(CNN) – The Republican National Committee released details Sunday of a series of policy workshops to be hosted by Newt Gingrich at the Republican convention in Tampa, Florida, this week.
In a statement about the schedule, the RNC said that "Newt U" will consist of workshops for delegates aimed at expanding on the daily themes of the convention.

The former Republican presidential contender told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in July that he would not have a prime-time speaking role at the Republican convention. Gingrich assured Blitzer, however, that he would have a highly visible position in Tampa hosting policy senimars. He stopped short of providing further details on the unique role.
"I'm working with them right now on a project that I think you'll love that has a lot more time than just an evening speech," Gingrich said on "The Situation Room."
As host of the "Newt U" workshop series, the former professor will address delegates at all of the convention's seminars, along with various other speakers, to provide an in-depth look at the chosen topic of the day.
In the release about the schedule, the RNC said Monday's workshop will focus on jobs and Medicare and will feature speakers like Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Lahnee Chen, the policy director for Mitt Romney’s campaign. Callista Gingrich, the former House speaker's wife, will speak at Tuesday's convention session focused on small businesses. Wednesday's workshop will focus on energy policy, while the final day of the convention's seminars will discuss "Obamacare."
Because of the predicted arrival of Tropical Storm Isaac, the RNC announced Saturday the convention will convene Monday but activities will be postponed until Tuesday. It is unclear if the announced schedule for "Newt U" will be subject to the same weather-related restrictions.
Earlier this week, Gingrich formally released his delegates and urged them to vote for Romney, the presumptive GOP nominee.

Newt will do whatever it takes to pay off his debt. Except keep his mouth closed... His views are easily purchased, but if he goes off script... Look out Mittens!!
Just don't ask the professor any questions or try to engage in discussion. Sit there, listen, and applause when done. Repeat over and over.
He's been banished to the basement and will be teaching conventioneers how to lie. CNN should definitely put a reporter in these 'seminars'.
I`ll bet this is a furtive way to slip Newt some $$ to retire his campaign debt. Is the Mittster is buying Newt`s silence / support? After all, Newt did call the man a LIAR.
Oh, and by the way Mitt, where are thos secretive tax returns and the details on those offshore Swiss bank accounts? What are you hiding, sir? [In my best Sam Donaldson voice.]
Check your morals (if you have any left) and any residual intelligence that you may have, at the door. Upon proof of ownership they may be returned to you when you leave. (excessive morals or intelligence will be confiscated)
Looks like Newt is showing us all how much integrity he has- the space between his thumb and forefinger! Anything for a buck and the opportunity to be on camera, right Newt? At least during the primary season you said some of what you believed... Now you'll be a lying Romney shill because he'll pay off your debt.
Newt U is cancelled for Monday for fear that his blowhard bloviating will add too much to the wind damage expected to be caused by Hurricane Isaac.
