Palin to Cheney: Careful where you aim

(CNN) – Don't expect to see Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney on an elk hunt anytime soon.

The former Alaska governor slammed Cheney Tuesday for his assertion that it was a mistake to put her on the 2008 GOP ticket, saying the former vice president was being influenced by the "lamestream media."

Appearing to reference a now-infamous incident from 2006 when Cheney accidentally shot a campaign contributor on a quail hunt, Palin said sarcastically that Cheney was not known for his "misfires."

"Seeing as how Dick – excuse me, Vice President Cheney – never misfires, then evidently he's quite convinced that what he had evidently read about me by the lamestream media, having been written, what I believe is a false narrative over the last four years, evidently Dick Cheney believed that stuff and that's a shame," Palin said in an appearance on Fox News.

On Sunday, Cheney said in an interview he felt it was a "mistake" for then-GOP nominee John McCain to choose Palin as his running mate.

Cheney said Palin failed to meet the number one requirement for a vice president: a readiness to step into the top job if needed.

"Based on her background, she was only governor for two years, I don't think she passed that test of being ready to take over. And I think that was a mistake," Cheney said in an interview with ABC News.

McCain himself pushed back on Monday, saying he was proud of Palin and what the pair accomplished four years ago.

"I'm always glad to get comments four years later," McCain added sarcastically.

Palin said Tuesday the real mistake would have been turning down McCain's invitation to join the GOP ticket.

"Here's where the mistake would have been, I believe. If I had not answered the call," Palin said. "I was honored to run for the vice president of the United States alongside Sen. John McCain. I was honored to accept the nomination from the GOP."

Citing her approval ratings as governor, Palin said it would have been easier for her to "have hunkered down, live that luxurious live, if you will, in Alaska."

Quoting lyrics from Dire Straits, Palin said she was being targeted by members of her own party.

"Sometimes you're the Louisville Slugger, baby, and sometimes you're the ball," Palin said. "Evidently, in these last months, per many many comments from those within the GOP establishment, I'm the ball."

    What?

@Twit – it would be refreshing if the LSM would quote her correctly but their goal is to make her sound like a jerk. They've succeeded and now we are left with a Marxist.
    ________________________________________________________________________________________________
    1. They quoted her verbatim from a Faux Noise interview, what more do you want? Perhaps the MSM could correct her grammar for her, I suppose.
    2. You sound as juvenile as Palin with the lamestream media reference. Yet I also note here you are on an "LSM" site. I take you for a hypocrite like Sarah
    3. Please give me an example of how President Obama is following Marxism and then we'll have a debate on that.

    That's What.

    Who likes Cheney?
But Palin brought all this ridicule on herself. She was not qualified .. Is not qualified..
She got out there thinking she could "wing it' for the second most powerful job in the world.. And of course she did NOT have the experience to pull it off... She was and still is, about 99% arrogance.. And most people just are not stupid enough to buy it.. The fact she thought so, and probably still thinks so.. Is just laughable..
Thank goodness she never made it into the white house..
She is a celebrity.. Thats about it.. A reality star.. Nothing more..
We need to move on and let her go hunting or fishing or something..
She is a one trick pony....

Her idiotic sniping back at him only proves his point – which by the way, is the only thing I can agree with Cheney about!

"Cheney said Palin failed to meet the number one requirement for a vice president: a readiness to step into the top job if needed." Hell, even Nixon wasn't as bad as a crook and liar as Cheney, he doesn't have room to talk giving his record.

But it is true she was a bad choice, besides she couldn't even finish her governor terrm, she paid a 500 bucks to hunters to fly airplanes and helicopters for each wolf shot from the sky and the hunters render the wolf tail to her.

Poor people, poor America, poor newsmakers. Sarah has done a great job, continuing to tangle up the existing regime implemented in Bush Sr, times, who began destroying the economy the nation, life of all. Now the train is in wreck mode and the regime of Bush, Clinton, Bush/Cheney, Clinton/ Obama is heading to the cliff. And Sarah smiles.

Can't believe i'm siding with dick cheney. She was a half term goveneor of a state with more moose than people in it. Apparently she has trouble remembering what she was saying without checking what is scribbled on her hand or if she reads any magazines. ALSO, if i ever have to hear the phrase "lame-stream media" again i'm going to barf. Stop your whining lady and grow a pair. That's all the GOP does lately. Cheney, evil though he may be, at least had a pair. "Yeah i shot a guy in the face, what of it?"

  10. Evidently Palin is a Dimwit

"...evidently he's quite convinced that what he had evidently read about me by the lamestream media, having been written, what I believe is a false narrative over the last four years, evidently Dick Cheney believed that stuff and that's a shame," Palin said in an appearance on Fox News.

"Evidently, in these last months, per many many comments from those within the GOP establishment, I'm the ball."

And this year's award for greatest overuse of a word in a single interview goes to...

Let me guess... today's word on Mama Grizzly's Word-a-Day calendar is 'evidently', am I right?

Her son Trig probably has a larger vocabulary than she does!

"Lamestream Media" that's all she's got? Poor girl and a bit nasty and rude to boot....I hear that Hooterville is looking for a new mayor perhaps she should run.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Cheney gets his information from sources a little closer to the government than the 'LSM'. Isn't she cute how she can make up words for things she doesn't like while appearing on and getting big bucks from the very 'LSM' she denounces? Mr. Cheney, you are spot on this time!

What's Palin affinity with making comments referencing male body parts("Seeing as how Dick – ...") below the waist. Recall some of her past comments?

I think it was great when V P Cheney said that – maybe more of the politicians should say what they think about her. He was absolutely right – I didn't vote for McCain once he picked her as his running mate – I had thought I would vote for him, but when she appeared on the stage, and it was discovered how lacking she was in just ordinary talk. She was very ignorant about history, Europe, and just about everything.

Palin wasn't prepared and she was an embarrassment to the GOP. That's was the major reason i voted for the democracts.

Cheney stated that Palin was not ready for becoming President. Palin's response is that that was a false impression created by mainstream media.

Nope, Palin, it was your own greed and self-centeredness in seeing yourself above your own party and above the nation as a whole. You have connected very well with a fringe of the GOP but never cared for the country's people as a whole. You just ignored the majority as un-American.

Reflectiveness has never been your strong suit. Start working on it now.

Palin is such a crybaby. It's always 'the media' that's out to get her, she can never take responsibility for her own faults and mistakes. At least Cheney is honest enough not to try to pretend to be a nice person or pretend that the media is 'out to get him'.

Her 15 minutes has been up for a long time. If she doesn't have something maybe backed by real facts, or some accomplishent of some type, other than cute sayings, why are we still reporting anything about her.

I still find it hilarious that McCain still can't bring himself to admit that picking Palin as his running-mate was a major factor in his losing the election. All it did was make Palin richer beyond her wildest dreams and you know she doesn't have the integrity to cut him in on it.

Dick Chenney and his stupid comments are dividing the Republicans and giving aid the boob in the White House.

Everyone just needs to ignore him, so he will shut up and go away.

Of course, CNN in it's attempt to re-elect the worst President in our Nation's history will keep dragging it up, hoping the public is dumb enough to fall for their biased reporting.

I think we are all being played here. Cheney very deftly has put one of the Repbulicans favorite attack dogs back in play for the election. Sarah Palin was almost gone, and now we are taliking about her again. Distracting us from issues and into fast food politics and crazy talk. Well played Cheney, no wonder you look so smug.

All Cheney said about her was that she was govennor for only two years and wasn't ready.....this has NOTHING to do with the "narrative" about her by the "lamestream media". What she doesn't see is that her own words and actions provided the "narrative" and the "lamestream" media merely reported it.
