Obama to include specific goals in acceptance address

Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) - With exactly two months to go until Election Day, President Barack Obama gets ready to give what will most likely be the most important speech of his bid for a second term in the White House.

So what will the president say as he speaks to the nation from the podium of the Time Warner Cable Arena?

"The president will lay out the economic choice in this election, with a heavy focus on his economic vision," says an Obama campaign official. "The speech will include specific goals for America on that front."

America has already seen his economic vision, and we don't like it

Will he promise that America will have the same number of jobs at the end of his term than when he takes office? Because he did not do this in his first term.

Mitt Romney has already said he will help create 12 million new private sector jobs by the end of his first term. And he has explained how that will happen. There's the gauntlet, Obama. Dare to pick it up?

I hope decriminalizing marijuana and legalizing it is part of his vision for the future. We can be out of debt real quick if the government legalized weed and taxed it.

When you don't cross the aisle, and can't get your own party to work with you.., specific goals have zero meaning.

While republicans talk to empty chairs and argue with card board cutouts, the president moves forward to make our country better. No a single republican voted to get us out of the Bush republican near depression.

"President Obama started with a much weaker economy than I did. No President – not me or any of my predecessors could have repaired all the damage in just four years. But conditions are improving and if you'll renew the President's contract you will feel it." Bill Clinton 2012 DNC Convention speech.

Considering how deep the damage done was globally, one wonders why Mitt Romney isn't explaining what actually did go wrong instead of focusing so much on Obama not cleaning "it" up fast enough. No doubt - if he were honest - even George Bush would acknowledge how little the American people were told about just how damaged the economy was when Obama first took office.

Can't wait. NO specifics from Romney/Ryan.
President Clinton exposed some major flaws with how the Republicans have sidetracked this election.
Any positive numbers on the job front, even weak numbers, indicate the economy is moving in the right direction.
When President Bush's administration was losing jobs like a vacuum, things definitely were not good. President Obama has not had one month of negative job loss. As President Clinton stated, are we there yet? No. Are you feeling it yet? No. But you WILL!!

Seriously?? Mitt has NOT provided one single specific, other than, of course, more trickle down ... Where have the so-called "job creators" been for the last four years while their taxes have been low??

Why do right wingnuts prefer losing 8 million American jobs in the last three years of Bush the destroyer, instead of 4.5 million jobs being created in the last 29 months under Obama? Oh yeah, the GOP has bet against America.

You might find this shocking, but I actually agree with your legalize / tax marijuana stance.

HOWEVER... if you think that's going to get us out of debt, you really have no clue as to how much money $16 Trillion is. In 2009, federal tax revenue for tobacco was just over $17 Billion, or 1/1000 of the debt... and we'd collect nowhere near $17 Billion in pot tax.

How has Romney explained he will create 12 million jobs? Cut taxes and cut spending??? We don't need to hear words from politicians anymore. We have lived through these policies and they don't work!! Cut taxes for the rich and they park their money in Swiss bank accounts and European vacations. They don't spend the money in America and create jobs. The Clinton years were better than the Bush years so I will vote for DNC policies. They don't sound as good as GOP bumper sticker slogans like, 'drill baby drill', but the DNC policies just work better.

Sorry GOP the last 20 years have proven in today's global economy, the DNC have the right vision.

Mittens has a plan so secret that he cannot tell anyone how his is going to give bigger tax cuts to the wealthy, start more wars, eliminate all regulations that would prevent another economic meltdown, and take away women's rights, and it will only cost $5 trillion added to the national debt.

"What, has Obama/ Biden 2012 got lockjaw all of the sudden? Why are they not taking a stand against this form of embezzlement? Do they actually approve of this?!?!"

The FBI is investigating it. Mind telling the class (a) who is ultimately in charge of the FBI and (b) why it would be such a great idea for that person to speak publicly about an ongoing investigation before there are any facts whatsoever...or even once there are facts? Fact is, you'd be blaming Obama if the FBI or DOJ failed to jump on this kind of thing, but you fail to give credit that the FBI has AND you fail to consider the implications if the sitting POTUS and VP were to publicly comment on an ongoing investigation of such a sensitive political nature...and such a sensitive nature in general.

That's not going to be true. Pres. Obama will finish with a net gain, despite losing 3 million jobs between Jan. and Jun. 2009, which is when the Great Recession officially ended. BTW GWB had a net loss of over 600,000, which is ten times what the net loss stands at today for Obama.

I must admit to NEVER before caring to tune in to either Party"s televised conventions or the requisite speeches. Last week, and this week I've done so for the first time. I recall you posting that you had never missed watching a convention but that you wouldn't do so this year. Well my friend I did it in your stead. Thank you for inspiring me to do so. It was quite an exhilarating, at times, and enlightening experience.
P.S. I was too worked up to eat popcorn, especially watching Bill Clinton's extraordinary speech last night! LOL!

You need a fact check. "Spend, spend, and spend more." That is exactly what Republicans presidents have done for the last 50 years. They have outspent Democrats, on a year to year basis, by a wide margin that far exceeds inflation.

For example, Bush-42 increased spending each year by 7-8%, Reagan increased spending by 8-9% from year to the next. On the other hand, Clinton increased spending by 3-4%, while Obama has increased spending by only 1.4%. The Democratic figures are less than inflation, while the Republican figures far outpace inflation.

I f you ask Romney for specifics in regards to his "plan" for America you're told flat out to "wait until after the election".
I guess when you don't have a plan that would benefit the PEOPLE of this country, not just the billionaires, millionaires and corporations, but the PEOPLE that's the only answer you can give: "Wait until after the election".
    I don't think so.
Do your thing tonight Mr. President, we stand firmly behind you.
They must be really afraid of you to have committed to making you a one-term President on the day that you were inaugurated.
