Ann Romney: Mitt 'will lift up America'

(CNN) - Ann Romney will describe her husband, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, as a problem solver who "has helped lift up others" in her Tuesday primetime speech at the Republican National Convention, according to excerpts released by the Romney campaign.

"This is the man who will wake up every day with the determination to solve the problems that others say can't be solved, to fix what others say is beyond repair," she is to say about her husband, according to the excerpts. "This is the man who will work harder than anyone so that we can work a little less hard."

She is slated to speak in the 10 p.m. ET hour of the convention.

Ann Romney is said to be one of her husband's strongest surrogates for her ability to connect with voters, and is to say, "Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts."

The excerpts also show her opening up about her marriage, family life, and personal struggles.

"I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a 'storybook marriage,' " she is to say. "Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer."

Should he be elected, Ann Romney is to say, her husband "will not fail."

"This man will not let us down," the excerpts read. "This man will lift up America!"

Mitt Romney is slated to speak on Thursday, the final day of the convention, forming what has been described as a "bookend" effect, with the majority of the convention occurring between her and her husbands' speeches.

  2. Fed Up with the Republicans

Mitt /Ryan/Ann will bring USA down the drain! These people are so arrogant and think they are the ones to solve the country's problems. Mitt and Ryan going to ruin the country's middle class and poor by dismantlying Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and Social Security benefits that is due to us. We contributed are taxes to these programs and now the filthy rich jerks like Romney/Ryan are going take everything away from us. Ann Romney came from a very wealthy family and I imagine she never had to work a day in her life during her younger years. She has no clue what is like to get up everyday , go to work, come home , fix dinner, and feed the children. She never had to experience what is like to live paycheck to paycheck..having to forego some things you need for yourself. The Republicans are a bunch of disgusting aliens from another planet. I want to see the Republican Party dissolved someday...they have done nothing but sheer evilness in this country. Hope President Obama will puit these jerks in their proper place someday. People need to get more Democrats in Congress than these ignorant Republicans!

This has been the Most Disgusting Republican election I have ever seen and Mitt Romney is so disgusting, illiterate, liar and acts like a severly uneducated politician. No wonder the British called him Mitt the Twit! He is definitely a Twit everytime he puts his big foot in his big mouth!

cali girl - truth, you wanna go there with the track record on Robmey. MA Governor, but won't talk about it (job creation ranked 47/50).
    ==========================================================================================
YES!!! You mean when he LOWERED the unemployment rate from 5.1% to 4.7%??? Numbers Obama could only DREAM OF!! BTW, 5% is considered full employment so 4.7% unemployement is a WORKER SHORTAGE!

    >Was great at Bain Capital, but won't talk about it (offshore and outsource).

YES!!! You mean where he helped SAVE hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of jobs??? I guess Obama nad the looney left would have preferred all those companies go under and everybody be unemployed? BTW, Obama cannot claim to save GM and not give Romney his due for saving all the other companies. Difference is that Romney did NOT use taxpayer money and did NOT violate the laws of the land to do it.

    >Took on Ryan and his budget plan which guts medicare into a coupon,

Total lie. You either haven't read it or are purposelt repeating the Democrat lies.

    > Ryan and his twin Akin are looking to shut down womens private parts.

    Egads, please seek treatment!

I am in a position to know that Mitt Romney will lift you up. He lifted me up to the top of his car and strapped me on. Then I was in for the wildest ride of my life. I was so scared that I soiled myself and the roof of the car. What did Mitt Romney do then? Well, let me tell you how smart this guy is: He just hosed off the car, hosed me off, put me back in my cage, and then lifted me up again right back on top of the roof of the car.

He swears to this day that I was happy about being lifted up there, but how much crap do you need to see to realize you've made a stupid mistake?

    Salutations,

    Seamus Romney

    to Fed up Republican -

You said it perfectly. There are some dumb americans that think that Romney/ryan are going to help them, they are the same people who voted in Bush and look where that got us. The repukes don't care about the Middle or Poor, never have never will.

Truth-For MA which is a state, not the US, that is still a very high tax rate, and according to the 47/50 that means only 3 states did worse in job creation, 46 did better than Robmey, and also MA was not in a recession at his helm, so 4.7 is way too high
The Ryan budget plan does give a coupon out, and the pundits have tagged Ryan as the Kill Medicare Kid.
As for the stupid comment on seek treatment, that is for you my friend, since women are being picked apart By Akin, Ryan and the rest of the GOP, that is their platform. You must have been somewhere else when Akin called rape "legitimate" that women have a built in GOD Shield to protect against conception by rape.
You need to check your facts before you start throwing around your own medical advice.

    Dear Mrs. Romney,

Millions of Americans do work very hard every day. Their wages just about pay the bills with very little left over. Some work two jobs, some three. Others are unemployed and watched as the business leaders, in their wisdom, outsourced jobs. The companies have even greater profits. Money went to off-shore accounts and to Swiss bank accounts. Will Mr. Romney go against those corporation leaders who are contributing to the pacs which support him? That would be courageous work.

As result our middle class is shriveling daily. It is not the government that is putting small businesses under tremendous financial pressure. It is the large corporations and big box companies that show up and force them to close.

It will take more than hard work to lift this country up. It cannot be done unless those on the bottom rung have the opportunity to move up. We do not need another trickle down economy.

When you and Mitt were young you were on strong financial footing.

Romney is not going to save America. Look what he did to Bain Capital and its employees. Romney is cold, and lacks compassion for the ordinary people who weren't lucky enough to be born with a golden spoon in their mouths. He is nothing but a very greedy businessman and a severe greed for power when he totally is unqualified to run for the presidency He has no clue about foreign policies and doesn't have finesse in conducting himself when he's with foreign politicians. Romney and Ryan both speak with forked tongues and they are just two bags of wind who have nothing to offer America but pains.. hardships, and alot of heartaches for the AMericans down the road.

Romney is very dangerous and he could make alot of enemies with other foreign countries. I don't trust him and Ryan one bit!

    @truth hurts,
OMG, you should get out more and watch something else besides FOX news... Mr. Ryan will introduce a "PRemium" medicare. It has been tried as a pilot program and FAILED (drove prices up and nobody wanted to use it).
Mr. Romney earned tens of milions of dollars by buying, slicing up and selling companies without any regard for the workers. Fine, he was doing his job and made Bain capital earn money... do I want him as president so that he will cut federal jobs and outsource them to private... absolutely not... and, unless you are multimillionaire, you might not want to either!

Can he will lift up America? I doubt it. It isn't quite the same as your face "lifts" honey. He can pay someone to do that.

Mitt is parading his wife around like a puppet to try to drum up women voters. Here look, see my wife is a real woman. Look at all she can do. She's just like other women, only millions and millions richer and doesnt' have to work or take care of kids because we pay someone to do all that stuff.

Ann Romney is no Michelle Obama. So should not even try. I also which their sons would stop addressing the President as Obama. They must show some respect. Not because they are rich they think they can treat the President like a dog. Who do they think they are?
