Tampa, Florida (CNN) – The task of selling a Mormon presidential candidate to evangelical America has fallen to a public relations man who’s not even getting paid for what may be the toughest sales job of his career.
For six years, Mark DeMoss has served as Mitt Romney’s unofficial evangelical ambassador, making the case that born-again Christians should help elect the first Mormon to the White House.
I think selling Romneycare paying for abortions in MA, tax cuts for the wealthy, more wars, and supporting a person who has been wrong on almost every issue would be a hard sell, but Mittens is white, I think.
Born again Christians should take a close look.at the Mormans beliefs, they would discover quickly they are nothing more than a cult. they believe they will go to a planet,Koleb, at some point. They also believe they can become gods after acheiving certain things. Way off the norm.
Hey. Mitt gives the mandatory 10 percent to his Church. Ought to be good enough for the born-agains, don't ya think?
The question pose! can he separate his religion faith from the country business?
I guess we can all assume that Mr. DeMoss will play down an interesting core belief held by Mormons who are part of the inner sacred circle: When you die, you become a god who rules over your own universe. What a lot of people fail to understand is that being POTUS for Romney is merely a short intermediate step in a process that has a much more rewarding final scenario.
What a wonderful progression: Bain Capital to POTUS to Ruler of a Universe!
The real question is: How does one behave as a President if Bain Capital is the start of your ascendency and Ruler of a Universe is the ultimate goal?
Choices to make...let's see, it's either Obama or a Mormon. Think I will go with the Mormon. Obama is too scary. Think about someone who wants everyone to work for the government and you have California community after community that is going bankrupt for that same reason. This country is going bankrupt because of government unions and private sector unions driving businesses overseas. This will continue to happen until we get our house in order...break up the unions that have gotten out of control and driven us into this mess.
I recall this same hype when John F Kennedy was running for office...oh my God, he is Catholic. The world didn't come to an end back then and it won't come to an end now either.
Ron Paul has already endorsed Gary Johnson, the libertarian candidate for president. Everybody should take a look at his speech at The Ron Paul Festival: search for a video at youtube called: “The most important and powerful political speech in history?”
Romney is running completely on faith. He has no plans, no specifics, and no tax returns. You just have to believe him on faith, because he will not tell you how he will do the things he has promised to do.
No problem, Mitt can become evangelical before the election date if it is needed to win election
romney belongs to an evil cult that challenges the God of heaven and earth. No true born again christian will support him otherwise the american evangelicals are saying that what they preach is a deceptive gospel and not the gospel of the kingdom. a romney victory will put a nail on american coffin as Bush2 started the decline of the american empire. Vote B O.
Come on CNN. The fact that the mormons are supposed to be Jesus followers but don't believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a virgin is too much factual information for the conservative "christians"?
You afraid that they might take a second or third or fourth look at this piece of lying slime and maybe NOT vote for him?
I have many reasons NOT to support Mitt Romney but his religion is NOT one of them and to anybody who feels that it should be is a pretty sad and narrow minded person in my opinion.
This whole election is how to unite all Geo Christian Faiths to the right in the name of God . And with the direction not of God , But the interoperation of men , who's power is fear , non acceptances , close-mindedness.
What we are witnessing is a inward crusade in our own country.
Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini said the Catholic Church was "200 years out of date" in his final interview before his death, published on Saturday.
