Romney calls on Akin to exit race

(CNN) - Mitt Romney, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, joined a host of fellow Republicans in calling on Rep. Todd Akin to withdraw from his Missouri Senate race Tuesday. His campaign released the following statement:

"As I said yesterday, Todd Akin's comments were offensive and wrong and he should very seriously consider what course would be in the best interest of our country. Today, his fellow Missourians urged him to step aside, and I think he should accept their counsel and exit the Senate race."

It didn't take long for the GOP to throw one of their own under the subway.

I am sure if it is not for presidential contest, the GOP will not run away from Akin.

Akin cannot be forgiven. He cannot be forgiven by rational people for his neanderthal mentality (I use the word "mantality" in the loosest possible sense) and his rejection of knowledge, science and facts. He cannot be forgiven by the irrational right for honestly letting the rational among us know what he thinks (again, I use the word "think" in the loosest possible sense, as there is no actual thought involved in his beliefs).

To be a Democrat may be to be a fool but to be a Republican is to be a traitor to this great country (or formerly great if the GOP regains full control).

Aiken AND Paul pushed a bill to redefine the word rape
Aiken says there are legitimate and illegitimate forms of rape
The GOP has a portion of their platform prohibiting abortion even if its the result of Rape or incest
And Romney wants Akin to exit race but says nothing about that plank of the gop platform
what's that supposed to be? some kind of sick joke?
no self respecting woman should EVER vote Republican

...unless you want to stay in the race then I'm fine with that. But you should do what's best for the party. But if you stay in, I will support you. As long as it's what the party wants. What does your wife say? Are you going to show your taxes?

Dingbat. Huckabee asked you straight up if you would support life at conception. Robmey answered ABSOLUTLEY. There goes any rights for rape and incest victims.
typical bs the "I was for it before I was against it" or "I don't agree with Ryan 100% on his views"
Do you support pro life? "Yes I do" A few years ago, " Do you support pro life?" No, I believe in pro choice.
What are we supposed to believe? Do we honestly want this guy as President? He already made England and Palestine mad, who else is he ready to offend?

Good, because if you think akin should resign and get out of the race then you need to get rid of the boy toy who has voted with akin in EVERYTHING ANTI WOMAN.
What happened yesterday flip flopper, your vp nominee is being treated like the AK bim bo after the Couric interview? Why don't you let him explain why he has voted against anything that would help women? I would like to hear that from him. In the meantime I WANT TO SEE YOUR TAXES and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU WERE REALLY DOING BETWEEN 1999 AND 2002!!!

Who say women's rights is not a serious topic in this election? Again, many men out there still want to push women to the side and dictate what women should and should not do. Where are the women in Congress? Where is their voice on the hill? Are they enraged by the stupid Republican men yet? Want more? Or more skinny dipping republicans in the next two months? Enough is enough.

Some leader. He waited 24 hours to tell one of his party members to exit only AFTER he saw it was in HIS best interest. God help us if this liar should ever try to represent us during a crisis.

What a difference–a GOP candidate with no connection to Romney says something way out of line and the GOP nominee calls for them to be held accountable. Contrasted with the actual President dodging any criticism of surrogates who constantly slander his opponent and refusing to call them out.

And yet the message board is full of brainless posts criticizing Romney???

This is why the founding fathers were against pure democracy and set up a representative republican form of government. Too many morons with an opinion, regardless of the facts.
