll count the votes.

Mitt for brains how do square a union pro-labor movement in Poland but not here in "Amercia". When Mitt the twit stops playing dodge the press, perhaps he can answer that question.
Willard, those tax returns - chop chop. The folks known as "you people" are not going to let this go away. Let's see when you left Bain, let's see how much you profited from shipping US jobs to China, let's see all the tax havens you use to hide money, let's see how you can amass so much in an IRA when "you people" are only allowed 4k/year, let's see just how little a percentage you have paid in taxes compared to people who actually make things.

"This stinks of racism. Romney is putting polish folks against non-polish folks. "

Let's not get carried away. Voter ID laws and "where's his bbirth certificate" are mired in racism. This falls squarely (and only) on the pandering side of things. He's trying to draw attention to the positive parts of his trip...like the glad-handing he got from that Polish leader (blanking on last name)....and draw attention away from the parts that were abysmal, like insulting England's Olympics efforts and insulting the Palestinian people in his errant effort to endear himself to the Israeli public. This isn't racism though. It's pathetic, but it's not racism.

Mormons believe that the Catholic Church went off course with Christianity in about 300 A.D. and that Joseph Smith rescued "the church" from apostasy by inventing the Mormon faith.

Catholics think that Mormons belong to one of the "sillier made-up religions."

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, apparently ...

  20. Solidarity Does Not Support Romney

"Solidarity was a great movement that freed a nation."

That same Solidarity federation has put out a statement making clear that they "did not invite" Romney because of his history of union-busting.

"Regretfully, we were informed by our friends from the American headquarters of trade union AFL-CIO, which represents more than 12 million employees ... that Mitt Romney supported attacks on trade unions and employees' rights," Solidarity said in a statement.

Supporting Solidarity while criticizing unions at the same time: Flippity-flop-flopity-flip-flip-flop. This is the height of unbelievable hypocrisy. Does Romney have any integreity whatsoever?

Pandering once again. Yet still no taxes...
The POTUS is FORCED to show his birth certificate, yet everyone in the country is willing to overlook Willard REFUSING to show his taxes but now the same people want the presidents transcripts. You people are pathetic and you will all be bent forward if Willard and Queen Anne get into the White House.

  25. The Real Tom Paine

The whole reason for going to Poland was to appeal to Polish-American voters in IL and MI.....I have never heard of Plish Americans being described as a swing-voter group, but, hey, evidently Mitt thinks they are important. So he naturally panders to them by including their hiomeland ina trip. If Mitt thought he could peel votes away from the Democrats by talking up his Mexican roots, he would do a 180 and head to Mexico City for a fundraiser there......no, that would be pandering, and we know he has such frim convictions he would NEVER do something that blatant-wait, he's done it before? ITS THE MEDIA'S FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
