Obama: Romney overstepped on Libya, Egypt attacks

(CNN) – President Barack Obama, responding to criticism from his rival Mitt Romney on the U.S. response to attacks in Egypt and Libya, said Romney had spoken before making a full assessment of the facts.

"There's a broader lesson to be learned here," Obama said in a CBS interview. A clip of the interview was aired Wednesday afternoon.

"Gov. Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later, and as president, one of the things I've learned is you can't do that," the president continued. "It's important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts and that you've thought through the ramifications before you make them."

Asked if he thought Romney's statements were "irresponsible," Obama said he'd "let the American people judge that."

Luke you are an Idot. What this means is Romney is an Idot. Romney Must be a prophet to comment on Attacks that didnt even happened yet. Second He does not get intelligent briefings so he really does not know what the hell he is talking about. Unless he Banked Rolled the operation. He is a Fool and even conservatives have callled him out today for his lack of decency or knowledge of facts.

Look for Romney to follow his usual procedure here. That is, twist the facts, get caught twisting facts, and the twist some more, but at higher volume. Or in other words, repeat a lie long enough and it becomes the truth in people's minds.

Mittler, it's not working any more. I would say, "Show us your tax returns or go home," but he's made so many gaffes at this point that his tax returns are almost irrelevant, since he's headed down the tubes with or without them.

Another example of how Mitt operates. Just like Bain and his taxes. Mitt is totally devoid of honesty and integrity (did I miss intelligence). The words honesty, and integrity might as well be arabic to him. Now we should add UnAmerican. Hiding in Paris from the draft, you could not pour his family on military service, and now attacking the Prez on this when he should be praising the sacrifice of these truely GREAT Americans who gave everything they had for this country. Mitt needs to take all the Mitt-Witts with him and leave this country. How anyone could vote for this liar is beyond me.

Obama, you ignorant man. The situation occurred because of your wrong-headed policies. Romney pointed these out, as he should. He will be replacing you after the election. Stop blaming others and trying to distract from your failures.

What an idiot! Thank you for Mitt Romney for helping Obama run away with this election. It's not a coincidence that in the days before this incident that 59% of likely voters say Obama will win the debates! He wants to cut deficits by raising taxes on middle class families and use the proceeds to invade Iran. He must be talking to GWB. I'm no idiot and hopefully others follow that same chain of thought to vote for Obama!!!!!

I think it was a strategic move by Romney to make the statement. After the RNC he was criticized because of not talking very much about foreign policy in his nomination acceptance speech. I speculate that he was advised to "do something" soon and, if possible, try to make Obama look bad at the same time. However, Romney's tact and timing were regrettable. Him and the RNC chairman look like idiots to America and the world.

The last time we had such a weak response to a situation like this was when Jimmy Carter was president and Iran attacked our embassy. The middle east is clearly a more dangerous place after Egypt and Lybia were destabalized thru the support of this administration. Now you are seeing the inept and naive results of this president foriegn policy. At the same time this was happening he was also refusing to meet with our closest allies leader of Israel. Who side is this man on.

Besides making political fodder out of the death of Americas, which is truly disingenuous, Romney is only going crazy over this to draw the attention away from himself. The fact that people in his own party are asking for details on his plans to help America couldn't be worse for him. We can't see his taxes, we can't see any of his ideas for helping the country, what next?

Myviews, there is still turmoil and you can find it anywhere, even on our own soil.
Both Egypt and Libya's governments apologized for the killings. It was a small group of extremeists, and of course Al Qaeda claims the bombings were there thing which they would love nothing more to do and spout off about.

Romney is the ultimate political opportunist. Just look at how he changes his opinion on a dime on any number of issues. Whatever his opinion needs to be to get ahead, that's what his opinion is. Any tiny opening he sees to berate his opponent, now matter if it's backed by proof or not, he's gonna take it.

Romney has a lot to learn about foreign policy – it sure was nice of President Obama to try and educate him. Unfortunately, it won't help – Willard isn't even ready to be dog catcher.
