Paul to supporters: 2012 the start of a new era

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - As Rep. Ron Paul's third presidential bid is set to come to its formal end at the Republican National Convention, Paul sought to rally his loyal supporters with talk of a new era in American history.

"I'm convinced that we're living at the end of an era," Paul told the crowd at a rally in honor of him and his libertarian political movement. "The end of an era provides an opportunity," Paul added before laying out his view that an era in American government, foreign policy, and monetary policy that began in 1913 is coming to an end roughly a century later.

A look at Janna Ryan: 'She's going to bloom where she's planted'

Boston (CNN) – Janna Little Ryan comes from a political family and was already a successful Washington tax attorney and lobbyist by the time she was 30. So when she met her future husband, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, she was drawn more to his character than awed by his office.

According to her younger sister, Dana Little Jackson, the Ryans met when the then-29-year-old Wisconsin lawmaker, sick with the flu, was "dragged" by a mutual acquaintance to Janna's 30th birthday party. They soon had their first date over lunch.

CNN Poll: Which candidate is better on the issues?

A CNN/ORC International poll released Sunday also indicates there are a lot of issues where neither candidate has an appreciable edge, and many of them - including welfare, taxes, health care, and Medicare - have been fodder recently for both presidential campaigns.

Isaac could hinder GOP chance to define Romney at convention

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – A shortened Republican National Convention needs to overcome a threatening hurricane, as well as Democratic attacks and lingering internal rifts, to seize the best remaining chance to show America the real Mitt Romney before the November election, top Republicans said Sunday.

GOP officials already canceled Monday's planned first day of the convention due to Isaac, the tropical storm growing to hurricane strength in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida.
