Politics, parties keep some away from conventions

Washington (CNN) - When U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill announced in June that she would not attend the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, she joined a number of lawmakers from both sides of the aisle planning to skip the presidential nominating events.

Different reasons were given, but a closer look shows most are in tough races.

  1. 8.3% unemployment - Over 8% 42 Straight months and the Obama Jobs DEPRESSION continues unabated

Pelosi, the former House speaker and now the chamber's minority leader, urged Democratic members to stay home.

So why bother having a convention??? Sounds like Pelosi is desperate to get her speaker position back, which is NOT happening. All of these Democrats being seen with Obama, Reid and Pelosi would only remind the American people why they needed to be tossed out of office.

    8.3% – Because the democrats don't need a convention. They've already won!

McCaskill needs to understand who voted her into office. She needs to show her face at the convention and quit voting along that "Blue Dog" line she's been voting. I hope she now sees how far the Republicans will go to get her seat and wake up. If you are a Democrat be a Democrat and not one in name only.

  7. B.

All that these conventions have become are a Circus that deny serious debates on issues.

There should be more Presidential Debates with the involvement of a Intelligent serious commentator, not media, controlling it and taking real questions from the viewers in attendance.

Most debates now are nothing more than a side show that imitates a high school Pep-rally with idiots cheering and booing..
When are we ever going to take this process serious again?

LOL! What have they won? You don't really think obama is going to win with Real unemployment over 12%, do you? Sure, they'll be deadbeats who'll vote for him, because they think he's giving them free this, that, and another thing, but people who get up in the morning, and go to work won't vote for him. They won't vote for him, because they know that socialism and redistributing wealth never works, and they're the ones getting screwed the hardest by obama's policies.
