(CNN) - The chairman of the Republican National Committee on Friday predicted the tables would soon turn in the presidential election, saying Americans can expect to see a lot more of Mitt Romney due to fund-raising hauls by the GOP.
"We now are in a position to oustpend (President Barack Obama's re-election effort) on television and tell our story and tell the Mitt Romney story, starting with our convention and going through the fall," Reince Priebus said on CNN's "Starting Point."

Recent polls have shown Romney's popularity is slipping, including a new CNN/ORC International survey released Thursday that indicates 48% of Americans have an unfavorable view of the presumptive GOP nominee, up from 42% in June.
Defending Romney, Priebus blamed the numbers on negative ads by the Obama campaign, saying the former Massachusetts governor has been the subject of attacks by the other side for a year.
"What you're seeing is the effect of tens of millions of dollars that are on TV," he said.
As of June 30, Obama's campaign had spent $153.6 million this cycle, compared to Romney's team at $106.5 million, according to Federal Election Commission reports.
But Romney's campaign, along with the Republican National Committee, raised $101.3 million in July, marking the third month in a row in which the Obama campaign and Democratic National Committee together were outraised by Republicans.
Once Romney becomes the official nominee at the GOP convention in late August, he'll be able to tap into more funds to spend in the final months of the race for the White House.
"I think you're going to see us being able to outspend our opponent at the end, whereas Barack Obama outspent us tremendously over the past year," Priebus said.
In fund-raising emails, the Obama campaign repeatedly says Obama will be the first incumbent president to be outspent by the opponent.

Its not about the MONEY. Its about principle and value. Money will never buy that. OBAMA 2012.
..and your spending will do what Princie??? Here's your answer.....NOTHING. The more people see Flip for what he is, the more they dislike him. His numbers should be going up, not down. And going on tv and radio with blatent lies and distortions about Obama while providing no details of your moldy old GOP plans will not help
The problem with Romney spending more money now is that Obama has been president for over 3 years and people know him and no one believes he's some evil socialist that's trying to destroy America. People are not going to buy it.
However, since Romney was an unknown because he won't release his taxes, won't tell us his plans for the country, won't talk about his religion, doesn't want to talk about Bain, the Democrats were able to define him before he defined himself. No one is buying what Romney is selling.
We all know that Romney and most of his supporters are RICH and Multimillionaires, Romney will outspend Obama but Obama will win the election because he focuses on middle class.
So the RNC is going to buy the election for Mitt? We may want to look at what happened to many of the companies Mitt bought; over leveraged, then bankrupt. No big deal, Mitt made money.
►Priebus: Romney will outspend Obama in coming months◄
It does not matter – because if those ads are based on very obvious LIES, Romney's unfavorables will continue to TUMBLE like they already are. All President Obama needs to do is rebut Romney's ads with the truth!!
Obama 2012 – The Only Trusted Way Forward!!
It doesn't matter how much they spend, he won't win. Trust has now become the main issue and Romney is not someone the majority of folks think they can trust.
Translation: Mitt is going to do his best to BUY the presidency.
Are they sure they want us to get to know Mitt, seems the more we know him the less we like him.
First thing the GOP should do is spend some money to get a new Republican Committee Chairperson. Sorry Reince, you just look to much like Pee Wee Herman.
That's great Reinhold Rinse Prius. Not sure why he doesn't use his real first name, much like Willard. But back to the topic. Until Willard releases his taxes, all the ads amount to nothing more than blah blah blah. We're not listening. An even bigger fatal flaw is Willard himself. No amount of money can overcome his lack of personality, his lack of core, his lack of being a leader. Money can't buy him love.
Keep flushing that money down the toilet. Amazing that they cry about paying taxes at the Clinton era rates to help the country's debt problem that they created, but have no problem wasting money on a guy who is already toast. Strange priorities.
Show us your taxes Willard. Corporations are people too - you said so, no hiding behind saying you're not a corporation now...
I'm guessing that in Romney's and Priebus' minds, the Presidency is just something you buy.
Out spending is GOPs strategy to win election? How GOP is a viable party in the 21 century/in America is mind boggling.
Money wont matter, Mitt has already lost.
Not surprising when Romney's masters are named Koch or Adelson.
Yes, it is becoming quite obvious to me that since the Supreme Court ruling concerning donations, the Republican Party has put a plan in effect to BUY the Presidency.
Republicans need run only one ad. It should simply say: "DO AS WE SAY, NOT AS WE DO".
It's one thing to outspend your opponent in ads, it's a totally other thing to tell blatant lies in those ads.
The problem is that you cannot remake a man without a soul into a man with a soul, regardless of the money you spend. But wait, this is America, the land of the shallow people that really don't think and that have this notion that they are the cat's meow. Not dumb; just lacking intellectual curiosity.
Of course he will outspend Obama. Mitt has been bought and paid for by Wall Street and the Kock Brothers who will do anything to help him win so that he can pay them back. Payback to them is 1) get rid of ANY regulations that keep me from doing exactly what I want to do; 2) don't ask questions; just do as I tell you to do.
what, with all mitts off shore bank accounts. show us your tax records you snake in the grass! Obama2012
This guy said today morning he didn’t want to talk about Romney tax returns yeah he don’t want to give answer to 63% registered voters.
That mean we don’t have answers but we have lot of money
Spend all the money it still will not get you in the White house.
"What you're seeing is the effect of tens of millions of dollars that are on TV," he said.
Does anyone else have an issue with this kind of money being spent just to bash the other guy???
STOP letting the Obama campaign engage in "Operation Change The Subject"!!!
Just focus on the economy!!!!!!!!!!
