Ryan's college years: A Delt who liked turtlenecks

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - Paul Ryan's four years at Miami University, a bucolic campus nestled in the small town of Oxford, Ohio, helped to shape the Wisconsin congressman's political and ideological views.

An economics professor named Richard Hart guided Ryan through the classics of conservative economic theory, and Ryan soon came to revere thinkers such as Ludwig von Mises, Ayn Rand, Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman.

I looked at that picture and was immediately reminded of the country club scenes in the movie "Trading Places."

WOW... we know more about Ryan's college days than we do about Obama's. If Ryan agrees to release his college records will Obama do the same??? What is Obama hiding about his college days? Was he granted admission as a foreigh exchange student? Was he a fraud?

You birthers are hilarious. No one cares about Ryan's college days. People actually care about Romney's tax returns (polled at 60% balanced), Obama has already released his certificate of live birth, his short and long form birth certificate and 12 years of tax returns.

But Oh HO HO we need college transcripts too! Romney doesn't need to release anything though!

Ryan touts himself as a fiscal conservitive, is this something he just thought up to drum up votes from the teaparty because, his record of voting on fiscal matters when George W. Bush was in office show exactly the opposite???

Since you are calling for Pres. Obama's college transcripts, does that mean that you have finally accepted the long form birth certificate as genuine?

I was taught that ayn rand was observant not very bright & wrong in promoting failure– if it was not for wall street rand would have had nothing to say & nothing to add to society certianly not her country that book was read @ age 14/15 and by that age was low-brow–ryan had adults reading the book as adults instead of working on behalf of their constituants

Truth Hurts- No you don't. You still yammer for the President's education records- illegal under FERPA. Perhaps you should demand the same from Ryan for a change.

On a different note- when did the marginal, fringe novelist Ayn Rand get to be elevated to a member of the "classics of conservative economic theory" status? The only people who read her novels in the '60s were John Birch Society members.

The problem with Mr. Ryan and his reputation is that as a member of Congress, he only got two of his own bills passed (the ultra-radical Medicare and Social Security stuff his own party wouldn't support), and as a so-called "fiscal conservative" he voted party line with Bush. Maybe its his anti-abortion, anti-birth contol stances Mr. Romney really admires.

I would not push Austrianist theory as 'conservative economic theory' mainly because the drivel being espoused on tv pushes for supply side economic thinking and trickle down theory, neither of which were espoused by VonMises or Hayek. What they did do is state that the system was more capable of taking care of itself than we were, and that systemic interruptions through government or social intrusion led to a sort of boom-bust recurring pattern as scarce resources forcibly were reallocated. There lines of thinking provided some very good critiques of blind keynesian policy and the assumptions it was based off of, but those theories are NOT what is being pushed by candidates today

Let us not forget about Ryan's support for privatization of Social Security. Even bigger though, have been Rep. Ryan's repeated attempts to bring a "personhood" bills to the House floor for a vote.

When will the Obama regime release information on his college years, particularly the time spent at Columbia where it is rumored that he was registered as a foreign exchange student, something the liberally biased main stream media has ignored. He has not released any records from those years. Why not?

Let's get paranoid. Gather around the campfire children, recite Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" as biblical fact, and praise Koch, Murdoch, and Adelson as true moral compasses of the John Birch Society.

If the GOP was going for the eye-candy factor, they should have chosen the guy on the lower left side. He looks like a winner to me.

There are no college records for Obama, because he was planted here by time traveling space aliens.
His days at Harvard are holograms created by The Aliens from the Outer Limits traveling to the twilight zones seeking to buy a copy of Ayn Rand's new book "Karl Marx Misunderstood"

Did you miss this weekend's GOPer Conference Call, Rudy? We are no longer allowed to say "privatization of Social Security". Such wording scares us.
