New York (CNNMoney) – Businesses stepped up their hiring in July, but the unemployment rate ticked higher.
Employers added 163,000 jobs in the month, the Labor Department reported Friday, way up from June when the economy added 64,000 jobs.

I guess Obama was projecting an even worse unemployment rate and lucked up with more jobs than expected. Obama has been in office long enough to do better than this. Gesh!!!!!
Mitt Romney's tax cut plans will mean one of two things. We will be saddled with $500 billion of new deficit every year for the next ten years, or he will need to cut an additional $500 billion over and above the $100 billion in cuts mandated by sequestration.
If the Congress cannot agree on 100, how will they agree on an extra 500? They won't. Everyone except the Tea Party knows that severe austerity measures does not create jobs and economic growth. You can look at Europe and see the results of austerity, a recession that is reaching across the pond to us.
Hey, hey, hey!!! – But the Republicans will look at the % UP instead of the 163,000 jobs added – Just watch, Mittens is already forming his lips to RAG on OBAMA!!! Instead of the Republicans “embracing” the fact that we are adding jobs – they will complain about how slow it is when they can do a lot more to speed it up – But OH, that would give President Obama credit and the Republicans main goals is to make him a “one-term President” …………. That CRAP is backfiring!!!
The percentage rate going up means MORE people are looking for jobs – that's the real deal and you can't spin that... PERIOD!!

What is sad is that our economy and the average American would be better well off if the repubs had not adopted a policy of obstructionism and placed America above party. They cannot grasp the fact that if your party is not in power, you do not set the agenda. They are continuing this divisive and destructive policy on two very important pieces of legisjation, the farm and cybersecurity bills. We need to take America back and vote the extremist repubs out.

the hiring has increased yet the unemployment number moved up a percentage point? Well Iguess the latter gives Priebus and the GOP a little bit of good news to gripe about. After all that percentage point creep up is all Obama's fault.

It is better than last month but not good enough. We need to know what kind of jobs are out there so there can be the training for that kind of job; if programmers are needed, then get people trained to do that; same goes for welders, mechanics etc.
The government is the biggest drag on the economy! Oh wait....
