State unemployment rates rise in 44 states

New York (CNNMoney) - The state unemployment picture worsened last month, with jobless rates creeping higher in 44 states, according to a government report released Friday.

Only two states and the District of Columbia saw unemployment rates edge lower in July, while four states saw no change in rates, according to the Labor Department's monthly report on state unemployment.

Thanks, Obama. Forward...with higher unemployment. The experiment of puting this clown in the White House has had disasterous results.

Wow,obama's stimulus isn't working too well, is it? But I suppose that the obama camp doesn't want the American people to focus on the unemployment numbers too much. No, obama would rather distract and divert attention to petty things like tax returns. Hang on a little longer, America. Help is on the way.

Thank you Party of No for wasting American tax dollars on repealing the ACA law 31 times, even though it is deemed legal.
Jobs bills, waiting for years, still not approved and signed.
Waving your middle finger at Americans is not a nice thing to do.

Blaming the GOP again. When will the Dems take responsibility for this presidents failed policies, lack of leadership and his inability to put forth a plan for growth?

Despite all the hulabaloo from the Grand Obstructionist Party Teatrolls over Scott Walkers recall success, looks like the Wisconsin Teapug voters shouldn't be so smug or as smart as they think they are.
How you going to blame the SIGNIFICANT increase in Wisconsin unemployment ... suppose that's Obama's fault too.. !!

@Wire Pallaidn- The house can't do anything right now. Anything the house puts up will be turned into swiss cheese by the senate. Also, they dont want to vote for wastefull spending. The house is not obstructionist any more then the senate.

When we have a job, GOP threatens to take it away by making it easy for corporations to outsource it overseas.

When we become unemployed, GOP threatens our livelihood by seeking to take away our unemployment benefits.

When our banks and Wall Street firms play wild games with money and threaten global financial health, GOP says it is a good thing that the free capitalist markets are at work even though millions lose their jobs.

When our kids get into the best private colleges after working their buts off, GOP threatens to make it impossible for them to actually enroll and finish colleges by taking away loans and financial assistance.

When our kids manage to finish and get their degrees with huge debts to repay, the jobs they apply for disappear and go overseas, thanks to people like Romney and his Bain Capital.

When GOP gets their way with medicare and medicaid, our parents will no longer support themselves financially in their older age...

And while we go and file for bankruptcy, our super rich counterparts are becoming super super rich, sipping champaign at one of their many super luxurious vacation homes, laughing and congratulating themselves on their fortunes. Thanks Romney/Ryan.

  17. Dems Need to Grow a Pair

Get the government out of stimulating the economy..make it easier for the private sector to do/start business. Taxes come from private sector revenues not from gov't. If we promote the ps , the tax revenue will follow.Oh , by the way, government intervention into health care to this degree (Obama Care) sets this country and our quality health care system up for a huge travesty....almost to the point of insolvency.

Woohoo Teatrolls... the usual parroted responses that you are getting from that Faux Noise propaganda machine. Of course the unemployment rise in WI is Obama's fault.
Couldn't possibly have anything to do with the FAILED policies of Repug Gov. Scott Walker and his Grand Obstructionist Party controlled legislature that the Teapugs re-elected, right?

FWIW – the same thing is happening down in Gov "I created a million jobs" Goodhair's TX ! Luckily the large majority of intelligent Americans (not the Teatrolls posting here) see thru the smoke and charades and will move the country FORWARD in Nov and vote OBAMA/BIDEN 2012 !!!

Obama has a jobs plan. Too bad the House of Representatives won't vote for it. But I guess when they say their job is to make Obama a one-term president....instead of actually WORKING TO FIX THE ECONOMY....well, we shouldn't be surprised.

If GOP takes over Washington and the White House, they will do what Romney's company Bain Capital does best as follows:

    (1) increase employment in China and India while closing down factories and financial operations in the US; and,

    (2) increase by many folds the wealth of the super rich, CEO's, board of directors of corporations with stock options, and the Washington lobbyists working for the super rich et al.

What does this completely infantile, fourth-grade, completely will accusations have to do with unemployemnt increases in the states ? Obama accusing Mitt the Twit of murder? Wow.. you Teapugs will stop at nothing to expound your ignorance.
PLEASE try to focus long enough to put an intelligent thought together – and DISCUSS the FACTS!!!

It looks like the GOP hard work of obstructing and saying "No!" is finally kicking in.

The only one saying no right now is Harry Reid and the D-Senate. Reminder, Harry has over two dozen House passed bills on his desk right now...
