Washington (CNN) - The Justice Department has approved a law that calls for New Hampshire voters to provide photo identification when they go to the polls.
Approval of the law, which requires the use of government-issued photos, was announced in a letter from T. Christian Herren Jr., head of the Voting Section in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, sent to attorneys for the state Tuesday.

Four electoral votes. For some reason, in New Hampshire this is not discrimination against minorities, but in other states it is. That's odd. I wonder what makes New Hampshire so enlightened.
A step in the right direction
How can they change this for the general election, when they had a different set of rules in the primaries?
I think we are going to have pass a national law that sets a national standard for national elections. State's rights, yes, but this is a bigger than states rights.
If you can't beat them, suppress them.
Well, guess what...it's not going to work!
It really does look so desperate on the part of the GOP to start implementing all of these voting restrictions like they are doing.
Stay classy, GOP.
New Hampshire doesn't have a history of Voter Suppression. Now Texas, & other Southern States...hmmmm. History DOES repeat itself. Denying "some" the Right to Vote doesn't dissapear.
whats next red shoes –freedom right –in iraq its a blue finger
Stay classy, GOP

Long past that station I'm afraid.
I see EVERY single state with a Republican governor trying to implement these new Voting ID laws. It is part of the memo mandating that new Voting ID laws, and attempts at redistricting be brought up for legislation or they face losing the financial support of the Party when they come up for re-election.
Think I'm kidding? Not at all. They act in unison. Whether they are acting righteously or otherwise is simply irrelevant, the goal is and has always been since January 20th, 2009 making sure President Obama does NOT get a second-term.
Obama 2012. Seriously America.
Once again the GOP shows it's true colors. They are so afraid that they haven't done enough already, i.e. obstruction in congress, to derail Obama's reelection, they are doing everything they can to suppress voters rights in this country knowing very well that most of the ones that are affected would vote for Obama. How freaking sad!!
That Voter Registrar guy in Pennsylvania said those exact words, "this will insure Robmey will win this state"
They need to eliminate the #1&2 on voting machine.
