(CNN) - Though he had publicly suggested Mitt Romney pick Sen. Marco Rubio to join the GOP ticket, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday in an interview on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" that he is "very happy with the choice of Paul Ryan" – although the pick was a "gamble."
"I think that Governor Romney has made a gamble here. He's taken a risk," Giuliani said.
Earlier in the day, Giuliani slammed Vice President Joe Biden for being "not very smart" in response to controversial comments the vice president made at a campaign stop Tuesday.

the gamble is moving so far right that he left the moderate republicans unwanted in their own party and out in the cold watching the right wing hijacking of the GOP. these are now a big block of voters in play for the democrat to go after because the tea party has made them homeless in politics!
Yep it was a gamble. Ryan is part of the do nothing congress. And we all know how much Americans dislike congress.
Just wait until American figure out exactly who ryan is.
Now we've heard from the narcisistic king of New York Republicans....turns out he's a NYINO (New Yorker in Name Only).
Life is a gamble. Nothing ventured, Nothing gained. Ryan is the best in my book. He has the go nads to address our problems head on. That is a rare, mostly non exsistant qualification in the white house and congress. This is a true American who stands for WE The People and Common Sense. Ryan is a leader, not a sit back howler of other plans and show us what is wrong with congress today, NO LEADERSHIP, ONLY BICKERING. NO COMMON SENSE!!!
The choice is a gamble and likely a fatal flaw. It doesn't seem that Romney fully understood the bagage that Ryan brings.
Picking Ryan was like trying to draw two cards to an inside straight. He is hell bent on destroying social security and medicare by giving $700 billion of that money for tax breaks for the wealthy. That does not include the immediate $500 billion Ryan cuts from medicaid. But, Paul is rich, white, and has voted for every Bush idea that increased the national debt, so that makes him a conservative.
