Perry back to Iowa Fair, now stumping for Romney

(CNN) – A year ago in Des Moines, Iowa, Texas governor Rick Perry worked the Midwest crowd, glad-handing his way to voter approval for his own 2012 presidential bid. Saturday, Perry will do the same but for his former opponent Mitt Romney.

Texans for Rick Perry announced Friday that the former Republican contender would campaign for the current presumptive GOP nominee at the annual Iowa State Fair.

Perry will also speak at the FAMiLY Leadership Summit on Saturday afternoon hosted by two Iowa caucus winners in 2008 and 2012: former Governor Mike Huckabee and former Sen. Rick Santorum, according to the organization's website.

Last August, Perry visited the fair with much fanfare as a part of his "Get America Working Again" bus tour as a Republican primary presidential candidate. Perry faced mediocre numbers in the polls before the state's early January first-in-the-nation caucus, bringing in only 10% of Iowa votes on the Republican primary election night.

Perry dropped out of the presidential race in January, endorsing then-candidate and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Perry then threw his support behind Romney in April following reports that his chosen candidate would soon end his presidential run as well.

Romney whispers into Perry ear and says, "thanks for bending over backwards for me" And Perry, reluctantly answers, yeah, it is my pleasure, but if it don't fit, don't force it.

texas is low on the list for health insurance and education . Perry would do better if he drank less and stayed in texas and tried to fix his own state. All these red states have scored poorly on education and health care. They want to keep the middleclass down so they can run the show. Mitt will not release his tax returns and keeps his money off shore, That should tell you somthing. Is it true that his wifes horse was written off as a medical expense?? Let us know mittens. THe more people get to know him the lower his poll numbers will go. Vote all repos out Forward 2012

LOL. A picture's worth a thousand words! That's the "get-off-of-me-you-crazy-loser-piece-of-crap" look on Perry's face. Hey, he warned you GOPrs about Romney Hood, but you didn't listen...

Rick Perry endorsing Romney? One liar endorsing another – how great for Republicans. The only Republicans endorsing Romney are the extremists who just ripped him to shreds in the Republican primary. So how much are these endorsements costing you Romney? ....and I mean in turning off sane voters....birthers, Muslim conspiracy theorists, women rights haters, voter suppression supporters, immigrant discriminators, bigots and corrupt corporate donors who expect you to deliver no regulations, no taxes, and no rules for them. Your own Party doesn't trust you or like you or ever wanted you in the first place.

That photo speaks volumes. Perry hates Romney's guts,.. notice he's gritting his teeth, and can't even stand to look at Romney.

Romney needs to be careful who he puts out as surrogates. Trump, Gingritch, Perry? Really? These guys lost (badly) in the primaries for a reason. Die hard right wingers love them, independents and other thoughtful people recognize them for the hacks they are. I don't think having these folks out singing Romney's praises do him any good. But, I fully support this strategy!

    Obama 2012!

Once again the Texas taxpayers are stuck with paying the bill for his security as Perry travels around the country. It is money well spent to keep him out of the state of Texas in my opinion.
