Romney: 'Can't imagine saying no' to Netanyahu meeting

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney focused campaign efforts Wednesday on putting a dent in President Barack Obama's foreign policy, including invoking reports that the administration refused a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Romney said at a campaign event that as president, he "can't imagine ever saying no" to a meeting with the Israeli leader.

Romney's remarks on Israel came after the GOP candidate's continued hammering of the administration's response to attacks on two United States' diplomatic posts in Egypt and Libya, killing four in the U.S. offices in Benghazi.

Romney's team altered a campaign event in Jacksonville, Florida, Wednesday to deliver remarks on the attacks, offering condolences to the affected families and, notably, handing more pointed criticism to Obama for what the Republican candidate said was sympathy for the attackers.

While greeting supporters after the scheduled event, Romney was also asked about his views on Israel.

Romney reiterated both his support for the U.S. ally and his attacks on the president's foreign policy, saying, "I can't ever imagine if the prime minister of Israel asked to meet with me, I can't imagine ever saying no. They're our friends. They're our closest allies in the Middle East."

The Obama administration has pushed back on reports that the White House turned down requests for a meeting from Netanyahu to discuss, in person, threats to Israel by Iran's nuclear program, releasing a statement Tuesday saying there was no such request and no meeting was denied.

Netanyahu is scheduled to be in New York later this month. The White House statement did not say whether a request to meet in New York was either made or denied.

"Can't imagine"? What if Netanyahu is in Tel Avivi and you are on the dark side of the Moon? Can you imagine not meeting then?

Well, we certainly hope YOU would say no since you can't even handle a mickey mouse overseas tour of our allies without pissing everyone off. Please...stay out of foreign policy and events. Mittster, you are MORE dangerous than George W., and that's tough to do!

The only thing Romney says NO to is releasing his tax returns. My guess the UBS whistle blower lawsuit about tax avoidance schemes in Switzerland has Mitt very worried. On any other subject Mitt says no, then yes, then no, then yes, except once again on releasing taxes where he ALWAYS says NO. Can't TRUST him! He doesn't even trust himself.

Romney would never say no to Bebe, he'd be afraid of getting a bad employee evaluation from Sheldon Aldelson.

Romney "Can't imagine saying no to Netanyahu"?
Maybe he thinks that's the name of an exotic tax shelter, no the PM of Israel.

So I guess Romney is running for president of Israel. Of course Netanyahu never requested a meeting with Obama. And Romney claims to be a good friend of Netanyahu and you have to wonder if he would put the interests of Israel ahead of the United States.
Today Romney made it clear to anyone who had not been paying attention that he is not suited to be president.

Once again spout without fact checking! It's not helping your case Mitt, most of us do fact check. The only reason Mitt would have the meeting would be if he thought he could make money on it.

I'm totally out of words to describe this arrogant little twit that's unfortunately running for President. A message to all you Republicans, when you vote, just stay home or vote Democrat because if you love the country you're living in....it will soon disappear if this money monger gets his grips on whatever is left of America's reputation and wealth. The republicans need to rebuild on their core values and go for surgery to have the "Tea Party" cancer removed from their party.

Romney is such a national embarrassment now and getting worse as it gets close to the end. He is grasping at straws with no coherent stance on anything as he has spent any credibility he ever had before.

The man is over his head and he is beginning to panic. The GOP have screwed themselves by choosing him and will have to completely reinvent the Republican party after this debacle is over in November.

Iran is only Israel's current fixation. America's entire electoral system has been corrupted by Netanyahu's Israel, AIPAC, Israel Firsters and ingenious distribution of enormous amounts of Jewish money. Our representative democracy is nearly defeated and the destruction of America as we know it well underway. Termination of the criminal treachery and treason demands immediate priority. The Government of the United States must again serve American interests, not the Jewish state's relentless pursuit of invulnerability, territorial conquest and apartheid supremacist empire in, and beyond, the Mideast.

Maybe if Gov. Romney wins the election he can outsource our Middle East policy apparatus to his buddies in Israel.

Like every other Republican President – he cannot wait to go down on one knee and kiss the ring on the hand of the President of Israel. He is more than willing to pledge American lives (but not his own or his sons') to support Israel in whatever military action they intend to take against Iran.

However did we get it all so backwards? As a signatory to the Non Proliferation Treaty, Iran has an internationally recognized right to develop and implement nuclear technology. Israel rejected the NPT and has no such right. Yet, the Jewish state has ICBM nukes and openly threatens Iran; actually campaigns for war against Iran. Israel, not Iran, should be sanctioned and forced to reveal its nuclear machinations to IAEA inspection. However did we get it all so backwards?

With all of the negative comments Netanyahu has for the USA everytime he turns around, I can see how President Obama is more than fed up with all the nonsense. Israel is way overdue for new leadership. Anyone than would appreciate, and be grateful for all of the billions of dollars the USA gives to Israel would do. It would also be a big plus if Israel would spend some of their money in the USA to help our economy. Netanyahu wants billions more from the USA to buy more nuclear submarines from Germany with USA tax payers dollars. Netanyahu needs to stop biting the helping hand that reaches out to Israel.
