Texas Democrats: Judge who said Obama could trigger civil war should resign

(CNN) - Texas Democrats are calling for the resignation of a Republican elected county judge who warned this week that the nation could descend into civil war if President Barack Obama is re-elected.

"It's really up to Judge (Tom) Head to do the right thing and resign and stop embarrassing Lubbock County," said Kenny Ketner, who became the county Democratic Party's chief Monday.

I'd be more worried about the realistic possibility of a riot resulting from thousands of minorities voters in targetted areas like Philadelphia getting told they can't vote because they don't have the newly required ID and only have something that doesn't count, like a driver's license.

But yes, this nutjob needs to go. He was asking for a tax increase and wanted to blame it on Obama, so he invented this "tax increase is needed to prepare for the civil war Obama is causing" excuse. What's really going on? He probably wants to increase his paycheck.

It's gonna snow in Houston in July before that wacko resigns. He'll probably be re-elected on the basis of this nonsense. Folks, we're talking about Lubbock, here. This is hard-core Texas Redneck territory. (The Texas Redneck is distinct from the Deep South Redneck by it's lack of white robes and flaming crosses, but is no less bigoted and possibly even more stupid)

The civil war is in his HEAD and inside the Republican party. Using the term Civil War is just another Republican "Code Word" without saying they hate minorities, but thank God all Americans don't support their views and won't stand for this kind of craziness.

This statement clearly show that the Judge want to start a new war himself. Why not add an incendiary idea to the voting public. Don't Texans elect their judges? Anyone can run for the job. Before you get worked up about the statement please understand that rabble-rousers exist and will continue to make remarks like these. He does need to .

Perhaps the Judge would like Texas to Secede just as Governor Perry did. However it is now time for Governor Perry to step up to the plate and calm everyone down. He needs to bring the judge into his office and have a little talk.

Not in my book. That is entirely a possibility. Obama is trying to set himself up as a dictator in chief, and that could very well lead to civil strife.

Classic. No one there is taking him seriously so outsiders should not either. Lubbock is a pretty isolated place. Texas Tech University is in Lubbock and has always been home to some pretty colorful people/personalities: Spike Dike, Mike Leach, Bob Knight, etc. His views are probably gentle compared to what is unspoken about Obama from a gentler/kinder part of the world in West Texas.

These teapublikkklans are really out of control. How dare a sitting judge or anyone with what you consider half a brain (it IS Texas after all) say such a thing.
Throw him out and let's see what he wears under his robe. A dress maybe?

I believe the Tea Party should break away from the GOP and become their own major party. It's obvious that they are both on two distinct levels of crazy and each need their own voices.

Just what part of ".......take up arms, get rid of the dictator" isn't worthy of an FBI investigation. He is inciting a riot
and there are a lot of nuts that would take him up on it. I'm really sick of hearing these threats are "just nut cases".
    They are dangerous people.

there is NO suprise this judge is from Texas..heck we brought you everything from Rick Perry to Tom Delay with Shelia Jackson Lee in between. In other words we have some KOOKS down here. He is allowed his own opinion of course but I sure wouldn't want him to preside over any case for me.
