Hustler magazine offers $1 million for a different type of exposure

(CNN) - A magazine known for its sexually explicit material is offering a reward of $1 million dollars for a different type of bare-all expose.

The publisher of Hustler magazine, Larry Flynt, is offering the sum for the skinny on GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's financials, the magazine announced.

- Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker

- Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

It is taking out full-page advertisements in two newspapers - The Washington Post on Sunday, and USA Today on Tuesday - "offering up to a million dollars in cash for documented evidence concerning Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney's unreleased tax returns and/or details of his offshore assets, bank accounts and business partnerships," a press release from the magazine read.

Flynt's announcement could be seen as either an attempt to keep the issue of Romney's financial documents alive or put himself - and his magazine - in headlines.

Romney has released his tax returns for 2010 and an estimate of his 2011 tax liability, but has repeatedly said he would not release additional years, saying it would be fodder for Democrats to criticize him.

In recent months, various political figures, including some Republicans, have called for more transparency from Romney.

Earlier in the week, an anonymous online poster claimed it was holding stolen tax documents belonging to Romney ransom for $1 million in an internet currency. Should the sum not be paid by later this month, the posting said a key to unlock the documents would be released publicly, while the financial firm from which the documents were allegedly stolen said there is "no evidence of unauthorized access to our data."

Ok...suppose I offered someone $3million to assault someone or steal something...would I not be guilty of something for inciting someone to commit a crime?

I would really like to see how one can legally have $100mm+ in an IRA retirement account. This should be shared with all of America so they too can have substantial amounts of tax deferred income.

    ****CENSOR ALERT FOR CNN******

It's a crying shame that media including CNN cry that Romney won't reveal his tax records. Why doesn't the media, including Obama worshiping CNN ask for Obama's college records. Here's a question for CNN. Why is it that no one in Colombia University's Political Science class of 1983 remember Obama or as he was known then Barry Soreto? Has CNN ever questioned why our telepropmpter in chief had to go by an alias?

How can a guy say out of one side of his mouth that he is an experienced businessman who understands the economy and knows how to create jobs, then say out of the other side of his mouth that there will be no more tax returns, or in other words I won't prove it so you'll just have to take my word for it.

If you were assigned the responsibility of filling a position at your place of employment, would you hire someone who claimed to be an expert but provided no proof, and further more had a copy of his resume in his hand but vehemently refused to let you see it? Who in their right mind would say yes? If you do say yes, can we have permission to tell your boss that this in your opinion nobody needs to prove qualification or that they do things ethically, they only need to claim they do.

It's so preposterous that it seems like a no-brainer to NOT support Mr. Romney until AFTER he releases his tax forms and is fully vetted, however, with a statistically-even race it's clear there are a LOT of Americans asleep at the wheel, blindly supporting people and causes who could as easily hurt as help them. As Americans we ALL owe it to not only ourselves but our country to do everything in our power to ensure candidates are moral, ethical, legal and honest as we can possibly determine. It's ridiculously clear and blatantly obvious that Mr. Romney is failing that very fundamental requirement.

Let's get real here. This info is worth millions more to those that want the truth. We don't care what he made... we do, however, care tremendously what he paid on those millions of loophole filled taxes and offshore accounts. This is like one hustler to another. Romney's no better than Flint. I don't trust this guy and I certainly wouldn't trust him at the helm of America.

At first it seemed that it was just the radical right fringe that was giving all of conservatism a bad name, but with 48% of them voting for romney, they're giving themselves a bad name now.

I wouldn't doubt it if the Republican base of Romney himself is responsible for this. What better way to semi-permanently hide these facts until after the election, than to tie the evidence up in our "speedy" courts?
There's something major he wants hidden from the public here.

If there is something there, and Mr. Romney knows the American people "WILL NOT" approve, accept, and he still wants to shove himself along with lyin ryan, down our throats, that goes to show the true character of "ANYONE" to have to step on others, not be honest in order to have a chance of winning...............WEAK!!

  15. Romney 1040 or Obama 2012.

RMoney should release the tax records. OR he the new NIXON saying "I am not a CROOK" while he actually was.

Flint is not being a DEM, he's being a typical CAPITALIST, which must be really hard for REPUBs to acknowledge. It's just BUSINESS right?

Clearly Romney is not a patriot but is rather a self-serving capitalist. Require him to disclose the millions of dollars he is hiding in foreign bank accounts to avoid paying his fair share of taxes. Require him to stop his unethical and unpatriotic behavior of hiding his tax information. If he refuses, he is obviously a white-collar crook ripping off our nation and people. How can he be a patriot if he is unscrupulously robbing our nation of millions of dollars to enjoy on his own?

How much are you offering for Romneys college transcripts, or is it a different standard for him, just as he says everyone knows what hospital he was born in , doesnt need to show his birth cert, everyone knows he went to college , and he wouldnt lie as hes a good christian. Pres Bush didnt release his transcripts either .,some of Pres Bushs transcripts were leaked because some of his class mates were embarassed that he was running for president

May be one question Romney has to answer is: Why did he decide to have Foreign Bank Accounts? What motivated him to do so?

If Obama release his college transcripts, the next demand will be marriage certificate, his daughters' certificate. As fool as GOPs, all they have done is NO to the President.

People who asked the President's certificate, college transcript, do they also ask the same from Republicans, do they really care and know what they have done in both Congress and Senate?

Don't response me that I'm a liberal, left or right, just give me a substantial answer.

Romney's a coward and a fraud. He won't show his tax returns because it will show he pays 8% tax and profits hugely from a company that provides equipment to abortion doctors. He evaded the draft and Vietnam war with his so called "religion", worshipping golden tablets and the planet Kolob or whatever. His sons would NEVER serve in the military either, that's too dangerous and better suited for YOU PEOPLE. The Romney's do enjoy a nice taco night though, so Hispanics should feel comfortable with him.
