Hustler magazine offers $1 million for a different type of exposure

(CNN) - A magazine known for its sexually explicit material is offering a reward of $1 million dollars for a different type of bare-all expose.

The publisher of Hustler magazine, Larry Flynt, is offering the sum for the skinny on GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's financials, the magazine announced.

- Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker

- Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

It is taking out full-page advertisements in two newspapers - The Washington Post on Sunday, and USA Today on Tuesday - "offering up to a million dollars in cash for documented evidence concerning Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney's unreleased tax returns and/or details of his offshore assets, bank accounts and business partnerships," a press release from the magazine read.

Flynt's announcement could be seen as either an attempt to keep the issue of Romney's financial documents alive or put himself - and his magazine - in headlines.

Romney has released his tax returns for 2010 and an estimate of his 2011 tax liability, but has repeatedly said he would not release additional years, saying it would be fodder for Democrats to criticize him.

In recent months, various political figures, including some Republicans, have called for more transparency from Romney.

Earlier in the week, an anonymous online poster claimed it was holding stolen tax documents belonging to Romney ransom for $1 million in an internet currency. Should the sum not be paid by later this month, the posting said a key to unlock the documents would be released publicly, while the financial firm from which the documents were allegedly stolen said there is "no evidence of unauthorized access to our data."

I never thought I would be saying this, but yea Larry Flynt. The only reason that the democrats could find "fodder" with Mitt's taxes is, it's there to be found. If a presidental candidate pleads the 5th on his taxes, then he doesn't derserve to lead this nation of citizens that pay their taxes.

It's always good to see Hustler jump into the political fray. Larry Flynt is the only American alive who can go toe to toe with the morality level of your average politician.

If only they did that four years ago and offer $1 Million for Obama's anything, like his collage transcripts and application to Harvard. Hillary Clinton would be going for a second term.

This is the 21st century I tried to remind Romney a couple of months ago. The cat will get out of the bag, one way or the other. The only way to authenticate even a hoax is for Romney to cough up the real deal which is BAD NEWS for his candidacy. I HATE to do this but "I THINK THIS GAME IS OVER FOR ROMNEY". Want to know what is happening "LOOK NO FURTHER THAN HIS GOP PRIMARY OPPONENTS". SAND BAG JOB!!! This is DIABOLICAL.

Gee, why hasn't money been offered for pics of Obama? He's supposed to be the one that is soooooo buff and athletically built. Personally, I don't want to see either of them.

Obama is living proof that familiarity breeds contempt. To really get to know Obama is to realize that his only real skill is giving speeches — with a teleprompter.

In this regard, Obama has a lot in common with Facebook. They are both all about hope and hype. But once you get to actually see the business model, there is nothing left to do but sell short

You just gotta love Larry Flynt. He has the money to fight them and he does. The money that he spent fighting the Falwell case protected all of our rights to speak freely about public figures. He could have paid the $250,000 judgement out of hi pocket change. He chose to fight the hypocrite and protect free speech. You go Larry.

I hope it works, but even if it does not. It will certainly make Romney squirm.

Anyone with access to that information has millions to spare already.

An additional million to them is like an additional $100.00 to you and me.

$25M will probably get the info.
