Congress has little motivation for compromise before election

Washington (CNN) - After a five-week summer recess, Congress returns to a long list of unfinished business, but with 57 left days before Election Day, it's likely it will tackle only the bare minimum in its short fall session.

The one must-pass measure - a short-term continuing resolution to fund federal agencies - will avoid any pre-election talk of a government shutdown, with which neither party wants to be tagged. Republican and Democratic leaders struck a deal this summer on a six-month bill, but both chambers still need to pass the legislation before government funding expires at the end of this month.

The days of compromise are over. Our Republican politicians, and some Democrats have turned politics into a game of winning at all costs. They take "legal" bribes everyday, they lie to us everyday. They will do anything to keep the bribes rolling in. If they vote against the special interests that bribe them, they will have to go back and live like the rest of us, and they don't want to lower themselves to that class. Google, "James Inhoff energy". This guy should be in prison. And he's just one. We can only hope the day is coming when we will all put a stop to the insanity.

Remember this, if nothing else. The republican led congress, declared war on the democrat president the day of his election. They have done, and are still doing everything possible to sabotage any and all programs proposed by the democrats. This has been done for no reason other than political posturing, and the desire to regain seats, and the Oval Office, if at all possible. Remember this when you vote, and do all you can to upset their apple cart. They don't deserve to be holding the office of congress. They've placed their wants and needs above the good of the nation.

All they care about is there own party, and forget about the people who voted for them.If what I say isn't the truth, then why haven't there been some kind of compromise between the dems.and the repbs. in the last 4yrs.
