(CNN) - Mitt Romney makes a quick stop Wednesday to address an American Legion convention in Indianapolis, where he will also address American Legion Leadership at the Indiana War Memorial Museum and give remarks via satellite to the Republican National Convention.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama wraps up a two-day college town tour with a campaign rally in Charlottesville, Virginia–home of the University of Virginia–and first lady Michele Obama will make her third appearance on CBS' "Late Show" with David Letterman.

CNN Fact Check: Lower unemployment in GOP-led states?

(CNN) - Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell on Tuesday night tried to sell the American public on the virtues of having the GOP in charge of states.

In a speech at the Republican National Convention, McDonnell said that unemployment was lower in states led by Republican governors than in those headed by Democrats.

By the numbers: Republican convention

(CNN) - This is the second-straight Republican National Convention disrupted by storms. Four years ago, Republicans gathering in Minneapolis delayed the political revelry to focus on disaster relief from Hurricane Gustav, which hit Louisiana.

This year, the event was closer to the weather action also targeting Gulf Coast states. Tropical Storm Isaac skirted western Florida on Monday but was expected to strengthen into a hurricane. Headliners at the Tampa convention were pushed back a day to Tuesday with the nomination of Mitt Romney still on schedule for Thursday.

E-mails show White House support for bin Laden movie

(CNN) – Newly released e-mails show the Obama administration was eager to help the makers of an upcoming documentary on the dramatic raid that led to the death of Osama bin Laden - and the e-mails are likely to once again raise questions about whether the filmmakers had special access.

The records from the CIA and Defense Department were made public Tuesday by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - Mitt Romney officially clinched the GOP presidential nomination, then watched his wife deliver a political broadside with a personal touch at the Republican National Convention that seeks to portray the multimillionaire former businessman as a champion of working-class Americans who struggle under the policies of President Barack Obama.

The storm-delayed convention continues Wednesday with Romney's running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice taking the stage to make their case for why the GOP ticket can do better if elected in November.

Democrats in Tampa: What did Romney build?

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Democrats wasted no time on Tuesday trying to undercut Republicans as they began their convention, attacking a key GOP message before party luminaries took the spotlight in Tampa.

Republicans aggressively pushed their convention theme, "We Built It," while Democrats sought to turn it back on Mitt Romney, who was affirmed as the nominee by a roll call of delegates in the first significant moments of the event.
