Romney and RNC make largest weekly buy

Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee have bought $8.2 million for a week of ad time beginning Wednesday in eight battleground states - the largest amount spent on behalf of the presumptive nominee in the general election media campaign, according to a Republican source tracking ad buys.

The RNC started last week spending some of the funds it is allowed to use to coordinate with the Romney campaign and is continuing this week. This allows Team Romney to avoid spending some of its money but still stay on the air as its candidate is being pummeled with millions of dollars of attack ads from the Obama re-election campaign.

Romney campaign officials have routinely refused to discuss the specifics of its ad spending or where its commercials are running.

According to CNN's ad consultant Campaign Media Analysis Group/Kantar Media, a Romney ad talking about layoffs in the car industry, which just premiered, is running in Ohio while a new biography spot with the candidate touting his business background is up in Iowa. Also, a commercial in which he talks about providing the right kind of leadership justapoxed with comments from the president is on the air in North Carolina.

In addition, the RNC is up separately with its own ad hitting the Obama stimulus plan.

The Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee, which started coordinating ad spending last week as well, bought $5.3 million of ad time in the same eight states between July 21 and this Friday, and a separate $3.5 million for commercials running for a week ending Thursday.

Below is a breakdown of the Romney/RNC buy:
Colorado: $958,405
Florida: $1,918,250
Iowa: $783,760
North Carolina: $808,105
New Hampshire: $88,875
Nevada: $610,305
Ohio: $1,620,140
Virginia: $1,464,805

Sorry Mittens, the presidency can not be bought and people are sure not buying what you are selling. You are done.

The fact that Flip has to spend money in states that he should easily take (NC/VA/NV/NH–if things are as bad as he says) goes to show how poorly he is doing. Nevada has a large Mormon population and NH is right next door to his "home" state (although I thought that was MI??). What's up Flip? A little desperate??

Funny...PA is not on that list. Could that be because they think PA is in the bag with all the Philly voters they're trying to screw out of the right to vote with their Voter ID nonsense? I mean, for crying out loud, PA actually stipulated in the lawsuit that they have zero evidence of individual voter fraud of the type that the IDs would prevent and that they wouldn't even make the argument. The governor couldn't even say what types of IDs are permissible and the Secretary of State, who is in charge of implementing and enforcing the law, TESTIFIED IN COURT that she doesn't know how the law works. How can she implement and enforce it and then certify election results if she doesn't know how it works? THE GOP IS TRYING TO STEAL THE ELECTION THROUGH VOTER SUPPRESSION. It is a FACT....and CNN and the rest of the MSM shoudl be ashamed for their refusal to report on just how serious and real the threat is to our democracy from these shenanigans.

So secretive, they are. By the dark side, their future is clouded. With the Chosen One, we must hold hope.

Imagine what a Romney administration White House press briefing would be like. "Show some respect. Kiss....". You know the rest. If you don't then you have not been paying attention.

So how's Obama's taxpayer $25 billion investment in GM doing? It is dropping and dropping, off about 30% from it's high in February. It's not good to play the stock market with taxpayer dollars. But then again, Obama has a different perspective on taxpayer dollars as the rest of us. He's got a bunch of Bozo's on this board brainwashed into thinking high taxes are good. Huh?

@Four And the Door, just like the bozo's on Romney's team. They can't talk their way out of a wet paper bag. You better be bringing in millions or you are screwed just like the rest of us if Robme is elected. Admit that you hate the black man it has nothing to do with policies, because My President Obama has been working as hard as ever to keep the middle class going, while Romney and his toads have been robbing us blind. Tell your boy to cough up those tax returns. He knows that his sheep don't care, but the rest of America does. Better yet you need to be looking for a new candidate, because he is going down.

Mittens spent $15 million on negative ads in Florida to destroy, Newt, Paul and Santorum, during the primary. The republicans bought into his lies, and since most are not very bright gave him 30 delegates. Right about now, I'll bet they wish they could have a do over. KMA Mittens.

Boy!!! POOR POOR ROMNEY!!! He's just getting ATTACKED ATTACKED ATTACKED AND PUMMELED by President Obama and his Campaign, when all He and His Campaign ever does is "hit". What an unfair fight on the part of President Obama and His Campaign to ATTACK with "Calls For the Truth...to ATTACK with "A Call For Romney to Detail His Planned Policies"...to ATTACK with "A Call for Romney to Release Relevant Tax Record" when all Romney and His Campaign is doing is "hitting with harmful little lies"...altering President Obama's Campaign Speeches to make it look like he said something they know he didn't say, and placing the parts of those altered speeches in Ads...and then finding PEOPLE (WHO KNOW THAT THOSE ARE LIES, AS ALMOST EVERYBODY DOES) WHO FOR SOME BUCKS WILL APPEAR IN THOSE ADS THEN SHOW UP ON TV LATER TO SAY THAT THEY KNEW THE ADS WERE LIES, BUT AGREED TO BE IN THEM. Poor Poor Romney!!! If only President Obama would stop ATTACKING him. Gee...soon he will have to release another ad and merely "hit" back.

Mr. Romney needs to watch these RNC ads. Some of them might just make him realize that the RNC ads do not help him. They reinforce the idea that Congress has done nothing the past 2 years. Most people understand that a president is limited to what he can do and what he can declare. Much of the lack of movement with the economy falls squarely on the shoulders of Republicans in Congress. Case in point, the votes on candidates for judicial positions, etc. The failure to enact legislation regarding taxes and rthere is much more.

Wouldn't it be something if the presumptive nominee didn't get the nomination? With that said, wow, getting desperate are we? Spend, Spend, Spend. He must have seen the polls that he is behind in at least three of the battle ground states. Of course he'll pick his VP from one of the swing states to try to get them to vote for him because of his VP pick.

The GOP is trying to cover the buffoon Romney's gaffes with these ads and hope that voters would believe the negative ads against Obama. That is not going to happen.

meanwhile Priebus and the boys are sitting there with their fingers and toes crossed hoping for another bad jobs report to come out Friday so they can blame Obama for the whole thing. They probably already have their attcks written up. The GOP wants the economy to improve and jobs to increase upward..........uh only after 2012 and if Romney wins of course.
