First on CNN: DNC secretly scheduled guests: Actresses Johansson, Portman, Washington

Charlotte (CNN) - Clint Eastwood meet Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington.

The three actresses, firmly anchored in Hollywood's royalty, have been secretly scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention, according to a tentative schedule provided by a source to CNN.

– Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

The schedule lists the three actresses as speaking on Thursday evening, the same night that President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will accept their party's respective nominations. Johansson, Portman and Washington are listed as following The Foo Fighters on the itinerary. Convention officials announced that the alternative rock band would perform last week.

A source told CNN the hope is to have the three actresses appear on stage together.

It's unclear if the schedule has been finalized or is subject to change. When contacted by CNN, a DNC official said that no final details about the Thursday program would be divulged at this time.

CNN reached out to representatives for each actress but did not receive comment for Johansson and Portman. A representative for Washington would only say the actress is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Though several celebrities are slated to attend the DNC, appearances by Johansson, Portman and Washington would surely invite special political scrutiny.

All three are popular, award-winning actresses and among Hollywood's most bankable stars. But perhaps more importantly, all three represent demographics that Democrats hope to win by wide margins: women and young voters.

Johansson is 27 years old, Portman is 31 and Washington is 35.

Should the actresses take the stage supporting the president it could help Democrats present a picture of inclusiveness and diversity within the party. Johansson and Portman are white, Washington is African-American.

Meanwhile, an appearance by the trio would come one week after another political surprise move by a Hollywood royal.

Clint Eastwood delivered an unannounced speech at the Republican National Convention on Romney's behalf on Thursday. Though it was well received by conservatives in attendance and others watching at home – Eastwood's speech, where he had a conversation with an imaginary President Obama represented by an empty chair, was mocked by many others.

One thing Eastwood has in common with the women: they are all critically acclaimed actors.

In addition to positive reviews in other films, Portman won an Academy Award in 2011 for her role in "The Black Swan." Johansson has seen critical acclaim for roles in films such as "Lost in Translation," "A Love Song for Bobby Long" and "The Other Boleyn Girl." Washington currently stars in ABC's hit show "Scandal" and roundly received praise for her roles in the films "For Colored Girls," "The Last King of Scotland" and the Ray Charles biopic, "Ray."

Johansson, Portman and Washington were vocal supporters of Obama in 2008.

A bunch of Hollywood actors and we are supposed to be surprised? Dems are a laugh a second, even stealing SNLs limelight. We know Hollywood is going to lay it on thick, they have paid Obama enough, they should all get their turn.

Why all the haters? Clint, the legend he is made a fool of himself, it's not his fault though, it is the GOP's fault.Their big night was a joke, but maybe that is just a little insight as to how a Romney whitehouse would look.......A JOKE. So stop hating on the ladies, that's why they support the President, GOP think women, should stay in their "place" like Mrs. Romney, said during her speech, "women we are the mother's, caregivers", "basically the slaves to our men" Women are done with that "servant" role, NO THANKS,4 MORE FOR 44, OBAMA/BIDEN 2012,NOV.6, VOTE!!!

To anyone who thinks these three Ladies are the top-of-the-ticket celebrity representation at the DNC, I believe you are mistaken to think that way. There will surely be a AAA-lister showing up "un-announced". Someone who represents not only the box office best sellers, not only the best of the Academy Award winners, but someone who is *highly* respected by just about anyone with a beating heart.

Rudy NYC-They are not just any women, but successful women with staying power. This will drive the right wing bugnuts.
    ________________________________________________________________
HA!!! yeah successful women? when was the last time u saw anything they did worth $15 @ the movies. Yep they sure do relate to all the "single" women that Dems say the govt will be there to pay all their birth control, child care (hey a few-they free), abortion, medical needs, housing, car, phone, food and gas (why should single women work?). Yep these women are the prime example for all women & little girls in this country. I'm sure u want ur daughters to emulate them and all the liberal women in hollywood, in everyway.

"...the only thing they have going for them is their looks, certainly not their brains."
    ******
    Really?
Natalie Portman: Fluent in 5 languages, dual citizenship with Israel and United States, Graduated Harvard in 2003.
Kerry Washington: Attended elite Spence School in New York on a scholarship, Graduated George Washington
    University in 1998.
Scarlett Johansson: Has received 4 Golden Globe award nominations (won at least 2), graduated from a
Children's Performing Arts School, performed on broadway. You don't get this kind of recognition on "looks"
    alone.
So, what was that about "no brains"? Try again.

Such bitterness by Clint's defenders. They want to hang on to his past glory, because the future has passed them by. What Clint should have done is hiring a competent speech writer. He would have sounded coherent. On the other hand, Clint's speech still outshone Mitt Romney's speech. Then again, an empty chair would have outshone Romney's speech. Yes, Republicans, search your feelings. You know this to be true.

So... a old white man speaks at the RNC and he's an American Legend, but a young Isreali woman speaks at the DNC and she's a bimbo... dispite being an Oscar winner and an Ivy League Grad. Yeah, I think we still have work to do with gender equality.

For all you idiots who are questioning the significance of these three appearing on stage, let me inform you of how Romney would cut music and arts programs from schools. I guess (among other things like heathcare for all) he thinks it is a waste of time and money. So, what better representation of the arts than these three young ladies. Maybe if Romney would have invested some time in the arts program, he wouldn't be such a robotic stiff in the pants.

The war on women continues, now the GOP knuckle-dragging intellectual lightweight supporters are seen in action as well. All one has to see is the comments they leave here. The GOP and their supporters stand for nothing but ignorance, intolerance, hatred, and racism. That's why the GOP is so despised, and that's why they'll never win a major election again.

Are they trying to compare the weight of Clint Eastwood to these women? Give me a break! That is a complete joke and shows the mentality of the Democratic party. Compare the resumes.

A lot of sexism on display in these comments. Just because these women are beautiful doesn't mean they aren't intelligent or significant. All of them have been politically active within the Democrat party for many years. They have earned their places at the convention. Just as Eva Longoria has. They deserve respect and recognition for their contributions to the democratic process, not childish snipes from people who don't seem to respect women in general.

First of all those programs r being cut right now as we speak. Is that Romney's fault or the unions. Check how much money for each child goes to the teachers unions and not to the kids.
Secondly, these women & they hollywood types send their kids to private schools that offer these programs. They went to private schools themselves so give me a break about Romney cutting school programs when they do not exist in the 1st place!

America has already made their decision, all this hoopla means barely anything. Obama is the Hollywood President Stooge that gets a ton of support from the rich and famous that he wants to raise taxes on. I think its Ironic that every one is all over the top 1% of our country when they pay 70% to the existing tax base and 50% of America does not pay taxes. Thats the problem Obama, you and your cronies are too busy doing the re-distributing the wealth program to realize what you are doing to America. This is OK because on November 6, The American people will vote their conscience and take their country back and the Dems will be all butt hurt.

What in the heck do these three movie stars know about the "real world" and what's going on?
    ---------------------------------------------------–
How funny! Republicans are willing to vote for Romney and Ryan and they believe those two spoiled preppies know about the "real world"? Do you mean the "real world" of dressage horses? Maybe you mean that "real world" with "friends who own NASCAR and NFL teams"? I suppose you're talking about the "real world" of those with servants, gardeners, pool boys, cooks, drivers, personal trainers, private pilots, and personal security guards?
