
Cincinnati (CNN) - Saturday was game day for huge swaths of college sports fans across the country, and for the Republican ticket in Ohio the focus was not much different.

Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) - Guess who's coming to the Tar Heel State on the day before the start of the Democratic convention?
Mitt Romney's presidential campaign announced Saturday that Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will hold a rally in Greenville, North Carolina on Monday. The campaign says the afternoon Labor Day rally will take place at the student recreation center at East Carolina University.

Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan showed off the campaign's new planes shining in the bright Florida sun Friday, but the aircraft are hardly brand new.
The Republican presidential candidate's aircraft is a MD-83 built by McDonnell Douglas in 1990, according to FAA records.

(CNN) – President Barack Obama and Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana spoke about jobs in their Labor Day weekend weekly addresses, with Obama focused on jobs performed by members of the military and Scalise on Republican jobs proposals in Congress.
The Louisiana Republican represents part of the state hit this week by Hurricane Isaac, which left many displaced and hundreds of thousands without power Saturday, as well as by Hurricane Katrina seven years before.
