Paul supporters protest through convention halls

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - A large number of Ron Paul supporters marched through the halls of the Tampa Bay Times Forum, site of the Republican convention, protesting what they feel is unfair treatment by organizers against them.

The group, estimated at several hundred, marched through the upper hallways of the site shouting "As Maine goes, so goes the nation" in protest of the Republican National Committee voting not to seat 10 delegates from Maine and replacing them with pro-Mitt Romney ones. Also 10 alternates were not seated.

The protesting contingent, which included some delegates, some alternate delegates and supporters, marched through the corridor on the level of the forum above the convention floor.

Maine delegate Bernie Johnson, who backed Paul, told CNN it was in protest "of the injustice" done by the RNC.

Some of the participants said the demonstration was spontaneous and was not planned in advance. "It just grew," Johnson said.

The group had come to the site to watch a video tribute to Ron Paul and to hear the speech from his son, Rand. After both were done is when they were getting ready to leave and the protest came about. Once they'd made their presence known the group dispersed.

How could you disagree with anything Ron Paul has to say unless you didn't believe in sound money, free markets, transparent government, a transparent Federal Reserve, right to life, liberty and the freedom to pursue your happiness. If you disagree with Ron Paul you better open you eyes and ears to his message, because he is the only politician who defends the U.S. Constitution and supports this so called "Land of the Free!!! 1 vote for Ron Paul is 1 less for Romney! Write-in you message at the polls! They may know how to flip digital votes, but a write-in is permanent! RON PAUL 2012 or economic BUST!!!!!

I listened to RP during the primary season. I liked a lot of what he said. I agree with him on a lot of issues. He's a good and decent man. But it's way past time he and his supporters quit trying to steal the spotlight away from the man of the hour. Face it folks, you tried and it didnt work out. Either get on board with the nominee or get out of the way. You helped get Obama elected by doing this 4 years ago. Don't repeat that mistake. If you are so disaffected with the GOP then start your own party. But stop trying to hijack this one and then whine incessantly when you can't convince a majority to agree with you. RINO's indeed!

The 'big tent' Republican party is apparently the 'pup tent' Republican party. The only people allowed in their tent are people like Charles and David Koch, Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, et. al.

So many people don't see all the shady dealings that have been done behind closed doors. Then when they do most seem to think that it won't ever happen to them. More people need to seriously get informed about politics and economics. Start here http://www.dailypaul.com. ignorance will be the downfall of our nation. If you don't decide to dig and inform yourselves, say hello to the authoritarian 2 party dictator system. Me? I'm writing in Ron Paul come November. Google search does gold effect the price of oil.

Having delegates seated helps to vote on the platform for the party, so the Republicans screwing Ron Paul (again) is quite a big deal. This gives the establishment Republicans more voice to shove their agenda through and into the party platform for the election, so Ron Paul's supporters are right to be noisy about this. The establishment Republicans are a nasty bunch, and although I am a Ron Paul supporter, I certainly won't be supporting MItt Romney for November. He is a sleazy punk who will do anything and bend any which way to win an election. I hope Ron Paul's supporters won't vote for Mitt Romney and vote for a third party candidate instead. When your choices are Obama and Romney, a third party vote is certainly not a waste.

Politics aside, this is a respect issue. The man is a senior citizen who busted his behind traveling across the country and earning his delegates the hard way. Total disrespect by the REAL elite: the GOP puppet masters.

The republican party continues to shoot itself in the foot to achieve the goal of complete power over voters. This isn't about Ron Paul. This is about the mockery of the political process. The RNC ignored many of its own rules, changed others, and now has implemented new rules to ensure they choose the nominee in future elections, not the American people. They showed their willingness to muzzle their own people and throw them under the bus just to ensure their power and status quo is kept. I wanted to vote for the GOP this election. I wanted to see Obama lose re-election. That said I don't want to see Romney elected. The GOP leadership has made it loud and clear about what they think of the average American. You are welcome in their tent as long as you sit down and shut up and do what they say. I'll vote for Gary Johnson. A clean conscience is more than you will get from Romney or Obama.

Ron Paul would be the greatest thing to happen to the States. Why do people support the same big parties that have destroyed the US?

I'll never understand how the Republican's can outrageously lie about everything, keep repeating their lies despite evidence to the contrary, do everything they can to suppress voter's right to vote, pull every dirty trick they can, and still get unquestioned support from the very people who will be hurt most by Republican policies. Is the lack of a basic education and thinking skills that bad in America?

Sorry Libertarians – but you got royally played and its game over. Why they didn't see this coming is beyond me; I have nothing against RP personally, though his policies are not in line with my beliefs, but I will give him credit for "probably" being more honest than most. But stop pretending there is some moral win – you either won or lost, he lost.

The main reason why the Republicrats bash Ron Paul is because he is against their Paymasters in the Federal Reserve.

Notice how Neither Romney Nor Obama will even mention the real cause of our financial problem The Federal Reserve and the inflation it causes.

Thomas Jefferson himself warned us what would happen if we allowed banks to control our currency first by inflation then by deflation. "The banks and the corporations that grew up around them would deprive US citizens of all prosperity until our children wake up homeless on the land their forefathers conquered"

We need to restore the power to print money back to Congress, not some foreign owned private bank masquerading as a government entity. The Federal Reserve is no more Federal than Federal express.

Ron Paul is one of the few who stood against the Rob America Blind Act ..... The bailout.

  21. GREEN PARTY 2012

Oh that my good conscience i no longer have to default democrat to secure a lesser of two evils scenario. I have been a vibrant supporter of the Green Party on the local level, but left the presidency to the democrats in fear that a republican presidency would be much more damaging then could be possibly imagined under the democrats. i did so with a lump in my conscience. BUT NO MORE!! thank you RNC for driving libertarian factions in your party into the libertarian party, because now i can vote with progressive conscience for the real working class party, the green party.

Libertarians and fellow Greens, lets send a proverbial message to the banking parties (democrats and republicans) lets vote our conscience and our beliefs nor longer will we support the big interest parties!

I'm all for a third party. It can happen, there's nothing in our laws that says it can't. It requires a few great leaders, finacial backing, a by-law to get to get participants on the same and demand to be an option on voter registration. Lastly, it would have to use an alibino animal for its avitar to complete the colors of the flag.
