I see Willard didn't waste time getting his fall guy on the attack against the president. Ryan may have made it this far by fooling some into thinking he's charming and intelligent, but we are not looking for paper geeks and "rising stars" . Neither of these two give me any comfort or indication they know how to deal with foreign relations or keep me safe. Ryan is going to find out he is no match for the team of Obama/Biden and by the time this election is over, he'll regret the day he ever decided to stand beside a Mormon coward.

Ryan is not that popular so Wisconsin is not a given. Paul Ryan also took advantage of the very programs he's determined to end and make no mistake, Ryan is ambitious and doesn't care about the middle class. His sights are set much higher.

Ryan wants to raises taxes on the middle class, cut them for millionaires.

Ryan’s budget would result in 4.1 million lost jobs in 2 years.

Ryan has ownership stakes in companies that benefit from oil supports $40 billion in subsides for big oil.

Ryan accused generals of lying about their support for Obama’s military budget.

Ryan wants to eliminate Pell Grants for more more than 1 million students.

Ryan embraces the extreme philosophy of Ayn Rand

Ryan co-sponsored a “personhood” amendment, an extreme anti-abortion measure

    Thanks for energizing Democrats, Mittens.

Romney just announced that he would not be running on the Ryan budget, which makes some sense considering that Mittens is now attacking President Obama over Medicare cuts that are in the RYAN BUDGET?!?

    This is getting surreal.....

It is impossible for anyone to explain how Ryan's (now Romney's) plan for slashing Medicare and Social Security in order to pay for tax cuts that by far favor the rich is not a planned transfer of wealth from the working class family to the wealthiest in the nation. Even Prof. Laffer, the inventor of trickle-down says more tax cuts for the rich will not create jobs

I see Mittens made the worst possible mistake any candidate running for President can make by picking the worst possible V.P. candidate any candidate running for President can pick. Granted, there wasn't too big of a choice to choose from, but let's face it, GOPers ... Paul Ryan? Like in REALLY(!?!) - he picked PAUL Ryan(!?!)

    (Shaking my head.)

No doubt others will be more than happy to explain why Ryan is the worst possible choice. I'll just sit back and laugh with them.

Just let me add that once again the V.P. candidate who should have been chosen wasn't. Not a fan of Tim Pawlenty, but he's the one that could have helped McCain and Romney beat Barrack Obama. Instead we've gotten Palin and Ryan.

Romney, Ryan elect these two so the very rich will never have to worry where their next meal is coming from.

Don't worry Mitt and Paul now have the bottomless support of the Koch brothers, they alone have enough money to buy the election.

The Ryan choice may have energized both sides, but as an Independent all Romney's choice did was give my vote as-well-as most other Independents votes to Obama. Mitt Romney has been saying all the things far right conservatives want to hear, so he already has their votes. If he had picked a more moderate republican many of us independents would have voted for him come election day but now, not so much. The democrats should be more excited about this pick than the republicans. ALL Mitt Romney's choice did was alienate moderate and independate voters. Bye, bye Mitt Romney! ! !

Very odd – commentators from both conservative and liberal sides of the fence have always brought up Ryan's name, but typically as an example of the WORST possible choice Romney could make. Ryan is well-known for being excellent at grandstanding, but terrible when it comes to debating his views. He is also more to the right of Romney at a time Romney needed to pick up the more centralist Independent votes and not the die-hards in the GOP (Tea Partiers talk of being independent, but most swing to the GOP if left with no other choices, so going with Ryan didn't gain Romney any votes in the end). Ryan has namely unpopular ideas that have been proven time and again will not work. He also is still a "rising star" in GOP-land with lots to learn. This loss coming in November will effective kill off his career, as well as that of Romney, leaving Republicans feeling a gut-punch.

Romeny would have been better off with Portman – a guy with a solid record who is known for being good in the debates. Say what you will about Biden, but he wiped the floor with Palin four years ago at a time Palin was pretty much a god to Republicans. Ryan – a man GOP still hasn't quite gotten use to – is going to get eaten alive.

Paul Ryan is a good choice. You people at CNN have been brown nosing Obama and the elites that you can't see an honest person in front of you. You have been running the liberal line, just to stay in the loop. For a newsroom that are to go after the facts and report it, is beyond the pale. Tell me one good reason why the American people should be watching or reading your junk. It's not real. One of you are even letting Obama the naked king to write the articles. He is working against this country and you keep supporting him. He is working to Depopulate this country along with the UN Agenda 21. People are waking up and will delete your programs for all. We want the FACTS not the FAKE. WE will not be brainwashed any longer. Good Luck.

You're right! ! ! Paul Ryan is a good choice. If you are a far right conservative. However, In todays United States most registered voters consider ourselves middle of the road (Independent). For us Paul Ryan who is just about as far from middle of the road as you can get is a HORRIBLE ! ! ! I repeat HORRIBLE choice.

A good choice? His own church comes out to denounce his budget plan. A bus load of nuns show to to oppose his budget plan. He has to have police at an open house escort him out a side door to a second car because the "old" people there are getting a little left wing for him, and haveing the nerve to call him out on it? A good choice? BAHAHAHA! Bring on the debates. This is going to be worth watching. Mitt trying to debate Obama? Let the laugh fest beging. Two to one, by the end of the first debate Mitt will be supporting "single payer."

I am phone banking for the Obama campaign. Ryan is not for womens' rights nor their health. Our Seniors can't bare the grunt of Ryan's budget plan nor the middle-class, and the poor. Our children won't see a future if Romney/Ryan our voted into power. America can see right through you Romney/Ryan. This is a campaign for the 1% wealthy.
Americans cast your vote for Obama. Romney/Ryan is not the ticket and their all about filling their pockets. Where's are those tax returns Romney?

We the People will not vote for anyone who bet against America and cheat the American people and government out of loads of tax dollars by taking advantage of loopholes. It maybe crazy legal to fleece this country but I will be damed if you think after all your underhanded self serving misdeeds, We The People are going to just let you slither your way in here buy this election. Not a chance! Obama all the way!

Dear Gov. Romney: "Competence" is not the only criteria Americans use to determine their next president. "Conviction" matters as well. You finally have learned this and you chose Paul Ryan to prove it. However, "compassion" matters too, and, often most to those who disagree with you; that is something you refuse to learn. Whether that is because you have not needed to or you have been unable to in the circles you have traveled in this life, does not matter and it cannot be replaced by "more" of some other quality you may have in abundance. Shrewd man that you are, you know this; unfortunately for you and for those who wish they could rally to you, many, many others know this as well. So, when you refuse to address what you know is weakness, when you choose to ignore what you know is a failure to connect with the many you seek to lead, when you disrespect those you don't know simply because they are unfamiliar– that is when you fail as a leader and why you are not "competent" to be president.

I thought Mitt Romney liked the Olympics? Why not wait and make this announcement on the weekend following the closing ceremonies? It's not as if most Americans are fixated on who Romney picks as V.P. enough that the Ryan roll-out couldn't wait a few more days.

Apparently Romney himself wasn't all that excited either ... for the Olympics or his V.P. pick. At least not excited enough not to try and interrupt Olympic coverage, if indeed this announcement DID interrupt Olympic coverage - which I doubt - enough to cause Americans to scramble to their favorite political pundits for awe inspiring briefings on this Mitt Romney decision/fiasco.

As it is, it became nothing but a wasted opportunity.
