(CNN) – Legendary outlaw Robin Hood has suddenly assumed a featured role in the 2012 presidential campaign.
Adding a new attack line on Monday to his stump speech, the president railed against rival Mitt Romney's tax proposals, saying they amount to "Robin Hood in reverse."

"It's Romney Hood," the president added to loud applause from 500 supporters in a Stamford, Connecticut ballroom.
Obama's campaign isn't yet indicating whether the "Romney Hood" line will remain part of the president's stump speech.
The comments were in reference to a recent report from the non-partisan Tax Policy Institute that claims Romney's tax proposals are likely to result in a net tax increase of $2,000 for middle-class wage earners while cutting hundreds of thousands of dollars from the tax bills of the country's most wealthy.
"He'd ask the middle class to pay more in taxes so he could give another $250,000 to those making more than $3 million a year," Obama also said at the event. The Romney campaign has disputed the study, arguing that the analysis was flawed because it did not account for additional revenue that would result from a reduction in the corporate tax rate - another part of the candidate's plan.
The event was the first of two fund-raisers for the president in Connecticut Monday. Obama is expected to raise more than $2 million from both events combined.
Romney spokesman Ryan Williams responded to the president's remarks in a statement, calling the attacks false.
"President Obama recently said the biggest regret of his first term was not telling better stories. He's trying to make up for it now, but his stories just aren't true," Williams wrote. "There's only one candidate in this race who's going to raise taxes on the American people – and that's Barack Obama. While he's used taxpayer dollars to grow government and reward his donors, middle-class Americans have seen fewer jobs, lower incomes, and less hope for the future. Mitt Romney has a plan for a stronger middle class – and, unlike President Obama, a record of accomplishment behind it."

Republicans are absolutely ight. Class warfare MUST end, epecially when it is "take from the middl class and poor and give to the rich". Romneynomics won't work. Its the same as Bush-o-nomics and we all (well maybe not the GOP) know where that got us.
Ahhh, of course....a reduction in the corporate rate as well. That will solve everything. Now it makes much more sense.
Indeed, Romney and the Republicans are "robin hood in reverse." Perhaps, Mitt deserves the nickname Robmey. He certainly is not connecting with ordinary workers who have made his profits possible. The American worker has been screwed over by the Robmeys and their ilk for 30 years now, since these Corporate Vultures decided all our manufacturing jobs could abandon their communities in America and exploit slave labor offshore. All so Mitt and the one-percenters could make out like bandits. When did greed become a virtue?
I don't know Romney Hood and Robin Hood, but I do know this...
Those making $3,000,000 a year already pay a lower tax rate than I do. At least that's true of Mitt Romney and John Kerry (this is not a partisan issue). And my annual salary? They make that in about a week.
That's just flat out wrong.
Mitt Romney sees the world from their point of view. He thinks those $3,000,000 million a year folks are here to save us all. And if it ever comes down to a choice between helping me and helping a millionaire, Mitt Romney will help the millionaire.
For someone that is trying to remove work requirements from wellfare, I find his words hypocritical – To the max. Obama quit trying to pick the winners and loosers and let a free society practice it's freedom without you handing out our cash to everyone you can buy a vote from.
Romney was 46th in the nation in job creation as governor of Massachusetts. That is his record.
President Reagan lowered taxes and the economy thrived! Clinton raised taxes and barely balanced the budget. Bush went to war and spent to much. Obama gives it to GM, calls it stimulus/bailout and the taxpayer is left with the bill.

But it might have included the LOSS of revenue which occurs when you cut taxs.
Wow! Señor Judas-in-Chief, I opine differently. I really think its "Obama Hood". You are extorting from everyone (low-income class, middle class and higher income individuals) and giving the "it" to people who have no intention of getting or helping themselves get off the dole. Simply, all in exchange for prospective votes.

This president has been lying right to the faces of the American populace since before HE was sworn into office. And then when things go well with none of it HIS doing, HE attempts to take credit. Example: (One of numerous; besides the economy, jobs, etc., etc., etc.): HE gutted the space exploration program and now he wants to take credit for their recent success, something that he essentially had nothing to do with. Essentially, he was an obstacle to space exploration rather than helping to advance the program.
It's beyond me how this Judas still manages to continue to fool a considerable number of Americans.

hmmm... If Mitt has such a great plan for america, why doesn't he share it with us. He won't even share his own tax plan with us, let alone the one he has for the nation. At least Obama has proven where his priorities are. Mitt wants us to be happy with the wait and see approach. The only actual number I've heard from Mitt is 12 million jobs in four years. No explanation, just a number. Mitt's avoidance of details is disturbing. No substance to the man at all... reminds me of G.W. (and we all saw how well that went)
Why is it that I dont see all the right wingers on here defending romney? Oh thats right someone used facts. Truth hurts too bad most of the people supporting dont want to hear the truth thats ok elect him then see what happens to your taxes, unless your worth millions upon millions your taxes will go way up
What has Romney really accomplished? Making himself and his partners more wealthy....good for him. Has he built schools,made better teachers,installed programs to retrain laid off workers.....has he even organized a community??? He worked on the Olympics? Yes using federal monies which would never have been appropriated if he were president at the time. Remember he likes to fire people and wants to eliminate the dept.of education. Obama has in fact pinned an appropriate logo on Robbing Romney. Taking from the not having much and the just scraping by and giving to the have a lots.
