Was Romney's trip 'a great success' or gaffe-filled disaster?

Warsaw (CNN) - In the estimation of Mitt Romney and his top campaign aides, there were no gaffes, no mistakes, no ill-advised statements on the Republican candidate's overseas trip.

The poorly timed comments? No big deal. The remarks in Israel that inflamed the Palestinians? Overblown. The off-color words to the press by a Romney aide Tuesday? In the heat of the moment.

  2. IF YOU SIGNED GROVER'S PLEDGE, YOU ARE A TRAITOR TO THE U.S.

If this was a political science course, this trip would be discussed as what NOT to do in a political campaign when traveling abroad. The late night talk shows are going to have a ball with this stuff.

Fiscal 2009 – the last of George W. Bush’s presidency – federal spending rose by 17.9% from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion.
Fiscal 2010 – the first budget under Obama – spending fell 1.8% to $3.46 trillion.
Fiscal 2011, spending rose 4.3% to $3.60 trillion.
Fiscal 2012, spending is set to rise 0.7% to $3.63 trillion.
Fiscal 2013 – the final budget of Obama’s term – spending is scheduled to fall 1.3% to $3.58 trillion.
Overall rise from $3.52 trillion to $3.58 trillion over 4 years = annualized increase of 0.4%.

THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE. Obama has increased spending less than any POTUS since EISENHOWER.

A complete fiasco that makes Romney look even more inept, ouy of touch and frankly, unprepared for anything (especially higher office). Goodbye Mittens.

Why is it that CNN only asks these types of rhetorical questions about Republicans? Hmmmmmm.

Romney is just another arrogant Republican blow-hard who can't own up to anything. He goes around the world acting like an ignoramous and, of course, it's everyone else's fault but his. He looked like an idiot and he reminded the US and the rest of the world what is was like when George W Bush was at the helm. Do we really want that again?

This clown has no business being President.

"Politics is so borng. Thankfully.., we have the media.to tell us who not to vote for.."

Seeing as how all they've done is broadcast the words that came out of Mittens' very own mouth, your whining is pathetic. Mittens is doing just fine on his own telling us not to vote for him.

Was Biden's trip 'a great success' or gaffe-filled disaster?

Ironically, we've never seen this headline before...

"awkward, gaffe-filled, embarrassment. some world leaders are scratching their heads as well as most americans. "

Even Karl "Turdblossom" Rove said something along the lines of "you have to shake your head" and wonder what Mittens was thinking with some of what he said over there.

Aaaaaw, the "poor me" "victim of the media" poutrage is really in full effect for you guys, eh? Please. Every time Biden has said something stupid or strange, it's been the talk of the town for days. The difference is that it's usually not as offensive as telling an entire people that they have a crappy economy because their culture is broken...although it wouldn't be terribly far from the truth if someone finally had th eballs to just stand up and say exactly that to the American people.

Romney's stunning lack of knowlege regarding foreign affairs coupled with his insenitivity and awkward, stiff personality show how completely unsuited he is to be POTUS. Sorry, some of you may not like Obama, but Mitt is simply not the answer. Too bad you don't have a decent candidate. Dispite Obama's many accomplishments so far, the 8% unemployment rate, his fault or not, makes him very vulnerable. But it is not simply a choice not to reelect him just because of the unemployment rate, it is a choice between two candidates and two courses of action. On both accounts Romney fails – he is not close to being ready for prime time as POTUS, has no principles he is willing to stick to (flip-flopper-in-chief), and he has almost nothing to offer, except the failed trickle-down economics and deregulation that led to the economic mess in the first place.

LOL....Do you guys at CNN really have to ask ? Mr. Romney probally is a good bussiness man ( depending on just how and at what cost to peoples lifes ) Yes his connection to the average person is not there. Can he be a successful POTUS ? Sure . Would the people get back to work ? Yes But ill tell you this, The wealthy people will become even wealthyer and it will be at the cost of the middle class and the poor people of this country in the long run. So, my answer is clear Mr. Romney did not have a successful political trip and he is not the kind of man we need leading this great nation. He has continueally shown a total Lack of the Leadership of any POTUS has ever shown in my History and I'm 60 years old.

Yeah right and in Willard's world, pigs fly and you wear magic underwear. Please. We all know what we saw and read. Mittens is not ready for primetime and he's definitely not ready to be POTUS.

I keep saying the same thing but I'll say it again, rethuglicans are the biggest hypocrites ever. They take something President Obama says completely out of context and you spin. Then you turn around and insult an entire nation but that's not what you meant??

Come on Willard! Man up! If you were to be elected POTUS (and I pray to God and Jesus you aren't), you will have to deal with all kinds of people, including media other than Faux Noise.

Show us the taxes Willard, and thanks for the early Christmas present of you showing the world what a nincompoot you really are!

Don't know what the Romney camp thinks, but as for me, it was wildly successful – – for the Democratic Party! Get kind of misty just thinking about all the wonderful mistakes, missteps, and cluelessness. They should have sent Rifalka. The high point for me was hearing Romney wax poetic about the wonderful statistics re: healthcare and coverage that help maintain Israel's robust economy – – you know, the highly socialized, strictly mandated healthcare system. That one. Just like (or even more stringent than) the system Romney set up for Massachusetts. What a maroon! ;-)

"Obama spend somewhere around $730 million in his 2008 presidential campaign and now we're not seeing those same dollars coming in, why? What happened to all the foreign donations Obama got in 2008? Remember when he wouldn't disclose the names of donors. This time it does feel different than 2008."

Nope, actually, we don't remember that...you know...seeing as how the only reason Mittens is able to run around claiming that bundlers got sweet appiontments, etc., is because Obama disclosed them. You know who ISN'T disclosing his major donors and bundlers though? Yeah, that's right...Mittens. He threw those lists in the circular filing cabinet along with his tax returns, records of his Olympics management and records of his MA governorship.

Disaster is too strong. If I made that trip and all those gaffs, I'd be embarrassed. If Mr. Romney thought this trip made him look Presidential, or stateman-like- not so much. More like the ugly American abroad.

maybe because the Republicans have no foreign affairs skills anymore? Certainly they're not diplomatic.

The real Mitt Romney showed up. He gave a CEO's appraisal of the London Olympics. His campaign said that his remarks were not intended to be an insult towards Palestineans, and I believe him. Romney is so out of touch that his own campaign doesn't realize that they are admitting that their candidate is out of touch. He goes to Poland where he praises labor unions as prominent examples of freedom in action, while all of us at home know that he's against unions. We can see that he is making himself look like a hypocrite and Lech Walesa look like an uninformed fool.

Overall, I would say that the trip was an overwhelming success for the Obama campaign.
