Josh Romney on dad's tax returns: 'He's paid his taxes'

(CNN) – Josh Romney, one of Mitt Romney's five sons, defended his father Monday against attacks over the presumptive GOP nominee's tax returns.

"He's paid his taxes," Josh Romney told CNN's Piers Morgan. "This is a gimmick by the Obama campaign to take the message off the economy and on to my dad's personal taxes."

Well, if he paid the taxes, why would he not reveal them. As an american that pays more taxes and making less than, I feel that is ashamed that he hides his money in these so called capital gain investments in the caribbean islands. Show me the truth and I would be quiet.

They ended to be personal when he decided to run for president! Mr. Romney should show his taxes to the Americans... I had to show more tax returns when I became citizen of this great country!

Josh, we know that your father paid his taxes. The issue remains as to why he paid only half the % of taxes that most of the middle class did.

And be careful about stepping into politics Josh. Your dad may have shielded you most of your life but politics is a nasty business so get ready for it.

Yeah we know he paid them but how much and did he get immunity for tax evasion. That's old time to move on to just showing us. Sent his son out to defend that, please.

When are the clueless Romneys going to realize that we don't trust any of them? They are multi-housed, muti-tax sheltered, priviledged, elitist fanatical multi-millionaires contributing billions to a "church" that many people consider bogus, ye of magical britches, yet won't pay their fair share.
Show us the tax returns if you want our votes, or just shut up, rich boy. Are you a tax attorney, little Romney clone?

It`s not a "gimmick" at all.

1.) It goes to the issue of TRUST. Hels hiding something in those secretive off-shore accounts.

2.) It is relevant to the whole Tax Reform / Deficit reduction/ pay-off tha National Debt topic. For 30 years the GOP have shifted wealth to the affluent while expanding the national debt through tax policies.

3.) It goes to love of country & fairness issues, Josh. Your dad talks tough about going to WAR. Yet, he`s not paid his fair share of taxes, never served in the military, and not ONE of his FIVE 9-11-Era sons signed up to serve their country. Tour father`s "taxes" reveal a lot about his character and his since of patriotic obligations.

    America doesn`t TRUST the Romneys.
