Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Monday was supposed to be Obama-bashing day to launch the Republican National Convention, and GOP organizers showed they weren't going to let something like a tropical storm totally derail their agenda.
While the full proceedings of the first day were canceled, effectively cutting the planned four-day convention to three, Republican officials kept up their efforts to frame President Barack Obama's term as a failure in terms of achievement, direction and substance.

Mitch McConnell has made it clear his only goal is to see Obama removed – not one mention of trying to create jobs, or improve the operation of government. These guys have you bent all over backwards. The worse part is they are going to hurt the job creators in the long run if they had their way. The have already hurt the job creators in the long run actually. It's time our government got back to work and funded – look sides need to work together to improve government efficiency and effectiveness, not tearing it down. Government is necessary, even in a capitalist system like ours.

After 2 minutes into the opening of the convention they were bashing him already and then they turn around and blame the President. It is the American people who will filter all this mess out and it will be who will better serve us and who do we trust.
Romney told Americans to look at his experience at Bain as proof of him being better on the economy. That turned out to be a bad idea. Now he wants Obama to apologize for using the Bain off shoring of jobs against him. OUch! Oh poor Mitt Flop! How are you going to flip out of this one? Question for Mitt "Let Detroit Fail" Romney:

Look, Jon Huntsman called him the well-lubricated weathervane. Rick Perry, among others, has called him a vulture. More than one senior figure in his party has accused him of lying. Several GOP primary opponents said he cheated in dirty campaign ads. A growing list of Republicans have called on him to disclose his tax returns. Primary opponents warned he could be hiding harmful truths therein. His own staff called him the Etch A Sketch candidate. These are serious charges. They come from Republicans.
Quick Mitt! Move to China, where you still have friends. After all, you did give em our jobs!
No but really America. It's time we get up, listen up and grow up. This election is very important.
If you have Social Security, Medicare, the right to vote, the right to an education, a clean park or a lake near you or an FDIC insured place to put your money. If you were given a disability check or a wheel chair ramp into the store you buy your food, if you like safe bridges, clean drinking water, clean air and a nontoxic environment, if you feel safe when you fly, or eat out, or give your child a toy, then it's time you give liberals and "regulations" the credit they deserve.
President Obama's record:
Saved the US economy from collapse.
Saved the US auto industry.
Reformed healthcare bringing coverage to people with preexisting conditions.
Stood up bravely for the gay community.
Ended the war in Iraq.
Helped bring down Qaddafi in Libya.
Killed Bin Laden.
Barrack Obama isn't perfect, but he is a thousand times the man Romney will ever be. This time around, Obama and Democrats get my vote, the choice is simple.
For the love of country and all people; register to vote and vote as much as you can!
I wish I could get on the daily GOP talking points email list. Have you ever noticed that they all say the same thing using almost the exact same words. So, the email goes something like, "Say he's a nice guy who is failing because he is simply over his head" ... and then 20 talking heads go out and mindlessly mumble the exact same criticism of the President. The theory is that if you hear the same thing several times from several different people, you might begin to think it's true. That is how they get people (not those with analytical skills) to believe really silly stuff. It would be funny if it weren't a bit creepy and scary.
That's all they've got.
Meanwhile, it was an absolute delight seeing Chris Mathews debate Reinhold Rinse Prius under the bus this morning. Chris exposed the GOP for being the frauds that they are, Rinse had to surrender under the barrage of legitimate questions and had no answers when called out for lies and hypocrisy. The GOP is stricken with bad candidates and an even worse platform. Hope they enjoy their clownshow in Tampa, because their party is in for an epic thumping come Nov 6th.
How come they don't want to talk about the "proven" success of their own economic ideology? Because it does not exist.
Of course they will continue the Obama Bashing. That's all they've got.
They are afraid to give anything close to details of their plans; the Dems will just use the details against them.
Please, let them bash the president all they want...it will only drive more independents away from them. They are preaching to the converted at this stage, and they don't understand why the poll numbers are not moving in their direction. They are having an internal conversation, and mistaking it for a real national debate.
Of course the Republicans will be in attack mode. The criminal party of Genocide Over Policy (GOP) has even less to offer today in 2012 than they did in 2008.
They will lose.
What else can Republicans do except bashing Obama? It is not as if Republicans can talk about their own plans for America. This will require that they have plans. Yes, I understand that Republicans' solution to every problem is to cut taxes and reduce regulations. But they cannot repeat that phrase for 4 days.
Could they also interject some concrete solutions for the country? Oh..sorry, I forgot...this is the GOP I am talking about.

Gonna report on the leaked GOP platform that they'll be voting on tomorrow which includes a very blatant privatization of Medicare and turning it into a defined controbution instead of defined benefit plan? Or is that not "approved journalism" by the advertising department because it would actually be so wildly unpopular and therefore damaging to the GOP?
