Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Monday was supposed to be Obama-bashing day to launch the Republican National Convention, and GOP organizers showed they weren't going to let something like a tropical storm totally derail their agenda.
While the full proceedings of the first day were canceled, effectively cutting the planned four-day convention to three, Republican officials kept up their efforts to frame President Barack Obama's term as a failure in terms of achievement, direction and substance.
You hypocritical righteous republicans better read up on the Mormons secret agendas.Romney that leads his church is deep in it and its very secretive, only immediate followers know what's really going on.Can you trust a Mormon who can't honestly hold his hand on that bible and say he'll uphold the office of the president when he only honors the secret agendas of John Smith and his Mormon church.Or can you trust a Mormon as Commander in Chief who'll send your children to war when he himself was sent overseas to France to try teaching Mormonism to French Catholics to avoid the Vietnam war ,a draftdodger, but that's their religion, they don't and won't involve themselves in any military conflict, its their teachings. So think hard everyone,we got trouble in all republican led states,do you want it nationwide,we had it for 8 years with Bush remember, ya want to go back there again,I most certainly don't!!!
The GOP has nothing to run on. Romney and Ryan are busy flip-floppin', and we have no specifics to compare them to the status quo. I think their 4 years of do-nothing leadership has hurt them. There is no leadership, just complaining. They are yet to acknowledge they caused the economic crash that they complain Obama hasn't been able to fix in four years (with them working against him no less).
Meanwhile, they pass all this radical anti-birth control and abortion legislation- no jobs bills, just government mandated morality.
GOP the party of hate and fear mongering. Totally unbelievable that anyone other than the rich vote GOP, except of course those full of hate. The GOP has become masters of promoting hate. Break the cycle of hate, stop voting GOP.
the repugs are just peeing on themselves everyday, well good luck bozos, he'll be there 4 more years
I would much rather hear from the Romney/Ryan Plan how they plan to cut $500 billion in revenue and still have an annual deficit that is still under $1 trillion dollars. To make it up with economic growth would require annual GDP at 30% in the first year alone.
They don't need to bash Obama. Just reminding them of the swath of destruction he has left after 3.5 years is enough.
YES ! After all, President Obama did start TWO unfunded wars, he cut taxes the nations UBER wealthiest citizens, he started a prescription program that was not paid for. To pile on for good measure, President Obama borrowed TRILLIONS from the Chinese, and he drafted TARP.
Now if FACTS have it right, all these things were done by one George W. Bush, but by somehow trying to come in and rectify the results of those disasters Obama has been a failure.
By failure conservatives must mean he didn't correct the flaming pile of s^%# left by W over a 8 year period. Right ?
Do conservatives mean my guy ( GW Bush ) f&^%$ up SO bad, that they're pretty upset the current president hasn't cleaned it up fast enough.
How do you start TWO wars, cut taxes, borrow money from China, draft TARP to bailout the banks who just robbed EVERYONE blind AND 'hide' the cost of those wars, then have the gall to call the guy who comes in to fix that mess a failure ?
they will talk about abortion -tax breaks for the rich, trickle down ,war with iran and deregulate every thing, same old ,same old
Obama has added more to the debt in 3.5 years than Bush in 8 years. Obama has had over 40 months of 8% or higher unemployment and the US has lost 280K in jobs since he was inaugurated. Medium and poor households have suffered in net worth more than any of the last three Presidents. On top of everything Obama has governed by Presidential fiat like Hugo Chavez when he has had a Democratic congress most his time in office. You must feel all alone on the Woodlands because I know not a sole there that share your far leftist views like our extremist President....
So let me get this straight...this guy your hero..is the pres. Of the u.s.a is the same one who wants to spread the wealth, who wants everyone to pay there ( fair share ) is the one who had a brother , George, who lives in third whorld poverty and wont do anything to help him wont share any of HIS wealth to help his own brother???? Whow this says a lot about you..or you just so stupid and uninformed that you didnt know that?? Maybe you should do some research on this (hero) of yours!!!
Prairiebus is a total disaster. He even looks like one.
The convention will only build upon past statements made by Republicans. For four years they have let us know that they would not support any of his efforts which could get him re-elected. They stood by silently as members of their own party bashed the President, published the most evil and demeaning cartoons, Showed no respect to the man who is President. Do they really think that their words and actions were not noticed. and continuously bombarded him with questions about his birth in Hawaii. The Republican Party has changed and not for the better. Any American who has not seen what they have been doing for four years is naive. It remains to be seen just how demeaning they will get all the while accusing the Democrats of new lows. The Republicans reached that low long ago.
And all we hear from Obama and team is, "It isn't our fault". He is the biggest whiner of a President. If he would grow some and try to change the country for the better he might have had a message for his re-election.
Nobody is "bashing" Obama. It is just a recital of what he has done over the last four years. His abysmal record is doing the bashing. Had he accomplished anything positive over the last 4 years in terms of the economy and jobs, there wouldn't be a problem with him getting re-elected. But here he sits, in a statistical tie with a person he spent $100 million to run negative ads against. Panic is setting in over in Obamaville. They haven't bought their luggage yet. Better hurry before the November rush.
Obama has added more to the debt in 3.5 years than Bush in 8 years. .....
You are cherry picking the facts, so I have the right to do the same. I'm so glad that you brought GWB. The final year, FY2009, of the GWB administration had a $1.46 trillion annual deficit, which also means that Bush has the lead because conservatives like to lump that year onto Pres. Obama.
Every year since FY2009, the deficit has been lower than the previous year, and is currently projected to barely crack one tirllion. Growth in actual government spending has remained flat. FY2012 is only 1.4% higher than FY2009. Under the Bush, we saw annual spending grow at an average of nearly 8%, with the highest growth rates occuring when Repubicans controlled everything.
"Nice try, but we gotcha."
They couldn't get Medicare to "wither on the vine" so they enacted policies intentionally designed to drive up the deficit and debt so they could use the two as their justification for killing Medicare...i.e., they went for the root system instead. Watch what their platform will do to Medicare. It won't be Medicare anymore because IT BREAKS THE PROMISE. There's no "as we know it" about it. They are adopting a platform tomorrow that ABSOLUTELY, UNDENIABLY KILLS MEDICARE OUTRIGHT.
And all we hear from Obama and team is, "It isn't our fault". ....
Conservatives like to assign blame to Obama for the Wall Street bailout, and other bad things that were in place, like The Great Recession, before Pres. Obama was even nominated much less sworn in.
Hey Bill, thanks for proving BostonianNTheWoodland's point. Did you think the wars were free - that if left off the books, that they just wouldn't count? Did you advocate for Bush's Enron style accounting?
Bill, did you like TARP when Bush was all in for it? So many phony deficit hawks that just got religion when a Democrat got in office, ignoring things that got it there like wars and perscription programs while simulaneously cutting taxes. People like that really need to remind themselves to repeat the Cheney mantra "deficits don't matter", otherwise they lose credibility and get laughed at on here.
