Romney tests Tampa momentum; Democrats hope to blunt it in Charlotte

Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) - Mitt Romney departed Tampa, Florida, on Friday hoping to ride any momentum he had built up over the past week as he makes the final turn into the November election.

Romney's acceptance address won't go down as often quoted but it got the job done. He introduced his version of himself to America after months of his persona being defined by President Barack Obama's campaign and allies. He and running mate Paul Ryan tried to plant a seed of doubt about the next four years of an Obama administration. They didn't offer much in the way of specifics about how a Romney administration would shift the sluggish economy into a higher gear but had plenty of reasons why Obama's administration hasn't.

Mr. Romney, how about Bain Capital. You were still the CEO. Your taxes will prove you were not an active part of the company if you release them. Show us the Taxes?

I thought Candy' Crowley's inteview with Ann Romney was terrific. The question about what Ann and Mitt did at the end of the evening was a great question.

At best, Romney will head into next week with no more than a 3-4 point bounce, that will coming crash after the DNC convention in Charlotte. This fight won't be decided until the debates. The 1st debate is usually on Domestic Policy, 2nd is either on Town Hall debate and the Last is on Foreign Policy. Romney IMO doesn't have a chance in the Foreign Policy debate so he has to make a strong impression in the 1st 2 debate to win in November. If he shows any doubt how he can fix the economy in the next 4 years or is sluggish, Obama walks away with the election, 332 to 206. Romney can't think the President is like Perry, Santroum, Paul or Newt. He looked good in some of the debates and then look bad in others. He has no room for error.

The Democrats better speak the truth because 90% of the Republican convention speeches were outright, fact checked, provable, downright lies and the Dems can trump those lies with a truthful convention. The Republicans built their entire convention and slogans on out of context soundbites and lies so they started with lies and ended with lies. Democrats have a excellent opportunity right now to get the truth out on top of the lie filled Republican convention. If the Republicans who spoke had a lie detector hooked up to them when they were speaking most of them would have been blown to smitherines from so many outright lies

Romney's momentum was from his rushing out of Tampa, before people had a chance to realize that he was upstaged by an empty chair.

"He introduced his version of himself to America ". His version of himself huh? Why not introduce his real self to America?. Are you afraid we won't like you? Frankly I'd rather see Crazy Clint become president before you.

Well, he might do a better job 'riding that momentum' if he could just tame his fascistic tendencies a bit.

Today–speaking in Lakeland Florida–he slipped up a tad and called the USA a "company": "Paul Ryan and I understand how the economy works... want to make sure this company deals with its challenges..."

Gulp. I hope we all don't get fired.

Nobody defined Romney, he made himself the big flip flopper ever in us history. Romney was talking about how his father would be proud to see him becoming the Republicans nominee, but what he forgot to say is that his father will recommend him to follow his steps by releasing 12 years of tax returns.
what Romney is hiding to the Americans ?
I can't consider voting for something who always hide things, refuse to be specific, and turn around.
    what did Romney

The good ol' seed of doubt. Karl Rove has figured it out. Just lie to the dumb for they will not know the difference or they won't care. Fact checking takes to much effort for these people. They just say, "all politicians lie" then they continue on, accepting the lie they were told as truth. After the DNC, Romney's team will tell these dummies that all bad things said about Romney & Ryan were all lies, all good things said about Obama were lies. The zombies will accept everything their team feeds them. Many of these dummies will watch the DNC with a raging anger because they believe our President was born in another country and that George Soros is bribing Obama the socialist. 99% of them don't even know the definition of socialist. They laugh at Romney's remark about the rising seas and healing the planet. They believe scientists are all telling lies to help Obama's agenda, yet not one of them has researched the facts or feels they should. PLEASE VOTE FOR OBAMA or we are in trouble!!

"He introduced his version of himself to America...."

Most of us don't have "versions" of ourselves - we just have who we are, and that's who we introduce to people. This makes it sounds like Romney is the latest release of a product just launched by Microsoft.

FACT-CHECKING is “the key” to let us know who is LYING (even though it is Sooooo OBVIOUS Romney/Lyan is doing that)

Now that RobMe/Lyan's campaigns is going to IGNORE IT and not care that they are LYING, RobMe/LYAN's momentum for the audience they were appealing to during their convention WILL may be the same – BUT, the VOTERS in the end who “cares about lies,” will have the last word; (plus the fact that the majority of voters are REFUSING to allow billionaires to buy our election!!!).

What momentum? The biggest thrill of the shortened strip joint city convention was an empty chair.
The vp nominee came out, even in his home town of Janesville, as the biggest liar of the two of them and that takes a LOT since the flip flopper was pro choice in 2002 and now he isn't and he consider himself a center liberal and now he is not.

Romneys still an elitist no matter how you cut it and no he didn't sway anyone outside the convention,at least the intelligent ones..Romney still has a fight on his hands and not mentioning the wars, military men, women serving in his acceptance speech because he'd be a hypocrite if he did being a draft dodger during the Vietnamese war. He'll say its because he's Mormon and his religion doesn't believe in war,o right then don't advocate for defense spending, pentagon spending or anything war like, better yet go to another country that can protect you and your elitist wealth, religion like America does, until then shut your hypocritical Mormon mouth up or drop out, either one suits me fine!!!
