Both sides using Rove's campaign strategy this year

Washington (CNN) – In 2004, Sen. John Kerry entered the campaign against incumbent President George W. Bush with a seemingly unassailable advantage on a sensitive issue - the liberal Kerry served in the Vietnam War, and the conservative Bush didn't.

Rather than avoid the topic, Bush supporters came up with the notorious "Swift Boat" campaign that raised enough questions about Kerry's war record to negate a major strength.

It’s laughable to hear Republicans complaining about negative campaign tactics. They invented hate speech, lies and negative propaganda campaigning. If not for these tactics, there wouldn’t be a GOP. The difference is Democrats have finally realized that ‘rising above and turning the other cheek’ doesn’t win you elections. In other words, Intellectual nice guys do not win over soulless hollow aggression and bigotry proclaimed as 'values'.
This is why President Clinton was so successful. Republicans attacked him, because he knew how to easily beat them.

What I find amazingly ironic is that Republicans have launched this major campaign against Pres. Obama for supposedly cutting spending, in this case $716 from Medicare.
    -----------------

Obama took $716 of our money, we pay for Medicare from our paychecks for our own Medicare, so that he could pay for Obamacare. We are paying for Obamacare from our money. Look at your checkstub and it will show the amount you pay for your Medicare.
