Romney blasts Obama on jobs report, says he paid taxes

Washington (CNN) - A glass half-full or emptying fast? Depends on who you listened to Friday as President Barack Obama and certain Republican nominee Mitt Romney described the July jobs report at competing public appearances.

Flanked by what he called middle-class Americans at the White House, Obama said the July figures showed 29 straight months of job growth, including 1.1 million new jobs this year, following the recession that was in place when he took office in January 2009.

I think Harry Reid is just helping President Obama distract the voters and in his usual old tricks he'll create a comment that he knows will get voters upset towards Romney...........

I want to see someone interview Mittens and treat him like the arrogant punk bully he really is. Maybe just razz him until he throws a hissy fit. You know his smiles are fake and condescending and what he's really thinking is "boy, I wouldn't even take a towel from this guy if he was standing by the bathroom door offering them to people at my men-only countryclub." Maybe give him the Kevin Neelan subliminal guy routine and just add the words "tax returns" after every single thing you say to him or ask him. "What can you tell us about your position on Syria tax returns?" Get him real angry...I guarantee you the petulant, foot-stomping, privileged brat who never got denied a single thing in his life and never had to go without anything he ever wanted will shine right through when the temper tantrum kicks off.

Romney has nothing to run on, his record as governor sucked, his living off bailouts in the olympics is not a success story, and his government bailouts at Bain while shipping jobs overseas was anti American.

The only people jealous of Mitt Romney's wealth are his fellow conservatives.

Let me teach you a lesson in life. It is human nature to judge other people's actions and words by what we, ourselves, would do in the same situation or scenario. It is natural to do that. Our brains learn by association. However, it is wrong to judge and make decisions that way. The jealously charge is a conclusion reached through subjective analysis instead of objective analysis. Conservatives have missed the point, and will never get it until they stop looking at the world from such self centered points of view.

"If Harry Reid really has a source all he has to do is produce the source"

Nope. Sorry. Mittens has the burden of proof here. He has had the burden of proof from the beginning. Because he has failed to carry said burden, he has opened himself up to all sorts of allegations, accusations and assumptions and all he has to do to prove them wrong is live up to the American peoples' expectations that those who wish to reside in the WH will be honest, honorable and forthright enough and show the minimal integrity it requires to publicly disclose their tax returns so they can show that they've paid them and not avoided them.

Here's the question for all the Kool-aid drinkers thinkin the last three years have been better under Obama, why is it more people are living on welfare, food stamp under his watch, US spending is more than all presidens before him combine had spent, cost of gas is now double, senate hasn't passed a required budget in three years, trillion dollar + stimulus and health care which hasn't done anything for the economy and all the Dems want to talk about is old tax returns. Will an old tax return fix me not having a job or keeping food on the table? NO!!! My hope is wearing thin on promises and all I have left is change in my pocket since Obama took office.. Hopefully Nov brings a change to the DO NOTHING senate and the white house. Remember people, the last two years of Bush, the Dems where in charge of the house and senate and Clinton was reelected due to Rep control of congress and had a balanced budget.

Romney refuse to show his tax because Bain capital is an equity company, which more then like invested in sub prime mortgage loan, his company would service the loan's, then discount the note, the collateral would be the home's, making a huge profit, Along with his other activities he is trying to hide his earning's.

what burden of proof??? proof of what??? nobody is required to reveal personal and confidential financial information to run for political office. has obama proven that he is still not beating his wife???

Harry Reid is making an accusation of Romney, Reid carries the burden of proof, not Romney. If Reid cannot provide proof that Romney did not pay his taxes than Reid needs to stop falsely accusing Romney. Reid started it, he has to finish it. Is very simple, Reid produces his source of information, such person is questioned by the IRS, Senators, Congressmen, Romney,etc.... as to how he/she came to such information and if he/she can produce evidence to back such an accusation. Very simple.

-the number of people on public assistance is a reflection of the depth of the recession trickle down took us to.
-Spending? Bush's own advisor predicted trillion dollar deficits within a decade. They fired him.
-Gas has doubled? Gas is stil cheaper than before the global finanical crisis hit and cut demand. Rising prices is a sign of increased demand. Economists call it recovery.
-Ronald Reagan never passed a budget, either. He had 18 continuing resolutions because Congress could not agree.
-Stimulus? 80% of economists say the Stimulus averted a complete economic crash. Look it up.
-Tax Returns? When Romney finally released one, he was forced to go back and make major revisions to his most recent financial disclosure statement with the FEC. Somehow, he forgot to disclose all of that off shore stuff.
-Do nothing Senate? They have done plenty. They passed a bipartisan highway bill. Boehner shelved it.
-Last two years of Bush? The mortgage meltdown began in 2006, which gave birth to the Great Recession in 2007.
-Balanced Budget? Do you realize that Bush started $300B in the green and finished $1.5T in the red? Guess not.

"Remember people, the last two years of Bush, the Dems where in charge of the house and senate "

And the whole time the GOP set records for filibusters and Bush set records with the veto pen. Kinda hard to lie about it and pretend that the Dems are to blame whle in control when the rules are such that the minority party can simply prevent them from doing anything at all....but hey, look at you, you managed to tell that lie like a champ. Kudos!

If you people want to whine about jobs go ahead. Blame private industry they are the ones that are making a huge profit and not hiring. Ask anyone that actually works why their company is not hiring. I have friends that are doing 3 jobs because their company is too greedy to hire anyone. Companies know people are afraid of losing their job and will not complain. I have a family member that worked for a company for 36 years. His company cut the employees by 50% and he did 4 jobs for 4 years, only to be layed off. Thank goodness he was eligible for a pension. No matter who is President they can not control how many people are hired. You need to face the fact that some jobs are gone forever because our economy was based on greed and fraud. Grow up and stop complaining because we are all in htis together.

"Romney has nothing to run on,"

    Indeed...

    "his record as governor sucked"

So he destroyed it so we'd have no proof.

"his living off bailouts in the olympics is not a success story"

He destroyed those records as well.

"and his government bailouts at Bain while shipping jobs overseas was anti American."

I dunno..that sounds very much like what it means to be "American" nowadays. At least, it's more American than Mittens' bank accounts. The point is that we need to change that definition and, well, having reached yet another history milestone where real change...a real paradigm shift...needs to take place, it's yet again kicked the conservative WASP nest and freaked out the GOP/Teatroll hivemind.

Mittens needs to put up of shut up. He can debunk Harry Reid's assertions by merely making his taxes available. How hard can that be, he has several dozen accountants.

I grew up among 'Romney types', in a family in the upper 1%, with state political bosses in the family tree....and I can tell for certain that the one thing these people LOVE to brag about is how little (if any) taxes they PAY!! The personal arrogance of how they got treated more favorably than 'ordinary people' is simply astounding. I suspect that one of the recruiting slogans for Bain Capital was something like "Pay Taxes Like Mitt–NONE!."
Yes, this is statement is much like simple prejudice...but it is on social class not race or ethnicity, and the common behavior of a very small tightly knit group with every incentive to do this.

Any one who condemns Obamacare needs to get off the couch and turn off Fox foreign owned media. As of Wednesday, women get preventative care, that is added to the 3.6 million young people get to stay on their parents' plan, you don't get kicked off for getting sick, benefits are not capped, and 35 million will have insurance. I had my yearly checkup, and did not have to pay a co pay because, as it was explained to me, the ACA has started kicking in. A number of people will be getting rebates from their insurance companies because they did not put 80% into health remedies.
