(CNN) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said he expects delegate tension between the Ron Paul and Mitt Romney teams to lighten up this week at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, especially considering that Paul's son, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, was asked to speak at the convention.
"I think the Ron Paul people have said openly they are going to be supportive on the floor and do not expect problems," Gingrich said on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien." "Plus, Rand Paul has played a role and does get a speech. It's unlikely that Ron Paul will want to embarrass his son in that kind of a setting."

Rand Paul is an embarrasment to himself.
Ron Paul's ideology is based on a libertarian past and an anarchistic vision of the future. He offers unsophisticated solutions to complex problems. He promises isolationism at a time when we must engage in global economies and highly complex societies. He chooses "small government" at a time when only robust governments can compete.
The Koch brothers wanted to "buy" a candiate with no ideology and weak character – so the fat-cats could call the shots. They bought Romney and their money and Karl Rove's dishonesty is working to convince the undereducated and bigoted population to vote for him.
Gingrich go get another wife jeez.
Ron Paul, his delegates and supporters are the most patriotic, respectful people you could ever meet. It was these wonderful people who have been attacked at the caucuses and conventions, not just physically but by the RNC and Romney's camp.

Ugh, I just love the manipulative, passive-aggressive comments by Gingrich. "It's unlikely that Ron Paul will want to embarrass his son in that kind of a setting." How is it "embarrassing" his son if Ron Paul is able to utilize the vocal and loyal supporters he gathered through a year of hard work and campaigning, if it can change the Republican party's platform for the better?
We all know that Rand Paul is a sell out. What an embarrassment to humanity. Decades of his fathers hard work AND ALL OF OUR HARD WORK and this embarrassment of a son is going to try to hijack the liberty movement.
Case in point: Rand Paul votes in favor of Iran Sanctions.
Millions of our dollars have gone into this campaign for liberty along with blood, sweat and tears. We will NEVER LET THIS DOWN.

Gingrich only wishes the Ron Paul contingents will "be supportive". That's the farthest statement from the truth, and he knows it. Just putting on a face so the RNC doesn't look bad. They're all a bunch of corrupt cronies who are afraid of change and losing their jobs. They ALL need to go!

It's too late, Mr. Speaker. The fact that Rand Paul is speaking at all is an embarassment for the Republican Party.
Just to set the record straight, it was the Ron Paul delegates getting assaulted by the Romney and Santorum delegates during the state conventions not the other way around. Maybe one of these days we can get some truthful unbiased reporting so that the American public could be a little better informed.
