
Washington (CNN) – A U-Haul truck loaded with equipment for a Monday event featuring Vice President Joe Biden was stolen in Detroit Sunday, a spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service said.
"A U-Haul that we were utilizing was stolen at the Westin Hotel overnight," Ed Donovan told CNN.

FULL STORYCharlotte, North Carolina (CNN) – A California man has agreed to step down from his position as a voting delegate at this week's Democratic National Convention after an incident with police at a local hotel early Sunday morning.
"Earlier this morning, we received reports that indicated two members of the delegation were intoxicated when they arrived at their hotel. Hotel staff noticed that one of the men appeared to be unconscious and immediately called paramedics for assistance. The delegate was taken to a local hospital. He has since recovered and been released," said California Democratic Party spokesman Tenoch Flores in a statement. "Additionally, the other delegate according to several reports, became disruptive with hotel staff and emergency technicians, prompting the hotel to call police. The delegate was not arrested."

Boulder, Colorado (CNN) - Visiting his second Colorado university in less than a week, President Barack Obama tried to spark a little voter registration competition on Sunday between two traditional sports rivals.
"I know you guys are a little bummed out about the game yesterday. I know the Rocky Mountain Showdown did not go down the way you wanted," the president told a crowd of 13,000 at Colorado University on Sunday.

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden claimed Sunday that Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential nominee, might engage in war with Syria and Iran if elected president in November.
"He said it was a mistake to end the war in Iraq and bring all of our warriors home," Biden said at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania. "He said it was a mistake to set an end date for our warriors in Afghanistan and bring them home. He implies by the speech that he's ready to go to war in Syria and Iran."

(CNN) - Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee both had harsh words for conservative strategist Karl Rove on Sunday after Rove joked about murdering GOP U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, whose controversial comments about rape and pregnancy drew the ire and condemnation of most Republicans. Both Gingrich and Huckabee referred to former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as they condemned Rove's joke.
"We should sink Todd Akin. If he's found mysteriously murdered, don't look for my whereabouts," Rove said Thursday at a private fund-raiser, according to a Businessweek reporter who was not supposed to be there.
