Romney, Ryan remember victims of September 11

(CNN) - Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential nominee, and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, released the following statements Tuesday, the eleventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Mitt Romney
“Eleven years ago, evil descended upon our country, taking thousands of lives in an unspeakable attack against innocents. America will never forget those who perished. America will never stop caring for the loved ones they left behind. And America shall remain ever vigilant against those who would do us harm. Today we again extend our most profound gratitude to our brave troops who have gone into battle, some never to return, so that we may live in peace. On this most somber day, those who would attack us should know that we are united, one nation under God, in our determination to stop them and to stand tall for peace and freedom at home and across the world.”

Paul Ryan
“Eleven years ago today, from Capitol Hill, I could see the smoke rising from the fires burning in the Pentagon. Like all Americans, I will never forget the moment that our homeland came under attack. For me, this is a day to remember those who perished on that day of terror, including the first responders. It is also a day to pay tribute to all those who have worked quietly and tirelessly both on the home front and abroad to prevent a repetition of such terrible events. And it is a day to give honor to those in our military who have sacrificed so much, including their lives, for the same end. Their courage and heroism and willingness to answer the call of duty have kept America safe and strong and free. We are truly the home of the brave.”

It is a good thing we responded to this heinous act, by attacking the wrong country and killing thousands of soldiers for no reason.

Fake, phony, panderers. They should've just remained silent. Ryan has fought tirelessly against public sector workers, including "first responders", and Mitt is trying to win back some military votes after he totally snubbed them at his GOP pep rally in Tampa. Such a pathetic duo, they disgrace the memory of 9/11.

Hello, I get to be the first on this? Was this a means to garner votes or was it sincere?

Right Mitt, it was OTHERS who fought and died to keep American safe while YOU SKIPPED OUT on your military service. Hypocrite.

My husband is one of the 20,000 Delphi Salaries that are fighting the Obama administration for the past 4 years for allowing GM/Delphi to divide people to two groups and select one group over the other during Chapter-11 bankruptcy. The non-union workers lost significant portion of their pensions. The Government got involved in the bankruptcy process, helped one group of people at the expense of others then bailed out GM with our money.

Why does the CNN news media disregard the story?

There was some coverage on the FOX News but nothing on CNN.

Bush blew it on 9/11. There is new information in a report on NPR today about the specific threats that he had knowledge of before 9/11, and he took no action. The CIA had warned him, and in fact, people were considering resigning because they knew some big attack was coming and the Bush regime was sitting on its hands.

Would Romney have done any better? He is a clone of Bush in so many ways. How could we ever trust another of these guys?

Willard and Ruin are the new planners of the new 9/11. They are planning an unprecedented attack on the middle class wiping out their health care, their social security, their access to college loans and their rights to vote and join Unions. Hopefully Obama will send in the CIA and SEAL Team Six and take them out.

Yes, they remember the attacks, but they choose to forget the costs of the wars.

TRUE Patriots do not oppose taxation during war.

After all, the Constitution was written **specifically** to raise taxes to defend our new country!

  23. Pathetic

Really pathetic that on this Patriot day, that the Fox Communist News Network is taking political shots instead of remembering those who died on 9/22 and those who have served. They seem to forget that a low life was in the White house when it happened, who also said mission accomplished as soldiers were dying

I love how the 9/11 organization asked for politics and politicians to be left out of the ceremonies today..... and Obama is currently speaking live at the Pentagon.... stay classy, Barack. President or not.... show some respect for their wishes...
