Wife: Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. getting treatment but 'still very depressed'

(CNN) – The wife of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. detailed to a Chicago newspaper her husband's "collapse" and his last two months getting treated for gastrointestinal and mental health issues, saying he's still "very depressed" though showing some progress.

Sandi Jackson, an alderwoman in Chicago, talked with the Chicago Sun-Times shortly after returning from visiting her husband at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, with their two children.

    He needs to start working out. He doesn't need to get super pumped up but a good combination of strength, endurance and hand-eye coordiation, plus that Magen Rev course would do him a lot of good. Just in case.

    Jesse, You might want to wear those ear plugs, next time. If my father was Jesse Jackson Sr., I would be depressed too, but I still wish him a hasty recovery.
