Romney blasts Obama on jobs report, says he paid taxes

Washington (CNN) - A glass half-full or emptying fast? Depends on who you listened to Friday as President Barack Obama and certain Republican nominee Mitt Romney described the July jobs report at competing public appearances.

Flanked by what he called middle-class Americans at the White House, Obama said the July figures showed 29 straight months of job growth, including 1.1 million new jobs this year, following the recession that was in place when he took office in January 2009.

Considering that WE started at -750,000/month and are now running at +150,00/month, I would say that a 900,000 per month turn around is quite remarkable. Most especially when you consider that most of the reversing took place as the Stimulus kicked in throughout 2010.

What is a moral failure, is Romney claiming that he will create 12 million jobs in his first term as president, but he is turning a deaf ear to the pleas of roughly 170 employees whose jobs at Sensata Technologies in Freeport, Illinois are being outsourced to China by Bain Capital by the end of 2012. As Potus he would simply look the other way as private industry continues to outsource more jobs overseas.

certain things Romney and the GOP do NOT want to tell you....first of all when they ask "where are the jobs?" they should in fact be asking "where are the people?" There are many jobs available in the growing areas of healthcare and electronics and computers, lots of jobs in the oil industry...but the problem is that there are not enough qualified people to fill them. And unlike in Mitt's day corporations do NOT want to spend the time nor money to train people anymore. So how do people become trained? You EDUCATE them. And what is one of the first things the GOP likes to cut in a budget? EDUCATION! Then when you do have those that want to become trained or educated for certain fields you have the costs do unaffordable that they can not go to school. The only ones that can go to school are the well to do or upper income class......and if you happen to point this out you are accused of starting CLASS WARFARE! Do a bit of research like the righties do not like to do and see the whole story.

"you think the american people are this stupid????????"

...asked the guy who believes the following: "If we just keep giving all the wealth and income and assets to the people who are already extremely rich, they'll eventually reach a magical threshhold at which they no longer want to consolidate, horde and keep a stranglehold over all their wealth, at which point the wealth will trickle down to the unwashed masses."

Derpanomics: Because you're either stupid, powerless to stop us or most likely both.

    >You fail, Mr. Romney.

no, he's telling you unemployment is increasing again to 8.3% and remains at record levels for record lengths of time. you fail to grasp that we are in the obama job depression.

"We haven't had to come back from an economic crisis this deep or this painful since the 1930s," Obama said. "But we also knew that if we were persistent, if we kept at it and kept working, that we'd gradually get to where we need to be."

I think Harry Reid is just helping President Obama distract the voters and in his usual old tricks he'll create a comment that he knows will get voters upset towards Romney and forget all those people standing in the unemployment line. If Harry Reid really has a source all he has to do is produce the source, Harry Reid started it so he should finish it by bringing forth this person that saw Romney's tax returns and knows Romney did not pay taxes. If this person lied than punishment for such a lie should be applied, especially if the person lied to Harry Reid and has put Reid in this position of embarrassment.

    Wait a minute!
"Specifics of the plan...........would be worked out only when the proposals are fully formulated in a Romney
    administration"??
So, he will keep his plans secret, as he does everything else, and we are supposed to vote for him on blind faith?
This guy disgusts me more every day.

Remember, the regime said that if we gave a trillion dollars in tax money to the corrupt unions, friends of the democrat liberal pary, the dope addict and the welfare frauds that unemployment would not rise above 8% and would be at 6% by 2012. Of course the the NEA educated masses believed him because the liberally biased media told them it was true and thus the "stimulus" was passed, and prior to that the democrat liberal bill to raise the minimum wage. Who has the old ideas? Maybe the Obama campaign should just stick to picking at Romney's tax return and Ms. Romney's horse and hope that no one notices how they LIED. The liberally biased press will not breathe a word of it.

Given the amoutn of flip-flopping Mittens does, I'm sure what he means is "today, when I think back and try to remember, I believe I paid taxes, but that may change tomorrow...or if you look at my tax returns...stay tuned....I'll keep saying I did until you prove me wrong, at which point I'll deny I said I did and make up some lame, cowardly excuse while wetting my magic pampers."

The American People want to see HOW MUCH taxes you paid (as a percentage) compared to the average joe. The American People want to know how many jobs you off-shored and how much you have sitting in off-shore accounts evading taxes. Put up or STFU Mitt!!!!!!!

So you are saying that the best Obama can do is to keep the unemployment rate at 8% or higher for the next 4 years? After nearly 4 years all he can do is barely keep the largest economy on the planet making a few jobs??? We could have elected a stuffed monkey in 2008 to get those kinds of results.

If Obama ran a company and got results like this he would have been fired years ago or else the company would have gone out of business. 4 more years of Obama and the USA will be out of business and bankrupt as well.

The Dali-Bama does not have a clue..........his only idea is take from the rich and give to the poor. Well gee, how many poor people started companies and businesses.......................oh that would be ZERO
Companies are not hiring because there is too many things up in the air, they don't know about taxes, health care, too much government intervention in their day to day operations. They don't know what to plan for in the future.......so they are in limbo

More jelously, class warfare, and diversion from Democrats. They want to talk about anything other than the epic failures of Obama. History is not going to be kind when it looks back at these fours years of pitiful leadership – if you could call it leadership.

How stupid do you have to be to think that a guy running for President may not have paid his taxes? Who do you think the IRS audits most, the guy making 50,000 W2 income a year or the guy making 500,00 or more in investment income – the answer is the rich guy. I don't care how much Romney made last year let alone 10 years ago .. he worked for it and has paid his taxes based on the system in place today. Your Jealousy, envy and desire to know his private business do not diminish his right to privacy. So why don't you post your tax returns to Facebook before demanding other to publish theirs

This I am convinced of: Romney is NOT qualified to criticize Obama about job numbers considering the fact that Romney sent thousands, if not millions, of existing and potential American jobs away from America to China and other countries which are probably the greatest contributors to his campaign! As if sending all those jobs overseas, causing so many American families to lose their jobs here, he has done all he could to not pay taxes to this country. And he says he wants to be the President of the United States of America? Romney is a traitor! Why should America make this traitor zillionaire our President.

"and prior to that the democrat liberal bill to raise the minimum wage. "

I see that this new talking point trying to claim that the recession and unemployment were somehow caused by raising the minimum wage must have been added to the talking point memos in the past day or so, since it's just surfacing here today. Or did your Alphabets spell it out for you this morning?

Newsflash: the Stimulus was mostly tax cuts, deductions and incentives. You're just admitting they don't work by attacking it in the manner you do.

to Bing.....so which part will history be un-kind about
    .......killing Bin Laden?
    .......killing Al Awlaki?
.......the stock market increasing 8 trillion $'s (largest first year term increase in history)
    ......the US auto industry comeback
......ending the 2 wars that Bush started but couldn't finish

Which of these will history be unkind about?

yikes.... barely keeping our head above water after 4years is how obama and you define recovery. i guess we can all tread water for another 4 years and continue this great recovery. many can't and are drowning, along with their families. and all obama has to throw them are more cinder blocks.

obama has kept the country down so long that crawling onto the curb is tauted as a great achievement. pretty sad and pathetic. this country can and will do so much better once obama has been replaced.
