No balloons to close Democratic convention

Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) - The balloon drop that traditionally concludes a presidential convention will not happen following President Obama's acceptance speech.

A Democratic official confirmed to CNN that "there will be a festive conclusion to Thursday night's session, but no balloons."

Earlier Wednesday, President Barack Obama's campaign and the Democratic Party announced that they're moving the concluding day of the Democratic National Convention from the outdoor Bank of America football stadium to the indoor Time Warner Cable arena, where the first two days of the convention are being held.

Campaign and party officials say they are moving indoors for the final night due to the strong possibility of thunderstorms.

Okay, in an article about no balloon drop you'd figure they'd say why? I guess not.

Everytime I read some of these comments I am reminded that this is the "silly season".
"No Israel" in the platform? Wow, I thought the money we send over there would be enough. I also thought we
were doing America's business, not Israel's.
"No God" – can you actually look into their hearts and minds and say "No God" there? No you can't.

Having no god in the convention is a good thing, the whole separation of church and state thing comes to mind. Also no balloons can be considered good as well being that there is a helium shortage.

Paul Ryan is the male version of Sarah Palin! Where is the Republican Party finding their VP selections? Sarah Palin referred to herself as "a rottweiller with lipstick"! A good self-reference for Paul Ryan would be "an ADD chihuahua on speed" salivating on the privatization of Social Security and Medicare. Visualize Paul Ryan taking ove the presidency should something happend to Mitt Romney? Ann Romney has emphatically stated this election is for "grown-ups"! Kid Paul Ryan interrupts adults while speaking, wants all the toys and could care less for the other kids in the sand box!

No balloons? I can't believe they would do it to save money, so they must be dropping something more expensive. Or ....the hot air was all left in Washington, DC.If we could get the politicians to close their mouths during the spring and summer, we wouldn't have to worry about global warming any more.

Good idea. That balloon thing was tacky and circus-like, or like a kid's birthday party.
